Chapter 57 Latest News

"Sir, Jesseline is asking for help to get a passport, now... do you think you have any acquaintances who can take care of that tonight?" asked Mrs. Eveline in a rather hurried breath.
That night they should be busy doing the deeds in the last days of Ramadan. However, the problems that came in the last few days made them and their families not focus on their worship. Especially when there was the Livie case at that time.
"Where are you going?" Instead of answering questions from his wife, Mr. Vincent actually asked back.
He is the type of person who is detailed in doing anything. Even his wife who asked for help. Because, he understands that any action that will be taken will have a bad impact if it is not investigated properly.
Mrs. Eveline, who was panicking because of the story from Mrs. Jesseline a few minutes ago on the phone, was actually provoked by her emotions. In fact, her husband asked in a low tone and did not seem to be scolding.
"She needs it urgently, Dad!" cried Mrs. Eveline as she gripped her phone tightly.
Mr. Vincent then took a deep breath. He really understands his wife's character when her heart is panicking. Surely his mind and heart could not think clearly and calmly.
"Sit here first!" said Mr. Vincent who was also dizzy when he saw his wife pacing incoherently.
With a sullen face, Mrs. Eveline finally obeyed her husband's words. It is said that one way to calm yourself when you panic is to sit down for a while. Take a deep breath to organize your heart and mind so they can be more conditioned.
"Where is she going? I have acquaintances, but the cost will be expensive if it is too sudden like this. Moreover, it is already outside working hours," explained Mr. Vincent slowly.
He didn't want his wife to think that he didn't want to help her friend. However, that is the situation. Everywhere no one can apply for a passport outside of working hours. Especially with such a fast time span.
"What should I say to Jesseline?!" cried Mrs. Eveline who was on the verge of tears.
She is a very sensitive woman. There was something that stuck in his heart just a little, he would definitely be provoked to release a clear liquid from his eyelids. Mr. Vincent, who has lived with him for years, still likes to be surprised by his character.
"Let me talk to her here," said Mr. Vincent who asked to speak to Mrs. Jesseline on the phone.
Mr. Vincent had already prepared an idea that could more or less delay the departure of Mrs. Jesseline and her child—Shakira—. After all, her family still needs Mrs. Jesseline's help on the final trial day of the Livie case. He understood, his wife did not have time to think about it, because he already felt sorry for his best friend.
Mrs. Eveline then immediately called Mrs. Jesseline. Hopefully, her best friend will not be disappointed with what her husband will talk about later. She also had negative thoughts about her husband first.
Two minutes later, the line was already connected to Mrs. Jesseline. Then, the woman who was still wearing a sullen face immediately handed her flat object to the man sitting beside her.
"Hello, Miss Jesseline?" said Mr. Vincent when he brought the flat object to his right ear.
He is the type of person who easily intimidates his interlocutor. Not in a insistent or rude voice, but the other person will definitely agree to all the suggestions given. Everyone also knows him as a person who never fails when carrying out a plan. Perhaps, this is also related to his work which always demands to be thorough, smart, and careful. Even in a state of urgency.
"Ohh, Mr. Vincent ... how about it, sir? Can anyone get me a passport tonight?" A woman's voice came from the phone, which seemed to be in a state of panic as well.
Mr. Vincent then took a deep breath. In his heart he said that he needed to be calmer, so that Miss Jesseline wouldn't panic.
"Ma'am, calm down, okay. First of all, I apologize, ma'am, for not being able to help in this kind of urgency. Because, there are separate rules in the passport-making process," explained Mr. Vincent rather long.
Meanwhile, the woman beside him didn't seem to want to listen to the conversation. Because, she knew her husband would say things that Mrs. Jesseline didn't expect. She was even too worried that her best friend would hate her because of it.
Mrs. Jesseline was heard sighing in resignation. It was as if she and her daughter had no other choice but to wait for Mr. Henderson's messengers to pick them up.
Just about to open his voice, Mr. Vincent has grabbed it first with further information.
"But, ma'am ... tomorrow, God willing, I promise I will try to get it processed within one working day. I happen to be close to the superiors at the passport office in this French city, ma'am."
Mrs. Jesseline who had given up suddenly felt like she had a windfall. She then pulled the corners of her lips up as she listened to a sentence that meant so much to himself and his daughter.
"Are you serious about this?" asked Mrs. Jesseline whose eyes were already filled with tears.
At that time he felt happy and touched by the kindness done by Mrs. Eveline's family.
It wasn't just Mrs. Jesseline who was both surprised and pleased by Mr. Vincent's simple words. Apparently, the woman who became Mr. Vincent's life companion was also wide-eyed at hearing those words. Mrs. Eveline then spontaneously hugged her husband's arm with a happy smile. Her negative thoughts turned out to be a big mistake.
"I'm one hundred percent serious. This is a form of my gratitude to Mother for helping Livie's trial process at that time," said Mr. Vincent.
Inwardly, Mrs. Jesseline cheered happily. Although there is still a glimmer of concern because they still have to spend the night in the house that is being occupied.
"Usually, a passport will only be made four days after making payment, ma'am. However, I will try to get you the passport as soon as possible. You don't have to worry, tonight I will send some people to guard the house," said Mr. Vincent who made his wife fall in love with him even more.
In her entire life, this is the first time that Mrs. Jesseline has found someone as good as Mr. Vincent. In fact, she is also the same as Mrs. Eveline, never using belief as a limit to help ease the burden of others.
"Can I also ask for help, ma'am?" asked Mr. Vincent before Mrs. Jesseline wanted to say thank you to her family.
"It would be my pleasure if I could help, sir," answered Mrs. Jesseline in a tone that sounded like a happy person.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Eveline, who was still in a position to hug her husband's arm, looked up. She wondered what her husband would say. Remembering, the two of them haven't discussed anything to just ask Mrs. Jesseline for help.
"I beg you, Mrs. Jesseline, can you provide me with video evidence at that time, yes. Because there is another investigation that I am working on," said Mr. Vincent, which instantly made Mrs. Jesseline's heart sink.
She knew that it must have something to do with Mr. Bram—her husband—. However, it is impossible for him to refuse a request from a good person like Mr. Vincent. After all, the evidence already points strongly to his family.
"Okay, sir. After this I will send it to Eveline, yes," said Mrs. Jesseline firmly.
Both parties who were having a telephone conversation were equally happy and helped. Finally, they can prove that their religion cannot limit their interaction.
Feeling that there was nothing to talk about, Mr. Vincent also asked for permission to end the conversation.
Miss Jesseline was too happy that night. Even though she couldn't leave that night, she was very happy because she got a bright spot for his departure abroad.
"Apparently, Muslims are not terrorists as many people say," said Mrs. Jesseline, which made her daughter's eyes widen.
