Chapter 12 Tresicta

“Delicious” Agira said clearing his tray.
“This is good investment” Victor said gesturing to the pad before him. “Instead of slaving everyday over fire”.
“You should listen Snow” Dilia said stirring her creamy delicacy.
“I think Elementa and Sava need a tune-up, don’t you think?” Victor asked.
“You might like it, but Elementa likes to keep things the way they are. We are more authentic”.
“And who do you think gave you that line?” Agira scoffed pushing his hair back.
“And you want to start another argument” Snow said tiredly.
“Everything you know comes from us” Agira argued.
“Have you asked your subjects what they want?” Dilia asked.
“And you do?” Snow asked back.
“Yes” Victor replied. “Monthly surveys” he said holding up a holographic pad. “There’s a reason I’m most loved in all of Tempa”.
“Science” Dilia smiled.
“I have no reason to doubt my subjects. They are happy and we have no problems unlike you two”.
“What does that mean?” Victor asked confused.
“Yes you have science, modernization and your very subjects use that against you” and he turned to Dilia.
“Because every Elementa is so perfect and innocent” Agira played off as a cough.
“We have our faults I’ll admit, but not compared to the ratio of the criminals that come out from Luvina”.
“And do tell where the famous duo fire squad originated from” Dilia said licking the cream off her spoon.
“And that is why I want every Luvinan out of my kingdom and I want access denied to your kind” he said sitting straight.
“Don’t tell me you’re serious” she had her eyes wide.
“Tell her Victor” she turned to him.
“Crime…..is a problem with all the quadrants, but with the rate….”
“What rate?!” she demanded. “Need I remind you that everyone has a mind? I have Tempans, Savans and Elementans staying there. Do you hear me complain? They’re the ones making all that noise!!”
“My daughter if you don’t know is a guardian of…..the place that is called earth. She and some others were attacked by pure Luvinans. A precise number of three just because they could. Not only are there going crazy here but on earth too. And you do nothing”.
“You don’t even….”
“There will be restrictions on Luvinans staying and coming to visit Sava” Agira was the first to say.
“Any half Luvinan would have to be fully adopted by their Elementan side” Snow said.
Victor sighed.
“I-I would….I think we should have recess” Dilia said standing up from her seat and made her way to the huge doors.
Danny had a pad in her hand, while her roommate just stared at the screen listening to the different reports of what could be happening inside the venue.
She had come across a very interesting ad. She didn’t know if she was registered. There had to be more Supernaturals out there just like her than she thought. She placed her thumb to see if she was registered as a full blooded Tempan and she was. She saw all her credentials on the screen and turned out she had a message. Staying here was really efficient. Earth would never get to this level.
Opening her mail, it was from her parents. She knew they went to an earth place for vacation, so why did she receive mail here? All that would be explained when she saw them. They were summoning her anyway.
She stood up looking at her friend. They hadn’t brought up what happened yesterday.
“Did you call Stephanie or Kieran yesterday?”
“Why would I do that?” she asked not removing her eyes from the screen. “Both of them need to sort out that stuff by themselves”.
“What is up with you? You’ve been different lately”.
“How do you mean Daniela?”
“It’s just….that….well….you know what I’m just going to go take care of some things. You sort yourself out” the ground underneath her glowed purple and she was out of the room.
Tresicta stood up. She needed to act now. There was no time like the present, but she couldn’t risk asking questions she was meant to know. She didn’t know how to work all these devices. She sighed and just then the watch she was meant to wear round her wrist beeped and a holographic message shot up. It was from Kieran.
She smiled to herself.
“I’ll be coming over. Hope you’re back to yourself already” it said.
“Yes I am” she murmured and left to go find breakfast. At least there was something good about home world”.
Stephanie dropped down from her owl and she was gone. She didn’t need to look to know Kieran was there.
“Good morning your highness” he greeted.
“There’s nothing good about this morning”.
“Have you finally gotten over yesterday?” he questioned.
“And it just keeps getting worse”.
“There was no need to just walk out yesterday” he stated as they began their walk to Clara’s apartment building.
“You expected me to stay after she said that”.
“What was so wrong with what she said? You know how she is…..she was your friend first anyway”.
She remained silent, her eyes forward. “Daniela might have a point. She’s acting stranger”.
“Just because she said something to you that you didn’t like? Why does it affect you so much?” he asked.
“I don’t want to address that. Can we just go see her and…..”
“Then what? What are you going to do? Tell her to take back what she said”.
“I’m not here to argue. I’m genuinely concerned over Clara and you’re here trying to do what?”
“Calm you down and trying to get you to stop acting weird with me. You ignored my calls and you haven’t met my eyes. Tell me why it affected you so much?”
“We’ve arrived” she stated coldly. “And that conversation is over” she said finally and they both stepped onto the area with the seal.
The dwelling areas were different from other buildings in home world and on earth. The public areas, anyone could just step in. But the dwelling areas, they just had to step onto the seal and it would take them were they meant to be. How it worked, they just had to think or say it.
The platform glowed and they were engulfed in grey light and then they were both in front of Clara’s door.
“Cat!” Kieran knocked once. “Open up”.
