CHAPTER 11: RUINS OF THE UNDEAD
It was past dinner time, and Mira did not eat her dinner yet. Macy was concerned that Mira might starve herself as a result of her refusal to leave Bella's side. The moment Macy arrived into Bella's chamber, she found Mira sitting alongside Bella's bed, her knees clenched in her arms. Mira had been sitting in the same spot for quite some time. As soon as Macy stepped into the room, she walked straight to Mira and checked on her. "Dear, you should eat something," said Macy. She was holding a dinner tray in her hands, which she was using to deliver the meal to Mira. The gentle reply came from Mira, who tightened her grasp on her knees even more as she spoke. “I'll wait for Bella,” she said softly. They both lapsed into complete quiet during the entire minute they spent staring at Bella. Macy was unable to say anything while Mira struggled to keep her tears from streaming down her face. Macy is upset by her daughter's current state, but she is also aware that Mira is even more upset than she is since she treats Bella as if she is her own little sister. She knew that it was not only her who was sad over her daughter's current status. All of them who truly care about Bella is depressed, but they are determined to remain strong for Bella’s sake. Macy left the tray of dishes on the bedside table. She attempted to pat Mira on the back of the head, but she hesitated and withdrew her hand. “Eat before the dish becomes cold,” Macy stated in a low voice before walking out of the room. Mirabella was trailing her out of the room to take a dump. With a disturbed expression on her face, Macy glanced back at Mira and then at Bella for one more time before carefully closing the door behind her. All of them are dealing with their own emotions at the moment. In the midst of having problems comforting herself, Macy was at a loss for what to say to Mira in order to soothe her. She was well aware that they would all have to deal with the emotions they were currently experiencing. Bella had been unconscious for more than 18 hours at this point, and Mira’s stomach continued to grumble. However, Mira didn’t even bother to eat anything because the discomfort was too much for her to bear. She had the impression that she would vomit anything she placed in her mouth, including water. The only thing she did was sit next to Bella, burying her face between her knees and thinking about the moments she had spent with Bella in previous years. Mirabella was resting down on her belly, just below Mira. Her troubled eyes are fixed on Mira as if she were trying to keep an eye on her. Mirabella was worried about her since Mira hadn’t eaten anything yet and hadn’t slept for the entire time since Bella fainted. [¬º-°]¬ [¬º-°]¬ [¬º-°]¬ “Where am I?” Bella was standing in a pitch-black room when a small beam of light slowly appeared from above her. Under the light, she found a massive piece of glass around eight meters away from where she was standing. An attractive young lady appeared in front of her. The lady in the reflection glanced at her as she got closer to the glass. Bella approached the young lady, and as she drew closer, she noticed that it was her own reflection that she was seeing. The young lady in the mirror appeared to be a little grown-up than she was. Her feet barely touched the ground as her body and her long wavy hair floated in the air. Both of them were wearing the same clothes, a crimson flowy dress with no shoes, hair that was a little longer and curled at the ends, and a lifelike butterfly crown that had been formed and placed on top of each of their heads. “Who are you?” After noticing that her mirror was not following her motions, Bella asked. “I am you.” The voice echoed in the area. “Me?” Bella’s brows were furrowed in confusion. “Your other half,” says the lady in the reflection. Bella was perplexed, but she was also calmed by the soothing voice, which sounded like it came from a deity’s mouth. “I am the red bead,” explained the lady. “You found me and became a part of you.” On the other hand, Bella had no idea what the young lady was talking about. “We are here to rule this world,” the reflection continued. “We?” Bella was perplexed. “Uhmhum,” the reflection hummed in anticipation of a positive response. “I attempted to take command of you. It happened more than once, but your body just couldn’t take it no matter how hard I try.” The lady in the reflection gracefully landed her feet on the ground. “This time, you even fainted,” the young lady in her reflection said with great clarity. “You are weak. Still weak,” she stated emphatically. “Excuse me?” Bella exclaimed in a rage. “Bella is strong,” she corrected. Bella was irritated even more when she noticed that her reflection was gently chuckling. Bella pouted and let out a resounding “hmp!” as she crossed her arms across her chest and lightly rolled her eyes. “What is this place?” Bella asked. Her gaze roved over the surrounding. It was pitch black. All Bella can see is a small beam of light coming from above, as well as her eerily similar reflection, which is more than likely imprisoned in a large piece of glass. “You’re in my world.” When the young girl waved one of her hands, a tiny beam of light began to expand from its original size. Bella shielded her eyes with her arms and gradually adjusted her vision since the light was too bright for her eyes to handle. Bella was amused, and her jaws dropped. “Wow...” She made a 360-degree rotation with her hands in the air. A genuine smile formed on her lips as she turned around. Suddenly, the entire location becomes visible in a matter of seconds. Bella found herself in a swampy area devoid of trees, surrounded by cloudberries, and a swarm of butterflies swarmed about her. “So this is your world?” Bella asked while allowing a swallowtail to land on her finger. “Ours,” the young lady pointed out. Bella faced the lady in the reflection. “Ours?” She chuckled as she examined the eyes in her own reflection, attempting to determine whether or not it was a joke. “Yes,” the mirror responded emphatically. “The moment you took the vaccine, death followed,” she added. It seemed as though she had no intention of changing her expression for Bella to take the matter seriously. “Huh?” Bella’s demeanor shifted dramatically. She was a full and utter jumble of thoughts. The young lady in the enormous glass sighed, knowing she’d have to break down every detail for Bella piece by piece. She was well aware that she would have a lot of work on her hands since Bella was still too young to possess the red bead that had the power to control the undead. “The time you took your jab, your blood flow is slowed and blocked. If you haven’t found the red bead any sooner, all those who took the wrong vaccines will slowly turn into evil.” The lady fixed her eyes on Bella. Bella was taken aback and filled with disbelief all at the exact moment. “It was the bead that saved your lives.” The reflection looked into Bella’s eyes, hoping she heard and understood what she was saying. Bella has no clue whether or not she should take her statements seriously. She believes everything that is happening right now was all just a dream. “You may all be still alive, but technically, you are already dead. If you can keep the bead safe, you’ll have the ability to control the undead,” the young lady in the reflection stated. “The undead is bound to obey the one who holds the bead in their possession. The undead can’t disobey you, and if they do, you have the authority to punish them severely, as much as you want to,” told the lady in the reflection. Bella took a few steps back when the butterflies on her crown flew in a circle above her head. A swallowtail, the same as the one she had seen when she found the bead, had landed on her nose. Bella let out a little sneeze. The swallowtail took to the air and then transferred to her finger, leaving sparkling trails behind. “What do you call this place?” Bella asked. Her face lit up with amusement as she plucked a piece of berry to eat. “Ruins of the undead.” The young lady’s voice was somber as she spoke.
