Deanara Samaniego's POV
"Hey, Matt!" I replied and it was really awkward to do it in front of Gray.
It wasn't that I was doing something wrong. I didn't even know that his number was still working. It's just I am not sure about Mattel's plan and he might say something that Gray would entirely be jealous of.
I know Mattel, he can make someone fall in love with his words. I did fall, remember? And, right now, I hate to admit it because I am afraid that might happen again.
Honestly, I am having mixed feelings and it was really hard especially that Mattel and I weren't able to finish our story or should I say it didn't end well.
Now, all I want is to see him and end it. Although, is that really it?
I sighed. I could no longer distinguish my feelings. But, one thing, I know it's Gray I want to be with me.
"What is it?" I tried to make my voice grumpy because he deserves it after all these years.
"You are still using this number." He replied in his husky voice.
Gray scoffed and whispered. "What's with the seductive voice?"
"Uh, what do you need?"
Damn! I cursed in my mind. I really don't know what to say knowing I am in front of Gray. This is hard! What is he thinking right now?
Mattel is giving me a headache and a heartache.
"Where are you now? Can I see you?" He excitedly said. "I know we didn't get to talk about things about us when I left, but can we do it now? Where are you? I'll pick you-"
"She's with her boyfriend." Gray said before ending the call and blocking his number.
"I am a very jealous boyfriend, so..." He grinned at me. "Stop talking to him."
"Will you stop talking to Vivian, then?" I turned to him.
Isn't that quite unfair that I am the only one who would do it? He's been very close to Vivian. I never said a thing about it because I get that they were friends before they became together and I just couldn't win with the years they spent together. I never intended to open it up to him because I might be afraid of his response, that he might choose Vivian over me.
"Vivian is my workmate. That's different with you and Mattel." He replied. "And, you don't have to worry about her like I said."
"Would you believe me if I said that to you with regards to Mattel?"
He fell into silence which made me realize that he was having second thoughts.
"What's the difference between the two? Mattel is my friend before I even know you." I said.
I am not starting a fight but it pisses me that he doesn't trust me. Well, I doubt myself, too, but I don't think I will choose Mattel over him. I might have second thoughts but I know it will end if I talk to Mattel. I just want to know what happened to us and actually clarify my feelings.
"Why are you not saying a thing now?" I scoffed.
"Mattel still loves you." He sighed. "And, I am just afraid that if you see him, you might change your feelings for me."
"Vivian still loves you." I stated.
"What?" He raised his brow. "That's not true. She's already with - -"
"But, you still see each other even though she's with Ethan. Am I right?" I asked.
I am not sure but when he didn't say a thing, I must be right.
I picked up all my things and before leaving I told him, "That makes me not the only one having second thoughts in this relationship."
He didn't follow me. And, we both sleep still not talking to each other.
I thought it would go like that until the next day, however, I was wrong as he called me.
I stared at his name for a moment before answering it. I could never get mad at him for long. And, I wasn't mad, just pissed.
"You up?"
"Yeah." I simply replied.
"Then, can you go to the balcony?"
"Oh...why?" I said as I looked for my slippers.
I shoved away the curtain and opened the glass window to the balcony. The rays of the sun hit my eyes, making me close it.
"C'mon, don't close your eyes, babe! You won't be able to see my surprise." He chuckled. "I love you."
He ended the call and I stood there waiting for a surprise. It took a minute before I saw jet planes flying above the sky. It was a few miles from our place and I'll bet I am not the only one seeing this now. Yet, I felt how lucky I am as I know this is indeed for me, even luckier if Gray is really one of the pilots of the jet planes.
Gray never failed to make me smile and knew where to tickle my cold heart everytime we had a fight. How can I stay mad at him? He must have thought about this the whole night and even prepared for this one, so yeah, forgiven. Well, we didn’t exactly fight.
I just thought that he disregarded my feelings, but his actions speak louder. It may be the fact that words nowadays fail, and I loved how he could easily show it to me. It’s hard to believe in things, but I trust him like I said. It is Vivian that I don’t.
But, I don’t want to think about it now. It would just ruin the day considering Gray had made this surprise for me.
Is he flying the jet planes? Where is he?
I tried calling again but he is no longer answering it.
The jet planes continued flying above the sky and after a minute stopped. I stood there in awe as they started circling together and the smoke released from each jet plane saying, I love you.
I couldn’t get lucky anymore. I was speechless the whole time until all the jet planes were gone from the sky. I just stared blankly thinking how amazing Gray is. It’s when I knew that I didn't want him to get hurt. I know, I should start to clear the things between Mattel and I. It would start by talking to him now.
After the show was done, I started calling Gray as the doorbell rang. Lyuna wasn’t around, so I was the one excitedly running towards the door to see Gray. He’s fast considering the distance of our place to the location where the jet plane had performed. Or did he not fly with them?
My questions were answered when I didn’t see Gray in front of our door.
Instead, I saw my mother.