The door opened and she smiled at both of them and stepped aside for both of them to enter.
Stephanie gave her a side eye glance as she walked into the living room and Clara closed the door.
“Not that I don’t like you guys coming on such short notice, but why are you here so early?”
“Where’s Daniela?” Stephanie asked.
“Out doing whatever” she shrugged. She really didn’t care.
“We have a purpose, but first can you serve us like a good host?” Kieran asked.
Clara turned around clenched both fists. Who did they think she was? Never mind, she was going to do what she planned today.
“Mum, dad” Danny said surprised she was actually seeing her parents. “What happened to vacation?”
“We were having a good time, but your mum couldn’t stop thinking about you”.
“How’s that friend of yours?” her mum asked.
“Which friend?”
“You only have one friend” her dad pointed out.
“Clara” Elizabeth said. “How is she?”
“She’s….okay”.
“You don’t sound so sure” Richard said.
“Well she has been acting strange, stranger than usual. Why are you so concerned anyway?”
“I told you” she told her husband.
“It could mean nothing”.
“It could also mean something” she argued with him.
“What are you going on about?” she was confused and they weren’t making any attempt to make it clear.
“Danny we need to leave!” her mother said seriously.
“What?!” she exclaimed. “No I don’t want to go. I just got here. You’re meant to be on vacation just like I’m meant to be enjoying mine. What’s the problem?”
“This is bigger that the three of us….bigger than all of home world combined. We need to leave now!” she grabbed her daughter’s hand. She struggled with her mum.
“What do you mean? And how does it involve Clara?”
“Danny can you…..”
“No! You have to explain it to me. What is bigger than all of home world and how does it involve Clara and all of us?”
“She saw something” her dad said. “And it wasn’t good. You said your friend has been acting weirder than usual…..in what sense has she been acting weird?”
“Oh my stars” Danny whispered.
“Not the best breakfast I’ve ever had I’ll tell you that” Stephanie said.
“Forgive me your highness” Tresicta said in a very high pitched sarcastic voice.
“So tell me cat, what’s been up with you?” Kieran began.
“What do you mean?” she asked like she didn’t know what he was referring to.
“Don’t play dumb” Stephanie said. “You know, that stuff you pulled yesterday was crossing a line”.
“Did I lie?” Clara teased really unbothered.
“I need you to take this serious” Stephanie hadn’t lost her cool like she had expected. “Danny said she noticed something”.
“Of course she said she did” she rolled her eyes.
“First your unusual disgusting behavior…..”
“The only thing disgusting here is both of you….”
“NEVER INTERPUT ME!!” Stephanie boomed.
Clara used her tongue to hit inside her cheek surprised for a few seconds. “Okay” she said softly.
“Disgusting behavior, power surge and……”
“Change in the color of your fur and I think spacing out” Kieran completed.
“We’re not what would be considered conventional friends, but we’re all you got. So just spare us and tell what is going on with you”.
Kieran hid his smile behind his forearm. She wasn’t an emotional person and this was the closest they were all going to get to her being emotional. She was the ice princess consumed with her duties and hand no time for the commoner’s issues.
Clara smiled and sat up.
“Finally a breakthrough” Stephanie smiled.
“Thank you for your care” she placed a hand on Stephanie’s lap and she placed a hand on Kieran’s cheek.
The ice princess’s eyes went wide as she was tossed towards the door.
“What the fuck Clara!” Kieran yelled and was on his feet, but Clara cupped his face and he was looking into her glowing green eyes.
“Just let yourself be sucked in” Tresicta pulled him closer. “Don’t fight….”
Stephanie’s boot made contact with her ribs and she was passing through the window, shards of glass cutting her skin as she plummeted towards the ground. She knew without a second thought that it was going to hurt.
Stephanie slapped Kieran back to the world of Supernatural. “Where did you go?” she asked.
“That’s not Clara” he said out of breath.
“Took you long enough to figure that out” she said walking to the shattered window looking down at the fake Clara that was on her feet and made a come hither motion with her finger.
“So if she’s here, where’s Clara?” Kieran asked placing a hand on her shoulder.
“I am not teleporting with you”.
“Seriously?!” he exclaimed.
“Clara is missing and that’s what is on your mind?! You’re unbelievable. I’m going with or without you” she said kicking more glass out of the way.
“Wait for me” he said and they both jumped out of the high building and both landed on their feet.
“Surrender now and I won’t kill you” Stephanie said first. She had already been played around with twice. It would not happen for the third time.
“I don’t see that happening” fake Clara said confident.
“Who are you?” Kieran asked.
“Come find out fire starter” and she was running into the city.
“See why I didn’t want to teleport?” and she chased after her dodging all the onlookers. Kieran followed.
Tresicta could see them before they even appeared in her line of vision so she could avoid them with ease. That was new. Looks like her original powers was coming to her. Looks like this Clara’s body was a beacon.
She was sure the princess and her boyfriend were barreling through thousands of innocent people. Now it was time to see what this body could do, but best she led them away from civilization. Her destruction would come later on.
She ran and she could feel cold reaching up to her. She was too slow and her ankles were encased in ice and the blow came to her back. Her spine absorbed everything and she was flying forward and then sliding on her face into the training field and before she could get up another blow on her back and she was pinned there.
