Red's POV

"You need to go home, Red. I'm going" her dad was about to leave her but she holds the hem of his dad's hoodie.
"You're not leaving again, Dad. Go home with me" she said, pleading rather. But her dad just looked at her, apologetically.
"You don't understand, go home" he coldly said and took a step forward but a gunshot startled them, not to mention, Red was only a child. It was her first time to encounter such a situation.
"Damn!" Her dad cursed. He unconsciously gets his pocket knife in his pocket. As he turned around, he accidentally pointed his knife at her daughter's eyebrow causing it to bleed.
"Stay here, no, go back and leave this place, hurry!" Her dad shouted. He was to focus on the culprit who fired the gun he didn't notice that he hurt her daughter.
I open and close my eyes as I rose from my bed. I winced in pain when I tried to move my right hand. I glanced at it and heaved a sigh when I saw it was patched up with gauze.
Remembering that time when he was focused on his enemies rather than his daughter who was so scared and couldn't take the traumatizing incident, it was just hard to process.
I lift my right hand to caress my eyebrow where my scar my dad made. It was the only remaining reason that I am staying. This was the only thing he left to me. And to think that he left again, the pain of the past starts to creep in.
I blink the tears that is about to fall as I heard a knock on my door.
Yes? I ask and fixed myself.
Breakfasts ready I heard Veras voice, also known as Z if you already forgot about that.
"I'll be downstairs I said and the next thing I've heard was her footsteps fading and was replaced by a deafening silence.
I heaved a sigh and stood up from my bed as I go to the bathroom to do my morning routine. Once done, I face my reflection in front of the mirror.
Wearing my uniform, I place my red hairband on my head. I blankly stared at my face. Clearly, Blue and I are a carbon copy of our father. I smiled bitterly. Blue, it's been a while when I uttered your name in my mind.
I shook my head and grab my bag as I went downstairs where the twins are.
"Ready?" I lift my head in the direction of the voice I've heard while taking the stairs.
"For?" I ask Z and sat beside her. While sitting, I crouch down to fix my shoelace as I hear her heave a deep breath.
"Investigate what happened. I already told the pieces of stuff to cancel the class for a week," I nod my head and face her. My eyes darted to her cold yet blank eyes.
She's been like that after seeing the guy with my Dad that day. I have a hunch but I'll remain silent as it's her business alone. Her life, per se. I couldn't possibly force her to say something about that; I wouldn't dare.
It's something like, mind your own life as I will.
I shake my head. Even though I'm not looking at her, I know she saw me.
"I've changed my mind" I uttered back and look away. Not that I am not confused by the situation yesterday, I just have to visit that place.
"What do you mean?" Her voice lace with curiosity but it remains cold. I nearly scoff at her and just roll my eyes.
"I'll go alone. I have something for you to do while I'm at it," I told her and stood up from crouching.
"What is it?" I smirk and look at her intently. Even if I said that I won't force her doesn't mean that I won't do a thing about it. I won't force her. I'll make her do it.
"Find him," I said, referring to the guy which I know she knew from the very time their eyes met.
She slightly flinches after hearing what I said. I didn't even mention his name and yet this is her initial reaction? Something's fishy, isn't it?
I roll my eyes and turn my back and walk towards the door. I still need to do something off the hook. She already knows what I want her to do. She needs it anyways.
There are no classes then I do not need to wear my uniform. Instead, I'm wearing my favorite red loose-shirt and red skirt with my black boots.
"I'll come with you," I glance in front of me when I hear him say that. First thing in the morning and here he is, staring straight into my eyes. I wonder how beautiful my eyes are. He's not taking his gaze away, that's why. Well, stop me from thinking things.
"Don't you have work?" I ask and walk my way into the parking lot.
"We'll use my car," instead of answering, he walks past me and enters his car. I don't have a choice but to follow him.
Once inside the car, I put the seatbelt on. Silence rules the space between us. Due to the silence, I manage to think properly. My mind is in the chaos that's causing my head to ache.
It's not really necessary to think deeper about what had happened the other day but I can't help it. it involves my dad and surely, I'm involved too. We all are.
"Do you know that guy?" I ask him, still looking at the scenery outside the window. I sense him looking at me but I didn't move in my seat. He sighs.
"No, why? He seems familiar though," I shrug my shoulders and heave a sigh.
"Nothing. It's just that your sister knows him... And my Dad," I mumble as I let the last words in a whisper.
"It's her business and he didn't make a move yet," I raise a brow but I didn't say a thing. I keep myself silent the whole ride and my heart pounds when the familiar gate of our school crosses my eyes.
"Do what you want to do. Just don't follow me," I didn't wait for his response and hurriedly went out of his car.
I walk my way towards the Engineering Building which exploded the other day. it's still a mess when I get there. I stop and carefully look around the area. Maybe I can find some evidence or anything that can help me solve those mysteries around my life.
My body is in full alert when I hear a single movement. No, the air made me feel it. There's a person here aside from me.
I walk towards the back of the building where I sense the movement. It happens so fast that I didn't notice someone in my back.
"Urgh," I grunt in pain when my back hits the tree. I glare at the guy who pins me at the tree. Boy, that hurts.
"What do you think you're doing?" My voice is cold and it's too sharp that it can slice a person into pieces. Of course, that's only an exaggeration on my part.
The guy in front of me sneers and smirks. "Pinning you?" He playfully asks that make me scoff. He really has the guts to do what he wants to do with me.
"Oh, don't be upset. He told me to stop you," I know who's that person he's talking about. I grit my teeth and my blank and cold gaze went to his eyes.
"Where is he?" He cocks his head to his right and a playful smile plays on his lips. Even though I want to hurt him, he'll surely be mad.
"Just somewhere," I roll my eyes and dart my sharp gaze to his face. He dares to make fun of me, huh?
"Take me to him," I blurt out, demanding him. He raises a brow and I also did.
"But he told me not to even if you insist to make me do it," I balled my fist in annoyance. What is my Dad planning? Why is he hiding? And why the hell is he not showing and talking to me?!
"Where is he?" I ask for the nth time. This is my chance to confront him. This is what I'm waiting for. And yet, he already decided to not make it clear for me. He already made a choice.
"I told you, didn't I?" I close my eyes shut and glare at him. if looks could kill, I'll be partying if he will be dead in front of me.
"I ask-," I didn't manage to finish what I'm about to ask him when HIS thunder voice resonates inside my head.
At last! He's here! My gaze travels at the guy's back and there I see his familiar face. It's been years. So many years yet he's still the same.
"Jared, let's go," my nails dug the flesh in my hand when I hear what he said. He's not planning to stay longer and leave me hanging, again.
I scoff and look at him with so much hatred in my eyes.
"Leave my territory, right now. or else I'm going to go full force and make you suffer in my hands. Go and leave me... Dad,"
I turn my back on them and walk away.
