Chapter 31

Chapter Thirty-one
"You became silent. What's up? " he asked.
"Nothing. I just remembered... Erm thinking about someone, " I answered.
"Oh. Well, yeah I said I got into the secret library and I didn't know that there was such a thing here. Maybe a lot of things are hidden in this building. What do I expect tho? It's the main quarter, eh. It makes me want to wander more... like you. "
"W-Wait, did you go to the secret library? " I asked again.
"Yes. Do you have a problem about that? "
A cold sweat and a shivering feeling began to rise all over my body. I just returned the book which contained all the important information of ES, including the name of the Legendary heads. It's in the middle aisle where it could be seen by anyone wandering there.
Compared to me, Klein is more curious about things especially if it really gets his attention. And it's too impossible that he didn't seen or read it.
"Have you seen a book there? "
"Yes. What are you, Xeena? It wouldn't be a library if it doesn't have books. "
"That's not what I meant. Did you see the book in the middle? "
"There's a lot of middle, Xeena. "
"Argh come on. You're so helpless," I said in a low tone.
He grinned.
"Uhuh... "
I stared at him.
We finished our meal and that's where time started to run fast. The next few days, we flew to Russia. We prepared winter clothes because they said it was cold there. Winter is still near anyways.
Yeah, Winter.
I glanced at Celestina. Do they still talk to each other? Even though they had broken up, I know that they still love each other very much.
A few more hours, we landed in Russia by morning. Agent 76 greeted us.
"Agent 44, good morning," she said.
"And how is this a good morning? "I asked in sarcastic tone.
Freyia hushed me.
"Don't be mean. You don't seem to be the only star. "
I glared at her.
"Well, nice to meet you, Agent 76. I'm agent 38, by the way. This is agent 45, 66 and 27. " She pointed the others.
"What about him? Who's he? " 76 asked while pointing at Agent 89.
Freyia's tongue seemed to recede on purpose. Maybe, she knows that too. Maybe what H says is true, somehow. He wasn't the only one who kept quiet, they all kept quiet. I was the only one to answer him.
"Well, he's Agent 89. A new member and a head," I answered.
"Oh, wow! Nice to meet you! You should come in, it's a little cold. "
"Oh, yes! Thank you... "Klein whispered.
"Well, do you know what you're going to do tonight? " she asked. I shook.
"Hasn't the head told you yet? "
"Well, obviously," I replied.
"Okay, then. All the agents here are ready and as for your team... we expect you to be ready as well. "
"Can you just tell us what we will do? " I asked. She just smiles and it makes me hate her. A lot.
I also don't know why.
Hate at first sight, it is.
"Well, it's just an easy thing. You're going to be in the monitoring system to let us know if anything strange is happening, " she replied.
I was stunned.
Monitoring?!
"Wait, what?! " I took a deep breathe. "No way! I won't agree on that thing! Do you want to be dead right now?! " I shouted. My eyes also widened.
Agent 76 laughed.
"Meh, fight at first sight? Haven't seen that in my entire life, " she said.
"Ah, well, how about giving you an example and first encounter right now? " I forced a smile.
"Look, this is an order from the heads, in Philippines. Don't throw your little tantrums at me. It will only look you a stupid agent, " she added. My mouth opened in awe. She really want to have a fight with the most beautiful, intelligent agent, huh?
And...
She even called me a stupid?
So she have chosen death...
My gaze deepened on Agent 76. She really has some plans to fight me and now yet we have an important mission. How annoying.
"Agent 76, if I were you, I wouldn't say that, " Klein said weakly. The others agreed on him.
"Oh dear, why I feel like I'm the wrong one here? I'm just saying the order of the heads. Come one, and as if I would be in tremble at Agent 44. I'm her senior. Why should I be afraid of a junior? " she asked. So she's one of the oldest agents here. Now I know why she is like that. There is no doubt.
What an arrogant.
"Then, as a respect. I will not do it again. Just be good too. Even if you're still a senior, if I don't like the you the way you talk to me, skreek! " I gestured my hand, making it on the same level of my neck and then I signed a death. The agent in front of me just shook his head.
"Okay so, the auction is later—"
"How many of you agents are in the auction later? " I asked her. She bit her lip. She doesn't want anyone to cut her line.
"Well, I don't know. But, mostly attendees are agents so you don't have to worry. We don't need your help anymore, Agent 44. Because all the agents are seniors. We've got a good combat skills. So that we can defeat them. You are the only juniors who were included in our group. And I really wonder that, " she replied.
My forehead furrowed.
I really can't help being annoyed with her. In my too much annoyance with her, I really wanted to stab her in the neck. But, I really needed to temper myself. We might even get into trouble.
"Okay. I just asked how many the agents will be there. Tch, you said too much. We have a better knowledge about the event later. You don't need to tutor us more. Tsk, please just take us to our rooms." She grinned.
"Follow me, then."
I sneezed when she walked over to us first.
"Seriously? She's our senior? Didn't even realized that. Tina looks older and way more-of-a-senior," Klein whispered. I glanced at him.
"I heard that! You're insulting my beauty, Agent 45," Celestina promised. My face was almost torn.
"I didn't mean to but hell yeah! Truth hurts!" Klein added.
"Hey, hey. Don't give too much headache on Agent 44. That's causing too much stress for her, she's no longer the star of our mission," Freyia said. I bit my lip.
Okay, calm down, Xeena.
Those are your co-agents.
"Awts, it feels like a pain to listen to that. So, what's the feeling? Is it a tragedy?" Celestina laughed.
"Will you all please shut up? Goodness, why did I put you on the same team? This is so hopeless…" I whispered.
"Nah, we'll do a good job so. Don't lose hope, 44. You're still the star of this mission. It's just that someone took your place." Klein tapped my shoulders.
"Stop talking like I'm depressed or anxious about that. Geez, " I sneezed again. They are really annoying. I just shook as I followed our proud senior. He took us to our rooms and good thing, we were alone. Well, this is what I really want.
I will have privacy.
Ever since H came to my dorm, I liked to always be alone in the room. I don't know but I really like it yet, I hate those feelings for him, that feeling that I'm waiting for him. I don't like that. It creeps me out.
Because of that, I always tell myself that I'm still H's enemy. He's still the Bruse mafia's leader who killed my whole family. Yeah, right. He's my enemy. A demon that needed to be killed.