Her hair was pulled up by Kieran and she smiled all bloody at him.
“Who are you?” he asked.
“You’ll find out soon enough” she told him.
He pulled her up by her hair and she was on her feet.
“I’ll call the authorities. I’m sure the drones saw me kick someone out a window and then running with a fire wielder. If word gets to my father he’s not going to be happy”.
Fake Clara laughed.
“Where is Clara?” Stephanie asked.
“What do you mean?” she asked scandalized. “I’m right here”.
Stephanie was before her now. Her hand a crystal blue. “Toss her Kieran!” she commanded.
“I don’t think that’s wise” Kieran said.
She kicked her right in her chest and she went backwards. Stephanie had a sword in hand and wings on her back and was before her ready to swing, but she stopped.
Tresicta took her chance. She placed a hand right on her heart and Stephanie screamed as she felt explosions on different parts of her body and she was the one tossed back, but Kieran had her in his arms. Her body still couldn’t stop shaking.
“What happened?”
“I-I don’t know” she stuttered.
She stumbled onto her feet and her legs still wouldn’t stop shaking.
“Why did you stop?” he asked not taking his eyes off their opponent that was their friend and also wasn’t their friend. This wasn’t what he planned for his morning.
“I realized that despite the abnormality, that is still Clara. If I had swung, any chance of making sense of this will be gone”.
“Are we done?” Clara questioned closer than she was before.
“Not on your life” Kieran said.
“Okay then. Your loss will be enjoyable” and with a laugh she went on the offence.
Kieran wouldn’t really hurt her, but if it called for it he would defend himself. He was able to stop her in her tracks, but she was fighting his control. “This is a good time to jump in” he gritted out to Stephanie.
She was better now. “Sure” and she ran out of Kieran’s line of vision and tackled Clara from the side onto the floor. Her hands glowed crystal blue and Clara groaned her body stiffening. This was a nauseating power.
She was placed on her knees and was put in some kind of prison with only her head free.
“Call the authorities now” Kieran said.
Stephanie couldn’t make the signal before Kieran was tossed back by invincible force groaning holding his head in pain.
Stephanie looked to the perpetrator who was smiling at her. She raised her hands from her stomach to her chest and screamed spitting out and ice storm out of her mouth. She watched in slow motion as the ice that kept her bound was seemingly absorbed and the storm that was going towards her was absorbed as well.
That wasn’t good.
She wasn’t expecting her to shoot it back at her and with more force than she had attacked with. That was her attack darn it.
She squatted and placed both hands on the ground and an ice wall came up shielding her and Kieran. It sucked that she couldn’t fight like she wanted to. “You better get up Kieran” and Clara burst through the ice wall with a feral grin.
But before she could attack, she was frozen to where she stood. The freezing wasn’t happening on the outside, but on the inside. How was that possible? She was again acquainted with the boot, this time to her face.
Stephanie was above her when she was still in motion and she felt cold steel wrap round her body and she was going round in circles before colliding with the earth below her.
Kieran was up. “I noticed something”.
“Which is what exactly?” she asked observing the prone body on the floor.
“Her power….I have to say is just like Danny’s” he told her.
“What do you mean? Isn’t she just telepathic?”
“Have you forgotten your little fight with her?”
“Danny isn’t that strong” Stephanie sighed stretching her suddenly sore body.
“Maybe she doesn’t know the power she has inside her”.
“Useless” Stephanie scoffed.
“What I’m saying is the only time she can hurt us is when we attack. When we go physical she’s at a loss”.
“And so are we Kieran because we can’t hurt her”.
“Then what do you suggest?!” Kieran snapped.
“Just hold her in place let me bind her” Stephanie said.
“Didn’t you hear what I said?”
“Fine I’ll do it myself” she said walking up to her. That collision must have knocked her out.
They both made their way to her and when she touched the chain, it burned her hand. It was sizzling, but she wouldn’t relent. She wouldn’t let go.
Kieran held her by her hair and brought the back of her head onto the ground. Then there was a sudden burst of light everywhere. It was blinding and both Supernaturals had to take cover.
When the light cleared Stephanie felt a hand on her stomach this time and so did Kieran. There was a buildup of energy coming to the surface and then a blast at various points of their body and they went back a few feet and then kept rolling.
The princess of Elementa bested. She hadn’t been able to do anything. Kieran was passed out. She couldn’t move, not even when she stopped moving. That feeling you get when a wound bleeds, but on the inside.
Clara was above her with a smug look, but it wasn’t for her. It was for Kieran,
“Wake up” she coughed out and that got her attention. She looked to Stephanie and squatted. She ran her hand from her chest to her waist where her sword was sheathed safely. She pulled it out and made a noise of affirmation. She stood up and walked to her hands kicking it in place, placing one over the other.
She knew what was coming next and she didn’t act affected when the sword penetrated through both hands. She didn’t have the strength to scream. Clara was the one doing this.
She cleaned both hands and looked to Kieran picking him up and tossing him over her shoulder.
“The name isn’t Clara princess. It’s Tresicta”.
