Chapter Thirty-Six -Kiss

Chapter Thirty-Six : Kiss
"How did it go?"
"Great, thanks to you."
I flashed him a sickly-sweet smile, dripping with every ounce of sarcasm I could ever muster. Oskar raised a brow, looking at me intently.
"Are you being sarcastic right now?"
"It's that obvious?" I sardonically replied, slamming the books on the desk too harshly that it created a loud thud which made the other occupants of the library stare at me. Oops, too loud in that matter.
"I was right. You are sarcastic."
"No sh*t, Sherlock," I spat sourly.
"So, did things went wrong?" he laid back freely on his seat, placing his arms under his head as cushion. "—did Tom reject you or---"
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Why would Tom reject me? Did you expect me to confess non-existent feelings to him?"
He blew a breath like it was factual. "I thought you did."
"Well you're wrong," I grumbled, looking away. "—in fact, this is all your fault."
"My fault?" he murmured under his breath, eyeing me. "---for what? Bringing you two together?"
"Ha. Yeah right. You did the exact opposite, Mr. Kupido."
"Which is why it's your fault," I glared at him, jabbing my finger to his face accusingly. "—saying such unnecessary things. You only not made things awkward between us, but I also had to found that he....uh..well, whatever!"
I cleared my throat. "Anyway, this is your fault."
"Oh, I see," he flashed me his lazy grin. "---so, it's my fault? Well, I guess it is."
"You admit it?"
"Of course. I mean I started this plan after all," he says this like he's a genius with his perfect scheme. Too much arrogance kills you.
He stops, then realizes the slip of his tongue. I smirked, threatening as I neared close to him with my knuckles clenched close. "Did you say plan? Care to elaborate?"
"It's nothing. Plan! I mean the plan for the festival bo--- ow! Ow! Stop! Please!"
"Fine! I'll tell you!" he cried, lightly patting my hand to let go of his arm. "---I'm getting battered every time I see you, I swear."
He looks at me wearily. "Don't hit me. Promise?"
"I will hit you."
He sighed, resigning to his fate as he peered an eye open. "I knew that Tom had a crush on you this whole time. It was so crazy obvious that guy was over the heels for you."
"And so?" I rolled my eyes.
"Since you appreciated my music and didn't see me as a failure," he trails off, grinning at me. "—I decided I might as well lend a hand."
"You mean causing havoc?" I rephrased, cocking a brow.
"So, I decided to act as the villain."
"Villain? How?" I murmured to him in confusion.
"I decided to act like I had a crush on you," he winked. The nerve. "—because I knew it provoked Tom and it did."
"The plan was going too well," he stared up the ceiling. "—but then you two had a fall-out. I didn't expect that. So, as the final blow...."
He prolonged, making me start to get agitated. "---I asked you out on a date."
He waved his hand at me. "The rest was up to you."
"You mean putting the burden on me when it's your fault?" I scoffed, crossing my arms.
"Exactly."
This guy...
He heaved, crossing his arms to his chest. "So, did he confess his feelings?"
I grumbled, lowering my gaze. "Don't even remind me."
"Why? Because you can't admit yourself that you like him?" he replied bluntly, not even wary of his words.
"I swear I'll hit you," I taunted, raising my hand up. He immediately shields himself with his arms.
"I don't like him."
"Why? Why can't you like him?"
I stared at him. "Why? Because I'm not interested."
"Can you really say that to someone you kissed?" he blurted, tilting his head to the side.
My body froze. Then I stared at Oskar's determined eyes with seething anger and embarrassment. As much I hated it, my cheeks blushed despite my despise to it.
"What...are you saying?" my voice trembled. "—that never happened."
"I saw it."
"What?"
"You two kissing," he pointed out casually like this was a normal occurrence. Of course it isn't! Who has conversations like this anyway?! He's a guy for Pete sake!
It's as if when I thought my face couldn't get any redder, it did. I chuckled sourly, starting to lose my calm. "You must be imagining things."
"I saw you two by the clinic," he insisted, not at all fazed. "---kissing."
"We were not kissing!" I screeched. "---there was something in my eye and he blew it!"
"You were kissing."
"Stop saying it!"
"Kissing."
"You."
"St---"
"And."
"I'll kill---"
"Him."
He shrugged, peeking an eye open. "People don't kiss if they don't like each other, Avery."
I sneered. "So actors and actresses harbor feelings to every person they kissed?"
"But I'm referring to you two," he pestered. "---you like him. Just admit it. It'll make things easier."
"You like—no probably maybe love, no, I guess that's too strong," he shakes his head, debating with himself.
"That's why you act so cold around him," he continued. "---because you have feelings for him."
I chuckled sourly. "I don't. I know myself way better than you."
"But you do know that some people can also see things you don't know about yourself," he countered. "—and that is you denying or not trying to realize it."
"Stop making things up," I grumbled.
"Then, if you don't. .how about considering to like him then," he tilts his head. "—I'm pretty sure he'll take good care of you and can keep you on a leash."
"A leash? What am I? A pet?"
"Well, not really. But, you two are complete opposites."
"Doesn't that contrast what you just said?" I huffed.
"I'm saying it in a good way," he smiled. "—opposites match together, Avery. If you have something lacking, Tom will give you that and so on forth."
"You complete each other. Is what I want to say," he concluded his stupid statement.
"So...how about reconsidering and think about it?"
