EPISODE XVIII - GWEN FREEMAN
Salana's P. O. V Afterwards, I went outside the Arena where Aarde was resting. I saw him still asleep. So, I ran towards him and patted his head, which made his eyes open. Then, I offered my hands to him. "Let's go?" I asked. So, he stood up and nodded. "By the way, where are we going, Mother?" He asked. I looked at him and sighed. "I just remembered something, Aarde. Since we are not yet signed to each other, I can't hide you from the summoning dimension, so you need to go to my dorm with me. But wait, you're too big for my dorm, and there's a possibility that we can bother my dorm mate." I explained. Aarde released a deep breath. "I can transform into my human form, Mother!" He exclaimed. I just sighed and shook my head side by side. "You still can't enter my room, because of your gender. Wait, are you willing to sleep on the couch of my dorm?" I asked. Aarde laughed and nodded, "I'm very willing to sleep there as long as I am not far away from you." He answered. I just pet him and show my keys. "If that's your answer, let's go now to my dorm. I want to know my dorm mate also." I said, giggling. Aarde changed his form into human, which still have the clothes that Kasakstan have on him. "Woah! Why did you still have that cloth?" I asked, he just raised his shoulder. "I don't know, mother." He replied. I just nodded and pressed the red diamond on my key... After a while... I finally went inside my bedroom, and I heard someone singing outside the room. "What a lovely voice," Aarde said. I nodded. "Yes, that's very true. Let's go outside to see who's that." I said. I walked towards my door and opened it. Aarde followed me. When we went outside the room, I confirmed that the lovely voice came to the kitchen. So, we walked towards the kitchen and saw the back of the girl with a white hair, while cooking something. "Yea! Yeah! Yeah!" He sang in a very high note. So, Aarde and I clapped our hands and gaped in wonder, which made the girl look at us, which made me recognize her. So, we pointed out each other and at once, we shouted, "You!" "Oh my gosh! So, you are my dorm mate," She said with a wide smile on her face. "H-Hello, isn't it you are one of the creatures that tried to help me when the two Phobuseor bullied me, right?" I asked, confirming her identity. She just nodded and smiled at me. "By the way, I am Gwen Freeman. One of the Freeman cousins." She said, Then, she offered her hand, I grabbed it and shook it. "Nice to meet you, I am Salana Tempest. I hope you could help me build my trust in a person." I said with a broad smile on my face. Then, she switched her gaze to Aarde, and looked curiously at him. "I thought the dorm for the male is separated from females, why is a man here?" She asked. "Oh, sorry for not introducing him. His name is Aarde, and he is my unsigned familiar." I said, introducing Aarde. Aarde just waved his hand and smiled. "Hello, nice to meet you. I love your voice." Aarde said, which made Gwen blush. "Oh my gosh! I'm so embarrassed right now! But by the way, it's my first time that I saw a creature that has a human familiar." She said, I just giggled. "Actually, he's an earth dragon," I said, which made her gaped. "Uh?! An earth dragon or any kind of dragon that doesn't have the blood of a legendary or mythical one can't change their form." She explained. I just nodded. "Yeah, I know it. But we can't confirm until we did not find a person with dragon blood to examine him," I said. So, she held my two hands. I looked at her eyes that were sparkling right now, which made me confused. "What are you doing?" I asked her. "I am a half Dragonite," She said, which widened my eyes. " E-EH?!" I shouted. She just nodded many times. "Oh! That's the reason why I am charmed by your voice, Gwen." Aarde said. Gwen looked at him and nodded. "I thought Dragonite were all extinct, how are you half dragonite?" I asked. "You know, my father was the last Dragonite, and when he was killed during the Invasion War, he was killed by the Phoenix Clan. So, the Dragonite announced instinct with them knowing that I am a descendant of the last Dragonite." She explained. "Hey, could you examine me, Gwen?" Aarde exclaimed. Gwen just giggled. "Sure, even if this is my first time, I hope I can slay it." She said, which made me nervous. "Hey, Gwen. Is it dangerous to both of you?" I asked. He just shook her head side by side. "No, Lana. Please set your mind at ease, this is just a quick examination." She said, but the smell of something burning bothered me, so I looked at the stove and saw the dish that was being cooked by Gwen on fire. "Oh my gosh, Gwen! Your dish!" I shouted. Gwen looked at the stove. So, he immediately turned off the stove and sighed so deeply. "Uh! My dish has been burned!" Gwen cried out. So, I walked towards her and patted his shoulder. "Hey, don't cry, it's just a dish. You can cook it again," I said. But she just shook her head. "I'm still sorry, because I made that for the both of us, yet if I cook it again, it takes many times again." She said, I just smiled and patted her head. "Hey, don't worry. I'll cook a not time consuming dish after you examine Aarde." I consoled her. He just hugged, which made smile. But suddenly, I remembered the betrayal of Bonny back to the Mortal World. So, I pushed her a bit and frowned. "S-Sorry, p-please start in examining Aarde," I stuttered. Haist, it's very hard to build trust again. But instead of her being angry at me, he just smiled and patted my shoulder. "I understand, Lana." She said, then, she stood up and walked towards Aarde. She then hugged the nape of Aarde and she kissed him, which shocked me... ...

This novel, a poignant exploration of intimacy, betrayal, and the complexities of love and friendship, profoundly resonated with my own past relationship, mirroring its intricate tapestry of emotions and ultimately, its heartbreaking conclusion. The narrative's central conflict—the burgeoning closeness between myself and a male friend, a friendship so deep and genuine that it ignited a jealous fire in my boyfriend—struck a deeply personal chord, echoing the very real anxieties and misunderstan.
