Chapter 22 Forever

"Oh my god, Harris, look at this! It's so adorable!"

Isabella and Harris were enjoying their usual weekend outing, strolling through the neighborhood. On this warm afternoon, Isabella suggested they visit a local bazaar. The streets were lined with pop-up stalls filled with vibrant merchandise and delicious street food.

Isabella's excitement was palpable as she slapped Harris's shoulder in excitement, her eyes shining as they landed on an item that caught her attention.

"Hey, you don't have to bruise me," Harris joked.

Harris was more interested in the food, but Isabella enjoyed browsing through the shops, especially those selling handmade items like the keychain store they were in front of.

"Look at these, aren't they adorable?"

Harris playfully remarked, "Are you five?"

Ignoring his comment, Isabella held up a brown bear keychain and beamed at Harris, who gave her an amused look.

"What's with that face?"

"And this white rabbit is cute too!"

Isabella held up a white rabbit keychain in her other hand while still gripping the bear.

"Good choices. The handmade keychains are 2 for $10. They're quite popular among couples and best friends," the shopkeeper informed them.

"Wow, that's great! Let's get one for each other!" Isabella suggested with excitement, swinging the keychains near her face.

Harris grimaced and quickly removed the keychains from Isabella's hand, placing them back on the counter. "No, sorry, we're just browsing. Thank you."

"Why, why, why?" Isabella whined as Harris pulled her away from the stall. He glared at her playfully, rolling his eyes.

They continued walking around for a while before deciding to find a place to sit and grab some food.

"What do you want to eat?"

"Something not too greasy or heavy. Do you want a special drink or the usual?"

"Surprise me. You can buy any drinks. I'll meet you back here."

Isabella wandered through the colorful drink stalls, scanning the signs for something that caught her eye. She eventually settled on a tall pink drink topped with whipped cream and strawberries. She made her way to the vendor with her signature bright smile.

"What took you so long? And what's that?" Harris asked as he noticed Isabella carefully holding a tall pink drink.

Isabella finally reached their seat and let out a relieved breath as she placed her drink down. "I was trying not to buy this! It looked so pretty I couldn't resist. Oh, and we got quite a bit of food."

"What is it, babe?"

"Try it, try, try!"

Harris brought the drink to his lips and took a sip. His eyes widened momentarily before narrowing as he looked at Isabella with a deadpan expression. "Isabella! It is just......."

"Strawberry milkshake."

"But Harris... you need to know that I love strawberry more than I love you, babe". Then, Isabella burst into laughter.

Later that evening when they arrived home, Isabella was on her bed when she heard a knock on her door. Harris poked his head in.

"Um... I found something in my bag that you left behind," he said.

Before Isabella could respond, Harris tossed something onto her bed and quickly retreated to his own room, saying a hasty "good night."

Isabella sat on her bed, looking at the closed door in confusion. "What in the world was that about?"

Her attention shifted to the item that had been thrown onto her bed – a small white paper bag, folded into a square. She couldn't remember purchasing anything of that size. Curious, Isabella reached out and felt the soft, round shape of the item. She slowly opened the bag and peeked inside. Her jaw dropped in surprise.

"Look at this bear, looks like you!"

She bit her lip in excitement as she pulled out the small brown bear keychain she had seen earlier at the stall. Holding it up, she let it dangle from her finger, a content smile gracing her face. She couldn't wait to attach it to her bag and show it off around the university.

As she fell asleep that night, the bear keychain lay close to her heart.

The following morning, Isabella woke up with the bear keychain still sitting on her bedside table. Its tiny, stitched eyes seemed to peer into her soul. She reached for it, her fingers brushing against its soft, plush fur. Memories of the previous day's visit to the bazaar with Harris filled her mind.

A warm, fuzzy feeling washed over her as she remembered Harris's playful teasing and the way he had reluctantly agreed to buy the keychains for each other. She couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement deep within her. It was moments like these that made their relationship so special.

As Isabella got ready for the day, she carefully attached the bear keychain to her bag, ensuring it had a prominent place where everyone could see it. It wasn't just a cute accessory; it was a symbol of the love and connection she shared with Harris.

Once she was ready, Isabella headed to the kitchen, where Harris was already making breakfast. The aroma of pancakes filled the air, and Isabella couldn't help but smile as she entered the room.

"Good morning," she greeted him, her voice filled with warmth.

Harris turned to her, a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "Good morning, sleepyhead. Did you sleep well?"

Isabella chuckled, knowing full well that she had been the last to wake up that morning. "I did, thank you. And thank you for the keychain. It's adorable."

Harris grinned, flipping a pancake with expert precision. "You're welcome. I couldn't resist."

As they sat down to eat breakfast together, Isabella couldn't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for the love and happiness that had found its way into her life. It wasn't just about the bear keychain; it was about the person who had given it to her, the person who had filled her life with laughter, joy, and countless cherished memories.

As they enjoyed their pancakes and shared stories about their day ahead, Isabella couldn't help but think that sometimes the smallest gestures held the most profound meaning. The bear keychain had become a symbol of their love, a reminder of the beautiful journey they were on together.
