Chapter 70
The Chosen One
Hydra approached Kill, and her face became serious, with no more playful eyes.
When they were only about 0.25 Meters apart, in the blink of an eye, the place they were standing in suddenly changed.
Hydra stepped back, slowly raising her right hand until it was level with her chest.
Her fingers were straight, like in a karate stance, and she wrapped an aura from her wrist to her fingers, sharpening it, and it was blue in color
She looked around the entire area and realized that this was not the room where Kill was imprisoned.
The place was entirely black, and Kill was still in front of her, his hands and feet chained, but the chains were not visible.
The spears that had been thrust into his body were still there. Hydra looked down and saw that she was standing on a black liquid, and she was above it.
Hydra's eyes widened in shock as she saw Kill in front of her again, now chained and restrained about two meters away.
Hydra's teeth clenched in anger, and she was truly enraged. She rushed towards Kill again and sliced his body into pieces.
In the blink of an eye, she saw Kill in front of her again, as if it was an illusion cast by Kill.
Gradually, Hydra's heartbeat quickened and then subsided. A sinister smile appeared on Hydra's lips.
"Is that so? It seems I will be entertained by you now," Hydra said, her lips curling into a villainous grin, eager with anticipation.
Two dark lines appeared on Kill's left hand and spread towards his face, and once they reached his head, his entire hair turned black.
Slowly, Kill's bowed head rose, and he smiled. Suddenly, his eyes opened wide.
From Kill's once white hair, it had now turned black, and his blue eyes had become black, with a dark aura seeping from them.
The aura emanating from Kill's entire body also grew stronger. "It seems you have finally awakened. Come, let's play," Hydra said.
Kill's smile turned sinister, and he pulled at the chains restraining his hands and feet, breaking free from his bindings.
"Where am I? What is this place?" It was a normal question, and Hydra's tone was still calm, as if she was not afraid.
...
Ten seconds passed, and there was no response from Kill, not even a sound. Hydra frowned slightly and approached him, waving her hand, which was now sharpened with the blue aura, and beheaded Kill.
Suddenly, Kill appeared on Hydra's left side, and she jumped back, only for Kill to reappear behind her. "Oh, what's the matter? I thought you wanted to play with me," Kill's voice was like two voices combined, as if he was possessed by a demon.
Hydra swung her hand at Kill, but it passed through him, and he stepped back. "What kind of being are you?" Hydra asked.
"Who do you think I am?" Kill replied, his voice still carrying the dual tone.
"You're not Kill, are you? Well, then introduce yourself."
"Alright, you're right, I'm not Kill. I am Moloch."
"Moloch? One of the most powerful demons from the demon realm, and you refused to possess one of the Blood Demon clan... How did someone like you end up in this child's body?"
"I don't know, you see, this child has a certain quality that I've never encountered in anyone else. I left the Demon Realm to become even stronger, but I was only summoned by a pitiful child from the Blood Demon clan, so I refused to possess and empower that child."
"But why did you choose this child?"
"Why? Simply because this child was the one who defeated me in battle. That's the only reason."
"What did you say? He defeated you in battle? But he couldn't even defeat his peer, Kairos."
"It no longer matters, for he possesses all the qualities I've been seeking in a human vessel. Anyway, let's return to the matter at hand - you'd like to know where we are, wouldn't you? Well, I'll tell you, we are not in the world you once stood in... Yes, time still flows there, and the passage of time is the same in that world and the dimension we occupy now."
"So, I'm in your illusion world then."
"I wouldn't say you're in an illusion world, for this is the dimension of my power. Now, let's begin our game.
Hydra readied her stance to defend against the attack, but Moloch, using Kill's body, was too fast. He suddenly appeared in front of Hydra and grabbed her by the neck, lifting her up.
Hydra struggled to breathe, "What? Still want to play? Huh? General?"
Hydra could barely speak due to the tightness of Moloch's grip.
"HA, HA, WHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, What? Come on, Miss General? Let's play some more," Moloch grinned, the dark aura emanating from Kill's body expanding, nearly enveloping the entire area.
"This one? It seems he really wants me dead. I have no escape, whatever happens here will also happen to my true body. This child is terrifying. Please, stop this, I don't want to die... Please, I don't want to die," Hydra thought to herself, fear evident, and tears slowly falling.
Moloch then released her, and Hydra fell to the ground, coughing. She sat hunched over. "No matter what you do to this child's body, you cannot kill him. Even if you stab him with spears or punch him with all your might, the child's heart will continue to beat... Yes, for now, he is in a deep slumber due to the pain and suffering he has endured. But you can do nothing, the child will soon learn how to wield my power... Now that you've felt my power, would you still like to play with me?"
Hydra remained silent, still coughing. After a few moments, she regained some of her strength, "I want to go home and resign from being a General."
"It seems you were truly terrified, but if you really want to avoid dying and have a peaceful life, don't resign from your position as a General, and keep coming here to torment me. Don't worry, I've already told you that this child won't die as long as I'm here. Let me ask you this - can you betray your region for the sake of your own life?"
"Y-yes, just don't kill me."
"It appears the true colors of the Oquilonians and their selfishness are starting to show. Alright... your comrades are approaching, you need to return."
In the blink of an eye, Hydra found herself sitting, clutching her neck and still struggling to breathe.
Suddenly, someone entered, "Are you alright, General?" asked a Guard.
Hydra quickly stood up, "Yes, I'm fine," she replied in a normal tone. "You may leave me here."
