Chapter 30 GRADUATION

After the graduation ceremony, the air was filled with a mix of excitement and nostalgia. Aleena and Damian had successfully completed their high school journey, and the future held endless possibilities for them. As they left the graduation venue, they found themselves walking toward a cozy little restaurant, holding hands and grinning from ear to ear.
Aleena had planned a special dinner with their parents to celebrate not only their graduation but also the exciting news they had to share. Nottingham University had accepted both of them into their prestigious program, and they were determined to continue their academic journey together.

Aleena's parents were delighted to join them for the celebration. The restaurant was charming, with soft lighting and a soothing ambiance that encouraged heartfelt conversations. A reserved corner table awaited them, adorned with fresh flowers and sparkling candles.

Taking a deep breath, Damian spoke from his heart, "Aunt Fea and Uncle Joe, I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to both of you. You have welcomed me into your home with open arms, and I can't thank you enough for your kindness and generosity."

Aleena’s mom smiled warmly, her eyes filled with genuine affection. "Oh, Damian, you are like a second child to us. Having you here has brought so much joy to our family."

Her father nodded in agreement, his voice filled with warmth. "You're a part of our family now, Damian. We've watched you and Aleena study together and helped each other, and we're proud of the strong bond you share."
Damian's heart swelled with emotion, and he continued, "I want you to know that living with you has been a truly life-changing experience for me. Your support and encouragement have meant the world to me. I promise to do my best to make you proud as Aleena and I embark on this new journey together to Nottingham University."

Tears welled up in her mom's eyes as she reached out to gently pat Damian's shoulder. "We have no doubt that you will achieve great things, Damian. Your dedication and love for Aleena are evident, and that's all we could ever ask for."

Her dad placed a reassuring hand on Damian's shoulder as well, conveying his support. "Remember, Damian, you always have a home here with us. We're here for you every step of the way. Please do not hesitate to come to us if you have any problems"

Damian's heart felt lighter, knowing that he had not only Aleena's unwavering support but also the love and acceptance of her parents. With a heartfelt smile, he replied, "Thank you. Your words mean the world to me. I'm truly blessed to have you in my life."

‘Okay! Now its my turn!’ said Aleena brightly.

Aleena couldn't contain her excitement any longer. She turned to Damian with a mischievous smile and said, "Mom, Dad and Damian.. You know, I have something to tell you guys  tonight that might just make this celebration even more memorable."

They raised their eyebrow, intrigued and simultaneously said "Oh really? What's the big secret?"
Aleena voice filled with excitement. "Well, you know how we got accepted into Nottingham University, right?"
Her parents nodded, their eyes shining with pride. "Yeah, that's amazing news. I still can't believe it."

Aleena squeezed her hand, "Well, here's the twist. I applied for a scholarship, and guess what? I got it! A full scholarship that covers tuition and living expenses for both of us. Me and Damian!"

Damian's jaw dropped in astonishment. "Are you serious? That's incredible, Aleena! You're amazing!"
Aleena blushed, pleased by Damian's reaction. "I thought it would be the perfect way for us to stay together and continue our journey in the university"

Both her mom and dad couldn't stop smiling. "You're not just amazing; you're the best! Both of you! We are very proud. This is fantastic news!"
The dinner ended with a delightful dessert that they all shared, savoring each sweet bite. Damian felt an overwhelming sense of belonging, knowing that he was not only welcomed into Aleena's family but that they were also excited about their future.

As they left the restaurant, Aleena and Damian walked hand in hand under the starry night sky, their hearts full of gratitude and excitement. Nottingham University awaited them, and together, with the unwavering support of their parents, they were ready to embark on this new chapter of their lives.

Their love and friendship had brought them this far, and now, it would be the foundation upon which they built their future, side by side, as they pursued their dreams together in a distant land. The world was their oyster, and with a scholarship in hand and the family unwavering support, they knew they could achieve anything they set their minds to. The graduation ceremony had marked the end of one chapter, but the adventure of a lifetime was just beginning.
