Chapter 35: More Than Enough

Trisha
I can feel myself being carried bridal style, or maybe I’m still inside my dreams. I opened my eyes, everything still looked hazy. I saw the person carrying me, and he stopped to look at me. He looked sad. Why is he sad?
I wanted to raise my hand and touch his face but I can’t, my body felt so heavy right now. I tried to focus on his face but I can’t, I guess I’m still inside my dreams huh? Since I could not clearly see his face.
I heard voices around me. I closed my eyes again, I felt dizzy.
“What happened to her?” That voice, it belongs to a girl’s voice. Her tone is filled with worry.
“I’m sorry we went back late. Also, she’s fine, she just fell asleep and I could not wake her up. So I carried her here.” The person who’s carrying me responded.
I can feel that he had put me down on something soft.
“I… should… change my surroundings.” I mumbled to myself.
Ella
Fernandez carried Trisha home. She’s now sleeping on her bed, she kept on mumbling something in her sleep.
I went to see Fernandez off.
“If her head aches, give her this.” He handed me a medicine. I know just from the looks of it that it’s not something you can easily buy over the counter.
“I thought you said she’s fine, and you’re giving me these?” I asked him.
“I said ‘if’, I’m just giving these just in case.” He answered coldly.
"Where did you get these?” I asked him, the medicines looked familiar to me.
He only shrugged and walked away.
I was about to run after him but I heard Trisha mumbling even more. I kept the medicine, and although I trust Fernandez, I don’t have any plans of giving these to Trisha blindly.
I sighed and walked over to her and lied down beside her.
“I’ll sleep beside you, for tonight.” Then I hugged her as we continue to sleep.
Trisha
I felt the rays of the sun against my face.
“Ugh.” Why does my head hurt this bad?
I woke up and saw Ella beside me. She’s snoring loudly too.
“You always snore so loudly huh?”
I looked at the time.
“Gosh! I overslept!” I stood up immediately.
Wrong move. Everything went spinning the moment I stood up.
I put my hand on my forehead as I kneeled down on one leg, holding the edge of the bed for support.
“Trisha! Are you okay?” Ella woke up and immediately helped me.
“Y-yeah, my head aches a little.” I told her as she assisted me to sit down on a chair.
“Your head aches?” Ella asked me. “But Fernandez said you were fine.” She looked so worried about me.
“Y-yeah, I’m fine. It’s just a headache that’s all.” I told her.
“Trisha, there’s no such thing as a ‘just’ a headache for you. I know your head aches every now and then and even until now I still don’t know why – we still don’t know why.” Ella said as she walked back and forth in front of me.
“What could trigger your headaches, we already went to the clinic and they said you’re okay.” She kept on thinking to herself.
“You’re making my headache worse Ella just by looking at you going back and forth.” I said as I chuckled.
“I’m sorry.” She stopped and kneeled down beside me and placed her hand on my forehead.
“I’m just worried.”
“Don’t worry, I have a medicine for this, remember?”
“Oh right! You used to drink medicine when you had a headache.” She suddenly lit up.
“Yeah, I’ve been taking them since I was little whenever my head aches. They were given to me by my doctor. Can you please get them? They’re inside the drawer.” I pointed towards my bedside table.
“Okay.” She walked towards my bedside table.
She opened and got the container for my medicine, but instead of getting them and giving them to me she just stood there, staring at something. I can’t tell since her back is towards me.
“Uhm Ella?” I asked her.
“Oh! Right, here.” She then gave me my medicine and a glass of water.
“I guess you already told Fernandez about this too huh? She told me.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“Well, when he carried you here, he gave me these medicines, in case if your head aches.” She said.
I never told Fernandez about me having frequent head aches and about these kinds of medicine.
Then I remembered when we went out before. My head suddenly ached before too and he gave me a medicine to drink. I can’t seem to remember what kind of medicine was that though, I was assuming they were just normal paracetamols.
I kept on trying to remember the label of the medicine he gave me but I can’t.
“Uhm, Trish are you okay?” Ella asked me.
“Y-yeah, I was just thinking of something.” I looked at the clock.
“Ella! I’m late.” I suddenly remember again.
“Seesh, relax. You’re in no shape to go to class. Just stay here, I’ll also skip class so I can help you with anything.” She said as she assisted me to lie down on bed again.
“B-but-“
“Shh, no buts. Stay there and I’ll cook something for you.” She said as she went to cook something.
“Uhm. Ella?”
“Yes?”
“You also don’t know how to cook.”
“…”
“….”
“Okay fine, I know I can’t. I’ll just open two cup noodles for the both of us.”
I chuckled as she turned red.
We only stayed inside the dorm until 4:00 pm. We watched movies on Netflix and even ordered food, since we can’t cook. She also ordered ice cream for the both of us.
I felt like I needed to talk to someone, but I can’t remember who or what we’re going to talk about.
I took my phone and opened it, it’s now giving me a warning that it’s below 20%. So, I decided to turn it off to charge it but something caught my attention.
‘Talk to Chris in person regarding the dreams you shared together. Remember.’
I stared at the note for a long time, remembering the dream I had yesterday night. I was so tired that I forgot all about it.
I stood up and went to the door.
“Where are you going?” Ella came out from the bathroom and asked me.
“To Chris.” I said as I opened the door.
I stopped as I saw Chris walking back and forth in front of the door. He stopped as he noticed me.
“H-hey Trish.” He said as he scratch the back of his head while smiling shyly.
“You were absent the whole day, are you okay?” He asked me but did not take a step toward me.
“Trish where are you- Oh. Hey Chris.” Ella stood behind me and saw Chris.
“Hey Ella.”
“Ella I’ll talk to Chris on the rooftop, I will not be gone long.” I told Ella.
“To the rooftop?” Chris asked me.
“Yes, to the rooftop.” I responded as I grabbed his hand and went to the elevator.
We arrived at the rooftop in silence.
“So what do you want to talk about?” Chris asked me.
“You know, about our-“ I stopped talking.
I can’t continue talking about the dream even though I wanted to. There’s this stupid rule that I can’t tell other people about the dreams. What should I do? I know he also can’t tell me.
“Uhm Trisha? Are you okay?” Chris asked me.
“I know it’s you.” I told him.
“Me? What do you mean?” He asked looking confused.
“D-do you dream about me every now and then?” I asked him instead.
He looked at me wide eyes and I can see that he’s blushing.
“Yeah. W-hy?” He asked me as he looked down.
“I’m willing to give you a chance.” I told him as he looked immediately at me.
“Really?” He looked at me wide eyes then he smiled widely and I can see a small tear escaped his eye.
“Yeah.” I said as I smiled at him too.
There’s nothing wrong with giving him a chance right? If I can love him inside our dreams, then I can love him in real life too.
Chris then hugged me, thanking me for giving him a chance.
“But I’m only giving you a chance to court me, not about being your girlfriend.”
He let go of me and looked directly into my eyes.
“That’s more than enough.” Then he smiled.
