Chapter 20 Sacrifices.

In a fraction of minutes, when everyone thought they could finally rest from the nightmare, Chico's distorted voice echoed in the room, beats on the barricades pounding heavily, intensifying with each call. Lucie and Pablo exchanged nervous glances, aware that something terrible was about to happen.
Chico, sarcastically - Oh, what a beautiful romantic scene. But enough of jokes, I want to get in!
The beats continued, almost deafening. Pablo, standing firm, grabbed his weapon while Lucie stayed protected behind him.
Pablo, defiant - Don't you think you're too old for games?
Chico, laughing distantly - Oh, I just want to join the party. After all, things seem to be getting interesting around here.
Estela looked at Pablo, trembling voice - What are we going to do?
Chico, mocking - Oh, dear. Nothing you don't deserve. Now, open that door or...
The beats increased even more, as if something supernatural were trying to infiltrate the room. The atmosphere became heavy, and tension grew.
Pablo, looking at Estela and Lucie - We need to find a way to stop him before he breaks the barricade.
Lucie, thoughtfully - There's something in his voice... It's deeper.
Estela, concerned - I don't know if I can face him.
Suddenly, the beats stopped abruptly, leaving a tense silence in the air. Chico's voice, now clearer, echoed again.
Chico, with malice - Do you think you can hide? I can feel your fear. You've become a beautiful piece...
Pablo, assessing the situation - We need to prepare. He's much stronger now; I can feel it.
Lucie, looking around - I can't connect with Cleity again; she's distant...
Pablo, getting ready - Lucie, stay behind me!
Pablo, feeling Chico's sinister presence, made a difficult decision. He knew he had to use his hidden powers to face Constantino, but feared what it might unleash.
Pablo, taking a deep breath - I didn't want it to come to this, but it seems there's no other choice.
Lucie, worried - Pablo, what are you going to do?
Pablo closed his eyes and began murmuring words in an ancient and forgotten language. The room was shrouded in mysterious shadows, and Pablo's veins pulsed, revealing an aspect of himself he preferred to keep hidden.
Pablo, with white, smoky eyes, completely lifeless and toneless, revealing years of occult study - I am reaching out to forces I have studied. I need to confront this worm!
Veins on his face and neck pulsated in a strange pattern; his presence gained an eerie aura, symbols appearing all over his body, reflecting everything he had been taught. Lucie and Estela watched, fascinated and fearful at the same time.
Chico, outside, sensing the change - Ah, it seems we have a player willing to reveal himself completely. This is fun!
Pablo, facing the entity - Constantino, your power is great, but I also have my resources. Don't underestimate me!
Chico, mocking - I can't wait to see what you have to offer, my dear friend.
Chico, using all his power, finally broke the door and the barricade, revealing himself in his most sinister and bloodthirsty form. His eyes glowed in intense red, and a devilish laugh filled the room.
Chico, with a malicious smile - Finally.
Pablo, without hesitation, advanced against Chico, his white eyes now emanating supernatural energy. The confrontation began with a furious exchange of blows, each move charged with hidden power.
Pablo, delivering a precise blow - I will end you!
Chico, laughing while dodging - Oh, I can't wait to see you try.
The battle unfolded into a carnage, with both opponents willing to give their all. Each blow was accompanied by splatters of blood as the room turned into a dark war zone.
Pablo, channeling his anger - You won't terrorize this place anymore!
Chico, revealing sharp claws - Your blood will join the others I've already spilled!
The confrontation escalated with brutal blows, and the room filled with disturbing sounds of flesh being torn apart. Estela and Lucie witnessed the brutality, Lucie holding Pablo's weapon, ready to intervene if necessary.
Lucie, determined - Pablo, can you handle this?
Pablo, with a dark expression and a distorted voice from reality - I won't let him escape unpunished.
Chico, now revealing his true demonic form, unleashed a rain of dark tentacles towards Pablo. Blood spilled on the floor, mixing with the darkness enveloping the room.
Pablo, resisting the attacks - I will do this... For... Cleity!
Chico, laughing insanely - That weak being? I loved using her.
In a moment of pure chaos, Pablo unleashed an explosion of shadows, creating a storm of debris and dust. Every exchange of blows between the two was like an earthquake, a symphony of destruction.
Estela, horrified - I can't bear to see this...
Lucie, with determined eyes - Come on, Cleity! I just need you one more time!
Pablo, exhausted but relentless, focused his power for a final blow. A beam of black light cut through the air, hitting Chico head-on.
Chico, staggering - This isn't possible!
Pablo, believing to have the advantage, approached Chico slowly, his expression determined. Chico, seemingly on his knees and weak, sarcastically murmured:
Chico, smiling maliciously - How foolish you are...
