Chapter 41 Sorry
Knock! Knock! Knock!
"Clara opens the door and there is a guest!" Mrs. Ellen shouted from the kitchen when she heard a knock on the door.
Clara, who was too lazy to get up, finally couldn't help but stand up to open the door for guests who came.
Check!
Clara opened the door, and in front of her was Smith in his casual clothes. Clara looked at him as well as Smith.
"Come on in," Clara said, motioning for Smith to enter her house.
Smith nodded, he then entered his house. At the same time, Mrs. Ellen came from the kitchen, just to see who the guests were.
"Eh Smith, did you come here early in the morning?" Mrs. Ellen asked kindly, greeting Smith who was already in front of her.
Smith smiled. "No ma'am, now I'm taking the day off," Smith answered, making Mrs Ellen nod her head.
"Sit down first, will you make me something to drink first?" Mrs. Ellen said and then returned to the kitchen, while Clara and Smith sat together on the sofa.
"You don't want to go home?" Smith asked, looking at Clara who was still silent in front of him. "You don't miss me?"
Clara only looked at Smith languidly, she missed Smith too. Miss it.
"You haven't been at home for a week, it feels like something is missing. I miss you," said Smith, his eyes looking so tired that Clara couldn't bear to look at Smith's face.
"I'm just disappointed in you, Smith. You trusted your mother more, compared to listening to my explanation first," Clara said while averting her eyes.
Smith nodded, he knew he was wrong to that right. "Yeah I know I was wrong, I'm sorry about that. I came here to apologize about that."
Clara looked at Mrs. Ellen who came in, carrying two glasses of drink. And put it in front of them, I did sit beside Clara.
"I'm sorry Clara, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't hear your explanation first," said Smith, even holding Clara's hand, who had been silent all along.
"You're mad at me, right? You hate it?" Clara shook her head.
"I don't hate you Smith, I already told you that I'm disappointed in you who suddenly got angry like that at me," Clara said, repeating her earlier words.
Mrs. Ellen just silently listened to their conversation and just listened to it.
"Clara, you want to go home right? I'm here to pick you up," Smith said again, holding Clara's hand even tighter.
Mrs. Ellen smiled, hearing what Smith said. "Yes, Clara, you better go home. Solve all your problems at home first, let everything be settled so there's no burden on your mind," said Mrs. Ellen, making Clara look directly at her.
"Yes, Clara, we will finish everything at home in a good way. I can't stay away from you," Smith replied, making Clara exhale in resignation.
"Okay, I'll go home. Wait for me to clean my clothes." Clara got up from her sitting position, and she then went to her room to tidy up her clothes.
Smith smiled seeing Clara agree, to be invited back home. Mrs. Ellen was also happy to hear that.
"Smith, consider today as a lesson. Because not all wives like to be angry, you should first listen to your wife's explanation so that the same thing doesn't happen," Mrs. Ellen ordered Smith, who was in front of her.
Smith nodded his head obediently. "Ready Ma'am, I also regret that I believed too much in what you said," said Smith
"Believe it, but don't overdo it. Even to the point of scolding people who have done nothing wrong," replied Mrs. Ellen.
Their conversation had to stop because Clara had come down from her room carrying a bag. And also the equipment that she originally brought home.
"All done? Nothing left right?" asked Mrs. Ellen, getting up and walking over to Clara.
"Not everything is here, I'll go home first, Mom." Clara shook Mrs. Ellen's hand, and so did Smith.
"Yes, be well there. Take care of your health, I will entrust Clara, Smith."
Smith nodded his head. "Ready, ma'am. We'll say goodbye first, okay?" Smith said.
Smith and Clara finally got out of the house, in the car Clara was just silent and didn't talk about anything.
Likewise with Smith, who was busy driving and there was no conversation whatsoever between them. It took them an hour to finally get home, the gate opened making them frown.
"Is your mother home?" Clara thought she was too lazy to meet Mrs. Katy. There would be another war if I met her.
"Come on down," said Smith.
Clara got out of the car, Smith helped Clara carry her heavy things. Clara and Smith walked into the area of the house.
Check!
When the door opened, it was seen that Mrs. Katy was sitting on the sofa. And Mrs. Katy's eyes immediately averted her eyes, when she heard the sound of the door opening.
"Have you been here for a long?" asked Smith, who was surprised to see Mrs. Katy already at her house.
Mrs. Katy smiled and shook her head. "No, just a few minutes ago," answered Mrs. Katy, her eyes fixed on Clara who was silent while lowering her head.
"Clara," Mrs. Katy called, making Clara look at her. She became shocked when Mrs. Katy called her name.
Mrs. Katy held Clara's hands gently, her eyes stared at her with a gaze that was difficult to decipher. "I'm sorry if you've been mean to you all this time," said Mrs. Katy, making them both even more surprised.
"Clara, you know, you make a lot of mistakes and it's hard to forget. Since the beginning you entered our family, you have been mistreated by me. But now you realize that you have been too mean to you all this time," said Mrs. Katy, making Clara even more angry. silent confused about what to answer.
"Clara, will you forgive me?"
Clara glanced at Smith, then she nodded her head. Clara smiled and immediately hugged Mrs. Katy's body.
"I forgave you a long time ago, don't feel guilty, Mom," said Clara in a soft voice, Mrs. Katy smiled too. She didn't expect Clara to be so kind and quick to forgive her.
"You promised Clara, starting today you will act like your mother. You just realized your mistake," said Mrs. Katy, holding Clara's face.
"I'm happy when you finally wake up, and I hope you always remember what you said, okay?" Smith replied, making Mrs. Katy win over his head.
"Here, I help." Mrs. Katy helped Clara carry her things, Clara smiled she didn't expect Mrs. Katy to apologize to her now.Download Novelah App