"Yes, ma'am," the two Guards quickly left.
Hydra approached Kill's unconscious face, "Now I know the meaning of fear. Don't worry, I will be the brain behind you here in Oquilonia from now on, Kill Ravenshroud..." she thought to herself, "Now I understand why the esteemed king wants you so badly."
Hydra turned and left the room, fear evident in her heart. For the first time, she had experienced fear because of a mere child she had been tormenting.
Hydra walked to her house and went straight to her room, lying down.
Her heart was still pounding heavily from the sheer terror. "What's happening to me? That child - no, that demon, he's not that powerful, but from what I know, he's only half of an even stronger demon than the Demon King Lucifer. I want to run away and quit my job. I'm not even married yet, I want to live peacefully, I don't want to die," Hydra whispered, her four fingers trembling in fear.
And then she remembered what Moloch had said, to just pretend nothing happened and act normal.
"AHHHHHH HAHAHAHA, Yes, that's right. I'll just pretend to be normal, and I may still be able to live."
Hydra fell asleep and woke up at 4 o'clock in the morning. She prepared herself and headed to where Kill was chained.
"Open the door," Hydra commanded in her usual, calm tone.
"As you wish, General Hydra," the Guard responded, opening the door.
As Hydra entered, she found Herman standing in front of Kill.
"H-Herman, you're here quite early," Hydra said, surprised.
Herman turned around to face Hydra. "Why? Is that not allowed?"
"N-no, it's not like that, but it's just unusual for you to visit this early in the morning."
Herman approached Hydra, bringing his face close to hers. "Isn't it unusual for you?" He then turned and walked back towards Kill. "The General who is always late to every meeting and gathering, sometimes even too lazy to get up, and now, miraculously, you're awake at this hour. Isn't that strange?"
"I just couldn't sleep, that's all."
"Is that so? Or perhaps you've already killed this captive. He's been barely conscious since then. Isn't that right?"
"He's just unconscious, and his heart is still beating, isn't it?"
"Tell me, General Hydra, when did you become so foolish? It's useless if he doesn't wake up, isn't it?"
"No, he'll wake up, don't worry, General Herman."
"Make sure of that." Herman walked towards the door. "By the way, the King has summoned us both. Make sure you're not late."
"Who do you think I am?"
"Alright, you take care of it here," Herman said, opening the door and leaving.
As Herman walked away, a thought crossed his mind.
"There's something off about her behavior, but she's not an imposter either. It's her, and no one else. There's just something wrong. Is it possible she's being manipulated? No, that's not it. I wonder what happened to her? Whenever I mention a meeting, her only response is 'What do I care?' and nothing else... Never mind, I'll find out eventually."
Hydra approached Kill and took another spear, thrusting it into his body once more. After that, she went to the Palace of Bethulia, arriving earlier than usual.
"You're quite early today, Hydra. This is quite unusual," said the King, seated on his throne.
Hydra bowed, "I am honored to be praised by you, my esteemed King. But I simply woke up early today."
"How is the captive? Is he still alive?"
"Yes, my dear King, he is still alive, and his heart is still beating."
"That won't be enough if he doesn't wake up," Herman suddenly interjected, walking to stand beside Hydra and kneeling.
"What do you mean?"
"Our captive has been unconscious for days, and from my estimate, it will be nearly half a year before he wakes up. If that's the case, there's no point in continuing to torture him and forcing him to join our army."
"If that's how it is, just continue to torment him as planned, and we'll carry out the original plan to execute him in three months. Do you understand?"
"Yes, my esteemed King," the two Generals replied in unison.
"You may leave now," the King commanded.
"As you wish, my dear King," the two replied, standing up. They began walking out of the palace when the King suddenly spoke.
"Herman, stay here for a moment," the King ordered.
"Yes, as you wish."
Hydra left, leaving Herman behind. "How may I be of service?"
"Keep an eye on Hydra. It seems something unpleasant has happened to her, and she may be under manipulation."
"So you've noticed it as well, my dear King? I'm not the only one."
"Alright, you may leave now. That's all I wanted to say."
"Yes, Your Majesty," Herman bowed and left.
After that, they continued to torture Kill.
Three months had passed, and Kill's body was pierced by many spears. Only his face and heart remained untouched by the blades.
The three Generals gathered again in the palace, as the other six Generals were away on missions.
"The execution of the captive is tomorrow. He's truly stubborn," Minoru said.
"Can you believe it? His heart is still beating. I've been so happy torturing that child," Hydra said, a villainous grin on her face. "I want to play with him more."
"It seems Kairos won't be able to witness the death of his former companion from the White Room," Herman remarked.
"It seems the old Hydra has returned. It must have been just our imagination," Herman thought to himself.
Meanwhile, in the town of Mago, Eldritch was preparing to retrieve Kill from the hands of Oquilonia.
"Are you sure about this, Grandpa? Don't you want to come with us?" Ren asked.
"Yes, it's fine. I'll take care of Kill. I'm certain of his imminent growth in power," Eldritch replied. "Alright, I'll go ahead of you. It'll be about two years before we meet again."
Eldritch Ravenshroud smiled and disappeared in a flash, like a bubble bursting.
Suddenly, Eldritch appeared in the region of Oquilonia. "Now, it's time for us to make a move - Blood Demon. Make sure you have something to counter after Kill's training, for Kill is the Chosen One by the Ravenshroud Clan," Eldritch thought to himself.Download Novelah App
