Chapter 12 THE PATH

LAWRENZ TYBALT'S POINT OF VIEW
"The key lies in understanding, Nick. Uncover the truth before it consumes you." Nick grinned at me as if he could read what's on my mind.
The path I want to take remains uncertain up until now. My high school life isn't easy; I need to work out to meet society's expectations. I need to be strong to save myself from tyranny.
The path is not just a way to fate; it is a gateway to purpose. As I hone myself to be adaptable to my work, I understand how much Nick Gregory desires the path I have. It may seem vivid to him, but all the luxury I possess means nothing because I am lost on this path.
He made my life troublesome. Nick Gregory never wins in any competition when I am his opponent, but when I stop, he begins to win it all. I know he is aiming for the good life. "Eudaimonia, you like that kind of life, Nick Gregory," I said as I congratulated him after winning the basketball competition.
He smirked, "I love hearing you talk about Memento Mori rather than the word Kaizen." He walked and bumped his shoulder into mine.
"You seem scared of me. Well, I never wanted to meet you. You started to introduce your cruelty when we were in grade 3. Remember?" I said.
He didn't respond, and I let him go. Daisy Lunaire came to hug me. "You won in the Science quiz bee! Well, why didn't your favorite enemy come to compete with you?" she asked. I was a little surprised. Is she observing us? Well, she knows the only person who always bullied me since I met her when I was in 6th grade.
"I don't know. Let's eat somewhere. Do you want to go to Wolfgang Restaurant?" I asked.
"Of course!"
When the new school year started for 10th grade, I owned up to my feelings for her. Daisy Lunaire is the lady I want to be with. I never regretted confessing as I started to court her formally. Her family welcomed me warmly. I never imagined this. One month of courtship is not enough, but she said the magical word, "yes."
My 9th grade started to praise me as I gradually changed my body form. The start of 10th grade changed my life as one of the most attractive guys. Johnny teased me because of that. My only cousin who's with me in the same school at Hera Academy.
Daisy Lunaire has a title like a princess, and I'm not comfortable being known as the prince.
As the days unfolded, Daisy Lunaire and I became inseparable. Our love blossomed, creating a sanctuary amidst the challenges of high school life. We faced quizzes, competitions, and the curious eyes of our peers together.
"Wow! You are so amazing! You are perfect together," some classmates praised us.
One afternoon, as we strolled hand in hand through Hera Academy's picturesque garden, Daisy whispered, "Lawrenz, I'm grateful to have you in my life. You've brought so much joy and meaning."
I smiled, appreciating the warmth of her words. The challenges awaited us, not just academically, but also on a personal level. Rumors and whispers began to circulate, fueled by envy and curiosity about our relationship.
Amidst the whispers, I stood my ground, defending our love. As a couple, we faced the storms that life threw at us, emerging stronger each time.
In the midst of our journey, Nick Gregory's presence remained a lingering shadow. He tried to sow seeds of doubt and create rifts, but Daisy and I remained united. Our bond became a testament to resilience, and love triumphed over the attempts to tarnish it.
As graduation approached, the path diverged once more. Daisy and I faced choices about our futures.
"Lawrenz, life has thrown us many curveballs, but facing them with you has been my greatest adventure."
In a meticulously tailored suit from Ermenegildo Zegna and handmade John Lobb shoes, Lawrenz became a walking embodiment of affluence. The Rolex Daytona on his wrist marked not just time but status and precision, a beacon of his elevated existence.
I celebrated my birthday on the yacht of my father. I didn't expect the gift from my parents. "A Lamborghini Veneno!" Johnny shouted even if it's not his gift. He is happy for me.
My cousin teased me and joked that they will borrow that. I just chuckled at them. "Thank you, Mom and Dad. You don't have to give me like this. It's expensive," I told them while drinking my wine.
"No, it's not," my father jested.
As the evening sun painted the sky with hues of orange and pink, the yacht sailed smoothly through the calm waters. The birthday celebration continued, enveloped in an air of opulence.
The laughter of friends and family mingled with the gentle waves, creating a symphony of joy. The yacht, adorned with twinkling lights, resembled a floating palace, a testament to the Tybalt family's prosperity.
Daisy Lunaire, dressed in an elegant gown, stood by Lawrenz's side, radiating grace and warmth. She whispered, "Lawrenz, this is beyond magical. Your parents truly know how to make moments unforgettable."
Lawrenz nodded, his eyes reflecting gratitude. Amidst the festivities, his thoughts drifted to the journey that brought him to this lavish celebration. The struggles, triumphs, and the unwavering love shared with Daisy painted a vivid canvas of memories.
As the night unfolded, a sumptuous feast was laid out, offering a culinary delight that matched the grandeur of the occasion. The aroma of delectable dishes filled the air, enticing everyone to indulge in the culinary masterpiece.
Guests toasted to Lawrenz's success and happiness, their glasses clinking in unison. The music played softly in the background, providing a melodic backdrop to the celebration. Lawrenz couldn't help but steal glances at Daisy, who was captivating in the soft glow of the yacht lights.
Johnny, Lawrenz's cousin, approached him with a mischievous grin. "Lawrenz, I've been eyeing that Lamborghini of yours. When do I get to take it for a spin?"
Lawrenz chuckled, "Maybe on my next birthday, Johnny. For now, let's enjoy the moment."
As the night progressed, Lawrenz found himself surrounded by well-wishers, each expressing admiration for the young man he had become. The gifts piled up, a testament to the love and respect he garnered from those around him.
Amidst the celebration, Lawrenz stole a quiet moment with Daisy on the deck of the yacht. The sea breeze played with their hair as they gazed at the stars above. Daisy whispered, "Happy birthday, Lawrenz. This is just the beginning of our journey."
Lawrenz smiled, squeezing her hand. "With you by my side, every day feels like a celebration."
The party continued into the late hours, a crescendo of joy echoing across the waters. Lawrenz, surrounded by the people he cherished, couldn't help but feel a deep sense of contentment. The birthday celebration on the luxurious yacht became a chapter in his story, a tale of resilience, love, and the unwavering pursuit of one's dreams.
