Chapter 116. The Former.

“Quickly too,” said Marsha, who was sitting in a café with a woman, different from the two days before. Marsha's words caught Marissa's attention, she tried to peek at Marsha's cellphone only to see the screen had turned black. A squeak escaped the woman's lips before she finally sat back in her chair sweetly. “You haven't seen Dave for a long time, have you?”
"Why do you know about him? I'm not in the mood to hear his name at all. Just imagine, I was kicked out of his office!” Marissa cried excitedly, or furiously. Even though he had often told this problem to Marsha, it seemed like he was still not satisfied to channel all his feelings. Marsha even smiled awkwardly at Marissa's words and actions, but chose to remain silent.
“You… miss him, right? Want to meet him?” Marissa now gaped, she blinked several times to make sure what she heard was true. Marissa tilted her head, causing Marsha to take a deep breath. It turns out that having a friend like Marissa is also quite difficult. “I have a way, so you can meet Dave. But, I want you to promise me first that you can really make Dave focus on you.”
Marissa's frown deepened. He didn't understand the terms at all. At the same time, he also felt that something was off. However, if the bet is to meet Dave, then he will do anything for it. She already misses him and doesn't know what else to do to be able to meet him. Even when he contacted Dave, they were all turned down. That's why Marissa's frustration grew.
Enthusiastically, Marissa finally nodded her head, agreeing to Marsha's wishes without saying much. A sly smile appeared on Marsha's lips, but Marissa didn't think anything strange about it. He even smiled too, a smile full of pleasure that seemed odd compared to the woman beside him. People who were watching could misunderstand them if they paid attention a little longer.
“Then, the chat that you just got, from whom?” Marsha raised one eyebrow, the grin on his face replaced quickly.
“Oh, that. Just get in touch. For details on how and when, I'll tell you later, OK? The point is, you have to follow my words in everything.
Still feeling confused and curious, Marissa just nodded her head. “I believe in you, really.”
"Okay! If so, I'll go first, okay? Wait for a message from me!”
With those words, Marsha finally left Marissa, who was still confused. Not knowing what to do, he himself finally finished his order and left. For several days, Marissa felt a little worried because Marsha did not contact her. No messages, no calls, absolutely no news. He even thought that Marsha was lying to him, until one day he sent a message saying to meet Dave while he was out tomorrow meeting with a client. A smile appeared on Marissa's lips as she read that. I think he cannot wait to meet with Dave.
On the day of the meeting, of course, Dave didn't know about Marissa's arrival at all, the woman was wearing makeup that was so charming, different from her usual self. In fact, every man who saw Marissa opened their mouths in amazement. Of course, this made Marissa feel very confident and happy. Furthermore, He was sure that Dave would be happy when he saw him. When she got to where Marsha had been told, Marissa could immediately find Dave, who was shining in her eyes among everyone in the crowd.
“Okay, that's all for our meeting.” Dave nodded his head when he heard the voices of the leaders. He rose to his feet and shook her hand. Marissa, who was watching from behind, smiled even wider.
“Great presentation, I look forward to working together in the future. I hope the results will be satisfying, okay?” said Dave, his smile was so charming in Marissa's eyes.
“Are you having guests?” The man who shook Dave's hand whispered, making sure that only the boy heard him.
"Visitor? No, after me, it's me…” Before Dave could finish speaking, the man stopped Dave and gave a mischievous smile. He also chuckled a little.
“Why do you have to lie? It's fine to tell the truth if you really want to meet someone.” At first, the man smiled before finally putting on a surprised expression. He also covered his mouth, as if realizing what he said was wrong. “Or maybe this was supposed to be a secret, so you didn't say anything? Wow, so sorry. In that case, my workers and I will leave immediately. Enjoy your time with that woman, huh.”
“Woman?” Dave, who heard that, tilted his head. “But I ….” Dave's words were again cut off when he turned his body. This time he could see the woman mentioned.
“Hello, Dave,” Marissa said. Seeing the woman in front of him, Dave's facial expression immediately turned sour. He, too, frowned, not liking the sudden arrival at all. “It's been a long time since we met. How are you? It seems fine, your business also seems to be running smoothly. Let's talk for a while, shall we?”
“I can't, I'm busy,” said Dave, who was trying to walk past Marissa.
Unlike the other men who were amazed by Marissa's appearance, Dave didn't seem bothered at all. He just frowned disapprovingly. Perhaps the hatred in his heart was greater than anything else he could feel. When Dave was beside Marissa, the woman immediately held his hand, gripping it tightly. It wasn't that Dave couldn't shake himself off, he was just afraid he would hurt women with his actions. He can often lose control of himself.
Trying to calm himself, Dave glared at Marissa. Before he could give anything in return, Marissa had already spoken. Everything he did he had learned all night, thanks to Marsha. He said if he said all this, he could get Dave's attention and make him stay, want to look at him or talk to him. It's true, as soon as Aini's name was mentioned by Marissa, Dave could feel his body stiffen, his eyes also widened when he looked at the woman who was still holding his hand.
"How? Are you curious about what I want to say right now?” Dave bit his lower lip, he hesitated to decide. He never knew whether Marissa had a trick or not. In a way, Marissa could have been telling the truth, but what if this was the same trap as last time?
“No, I will not believe you.” With those firm words, Dave stamped his hand for Marissa to release. However, the woman was stronger than expected.
“Are you really going to let Aini be hurt? You know… how much Leo hates Aini? And I think you also know the rotten plans Leo is making. Therefore, I can help you. As long as you believe in me, then I can guarantee Aini is fine!”
Dave, who heard that, lowered his head before, looking at Marissa sadly. “Aini… this is all for Aini, right?”
