Chapter 19
The longer it goes on, the more it becomes a thought. This world is scary. When I came back with memories where I felt that this strangeness was actually very real, as soon as I felt there was something wrong with me, I thought if only that were the case. Since then, Ella and I started to talk a lot about the strangeness that I felt. It turns out I wasn't the only one who was surprised. Ella also said that to me and kept asking. The more questions that arise, the more confused I become. Nothing interesting so far. I always feel that there is something wrong with some things that happen. Lately it's been the same and of course really strange. The last time I saw myself, I met the nurse and it actually made me even more confused. It was as if what I saw was an executioner who was ready to punish me at any time. This time I was even more convinced of myself that there was something they were hiding. Ella then held me as I got up from my seat and tried to confirm something. It turned out that when I was trying hard to see what was outside, I immediately peeked through the hole in the door. There I saw the next door neighbor and others just coming out of their own rooms. The atmosphere in the dormitory, which is usually quite comfortable, has now changed. I don't know why I almost feel uncomfortable and always alert to something. Ella, who usually doesn't care about things like this and only thinks about tomorrow, now joins in with me and this is what happens. So far I've felt quite a strange and disturbing thing and now I intend to reveal it all to everyone here. But, it turns out it wasn't as easy as I imagined. Today I met the head nurse again. The eyes that radiated light made me feel that if I only guessed the contents of my mind, maybe I would never come back. Occasionally I also looked away because I couldn't bear to keep looking at the nurse who seemed to be intimidating me. This time I also tried to be patient and not long after the nurse asked me something. I was immediately surprised and I spontaneously answered the question. After that, I walked to the library just to calm down. When I got there, I met Ella who seemed curious about what had happened to me before. After I thought about it, it turned out that I had been trapped for a long time and the possibility of getting out was very minimal. Likewise with Ella.
"You are okay? What happened? Sister said something to you?”
"Yes."
"What's that?"
“It seems like all this time what I've been thinking about is just going to be in vain. There is no way out. Even if you try as hard as you can. That is absolutely impossible.”
"What do you mean?"
“We won't be able to leave this place forever.”
"What? But why?"
“Everything is clear. This is prison. They deliberately locked us up here and weren't allowed to go out because the outside world was very cruel. Even though it's almost as cruel here. Isn't this crazy?”
"Wait, if that's what they want, then why are they willing to send the child chosen by the family who wants to adopt?"
“Isn't that the concept of all orphanages? In other words, it is a transaction."
“You think they're selling us out on purpose?”
"That's a crueler expression."
"Good grief. What the hell?”
“Now it's just a matter of time. Who will be next. Maybe Liona is actually gone too."
"You're wrong," said someone from behind loudly.
"What?" Ella asked.
“You guys are actually still too shallow to think that.”
“Hey. What do you mean Olivera?”
“Listen Isabella, Ella. Don't be too reckless if you still want to breathe. Just pretend you don't know anything and don't force yourself to dig deeper. Later you will find out for yourself what really lies behind the darkness there."
“Why did you tell us?”
"Because I don't want any more victims."
“Eh?” Isabella and Ella said at the same time. Not long after, Olivera left the two of them.
"Can the child's words be trusted?" Ella asked.
"Who knows. I'm still not sure.”
"But if what the child said is true, I think what you said makes a lot of sense. We can't get out of this prison and just wait for someone to set us free. Want to sell or something like that which is clear from here. That is the most likely means of escape.”
"It's just that I'm still thinking about Liona. I want to know where the child is now."
Meanwhile, right now in a dark room underground. Liona then opened her eyes and saw iron bars in front of her eyes. In shock, he immediately screamed loudly. Not long after, someone behind the bars at the front immediately said something to Liona. The sound sounded very soft but clear. After that Liona cried and could no longer get out of here. The person there then said something else to Liona which made Liona fall silent again. After this, Liona still couldn't believe what happened to Liona. Surprisingly, it's really fast and seems full of pain.
"What do you mean by that? And who are you?” Liona asked.
“It doesn't matter who I am. You probably don't know me either."
“Then how did you get here?”
"I think the story is almost similar to yours."
"What are you saying?"
“The world is evil, isn't it? Even for teenagers like you.”
"I know. But, why am I here? And what does all this mean? Why am I in prison? What have I done? Honestly, I've never done anything bad."
“I expected it. It's impossible for a good person like you to do evil. There's only one reason why you're here."
"What's that? Don't say that...”
Currently the atmosphere in the library is still busy with several people. Those who come not only want to read books but quite a few also want to chat. There is a history of why humans always sin. Not only that, they don't even realize that they have made a big mistake. Surprisingly, they didn't want to apologize for their actions. Ella was still shaking and now looked uneasy. I just thought maybe this was the first way to get into something that was more dangerous. On the one hand, I'm also curious about myself, which I never remember at all. As if I were addicted to drugs that cause loss of nerve function.Download Novelah App