Before Pablo could react, Chico surprised him with a powerful downward blow. The punch made Pablo fall to the ground, visibly weakened. Chico, revealing that he had feigned weakness to gain an advantage, taunted Pablo:
Chico, triumphant - I won't kill you now... You're one of my final works.
As Pablo struggled to get up, Chico, taking advantage of his feigned weakness, turned to Estela.
- Now it's your turn!
Lucie, trying to intervene, stood in front of Estela and fired several shots with her weapon.
- You damned worm!
But the shots seemed ineffective against Chico's demonic figure. He easily pushed Lucie aside, leaving her injured on the floor. Chico, grabbing Estela by the hair, spoke with a cruel laugh:
Chico, dragging Estela out of the room - You're my next masterpiece, Estela. Let's make this truly special.
Estela's desperate screams echoed through the mansion.
- Help me! I don't want to go! Someone help me.
While Lucie, even wounded, tried to rise, Pablo, still on the ground, slowly recovering, looked angrily as Chico disappeared with Estela.
Lucie, desperate - Pablo, we need to stop him before he does something terrible to Estela!
Pablo, getting up with difficulty - We have to... go after him...
Pablo managed to stand up with great effort, but his strength seemed to fade quickly. His body, once surrounded by powerful shadows, was returning to its normal form. Lucie, concerned, approached him.
Lucie, holding Pablo's arm - Pablo, you're very weak; we can't proceed like this.
Pablo, panting but determined - But Estela... We have to go... I almost had it...
Lucie placed Pablo's arm over her shoulders, offering support.
Lucie, with concern - Pablo, you did what you could. Now, you need to rest. We can't help Estela if you collapse on the way.
Pablo, reluctant, allowed Lucie to help him walk. The mansion was shrouded in tense silence, interrupted only by Estela's distant screams echoing through the corridors. The two moved slowly toward the unknown, seeking a way to rescue Estela from Chico's clutches.
As they walked, Pablo spoke, his voice weakened:
Pablo, determined - We need to find a way to get Estela back. Chico can't escape unpunished.
Lucie, supporting Pablo - I agree, but you need to recover first. And as for Estela... I don't know if she's still alive...
Pablo, struggling to stand - Maybe you're right. Let's rest for a while and then continue.
The two found a safe place in the mansion, away from the ongoing chaos. Pablo sat down, his irregular breathing revealing the exhaustion from his confrontation with Chico.
Lucie, concerned - You need to rest. I'll look for supplies in your bag.
As Lucie stepped away to search for resources, Pablo closed his eyes, trying to regain his strength. The vision of the bloody battle and Chico's cruel laughter still echoed in his mind.
Pablo, murmuring to himself - I'll kill him, no matter what it takes...
Lucie returned with supplies, including bandages and antibiotics. She knelt beside Pablo, concerned about the wounds he had suffered during the intense battle.
Lucie, opening the backpack - Pablo, you need to take care of these injuries. It will help maintain your strength.
Pablo, grateful - Thank you, Lucie. I'm weaker than I expected.
Lucie began to clean and treat Pablo's wounds, her expression serious as she focused on the task.
Lucie, with care - Do you truly believe we can win this, Pablo?
Pablo, looking into the distance for a moment - We have to win, Lucie. If Chico leaves here stronger, the whole village will be in danger.
While Lucie tended to Pablo's wounds, a sense of heaviness hung in the air. When she finished, she sat beside him, and the two remained silent for a moment, observing the darkness around them.
Lucie, breaking the silence - Pablo, I can't help but wonder if all this sacrifice is worth it. I'm here by chance, and you might end up dying.
Pablo, gazing at the distant horizon - Lucie, this is my life, my calling. I came here to prevent a greater evil from spreading. If we don't close this portal, Chico could leave the mansion and wreak havoc in the village. I'm here to protect the people.
Lucie, with a sigh - I just... I just don't want to lose you, Pablo.
Pablo placed a gentle hand on Lucie's face, looking into her eyes.
Pablo, tenderly - Lucie, what I do is dangerous, but it's what I know. I can't promise everything will be fine, but I'll fight to protect you and everyone in the village.
Lucie, with a faint smile - I know you're doing what you believe is right. I just... I just don't want it to be in vain.
Pablo, looking down for a moment - Me neither, Lucie. But sometimes, to stop evil, we have to face it head-on, no matter the cost.
They remained silent for a moment, absorbing the gravity of the situation. The distant sounds of screams and crashes echoed through the mansion, reminding them of the imminent danger.
Pablo, breaking the silence - We need to continue. I'm not dead yet, and the entire village depends on us.
Lucie nodded, determined, and the two stood up to continue. As they headed towards even greater challenges ahead, the fate of the village was in the hands of Pablo and Lucie, and they were willing to confront the darkness.
