"You killed, Daddy?"
I was surprised to hear a voice I didn't expect today. I peeked behind Daddy, and saw Xander standing in the doorway.
So, he knows where we are?
"Xander?" Aunt Amanda was so flustered seeing her Son. She walk towards Xander. She held Xanders' arm. "What the hell are you doing here? How did you get in here?"
"Just answer my goddamn question! Is it you who killed my father?!" Xander spat angrily while starting at his Mom in disbelief.
"Son, calm down will you-"
"How could I fucking calm down if my own mother killed my own father?!"
"Son listen-" she tried to reach Xanders hand but Xander step back to avoid her hand touching him.
While Aunt Amanda was busy Daddy carefully and quietly walked over to Mommy and me. When he got closer he immediately removed the knot of the rope in his hand which he seemed to mean and then he removed the tapes one by one from Mommy and me.
"D-daddy." I whispered so quietly in a stuttered voice and trembling lips.
I felt so scared.
He shook his head to keep me quiet as he hugged me tightly and quickly then turned to Mommy. He couldn't keep his emotions as he kissed my Mom's head so dearly. My Mom closed her eyes because of the kiss that given by my Dad.
How I love seeing their simple sweet gestures. But it's not the right time for me to get amazed by my parents affection. We were in the middle of trouble, so I should at least focused on what is happening right now.
However, I still couldn't help to think about my parents separation before and me that should be dead four years ago. I wanted to know everything. I don't want to be that clueless girl anymore. Who knows nothing but the heartbreak that caused by my ex boyfriend which is Xander who's in front of us right now.
"Answer me first!" I heard Xander shout in rage so I looked back at the two of them with his mother. "Did you really killed my father because of Xandra's real father?!"
"Xander listen-"
"How could I fucking listen to you?! You ruined our family because of him?!" anger is visible on his face right now.
"Xander, I didn't mean it — son listen, he is already dead two years ago, why can't you just accept that he's not here anymore? He's already in peace!"
Aunt Amanda in so unbelievable! How could she do it with her own husband? She's really an evil!
While Daddy was in a hurry to remove the leash on our hands and feet while Aunt Amanda was with her son's full attention, I couldn't help but think of the words left by Aunt Amanda.
Is it that easy for her to forget? The fact that she herself killed her own husband? Doesn't she have a guilty conscience?
But the question is whether she still has a conscience left? Because based on what I see and hear from her, it looks like there is nothing anymore.
"How can you say that, Mom? He's my father! My real biological father!" his voice broke at the same time with the trust he had for his mother. "And if you can talk my Daddy is just like an animal you killed! I trusted you! I helped you keep all of your shitty secrets because I don't want you to get jailed! I even dare to cheat on Ynnah despite of the love I have on her because of you! Of your own deeds! I respect you! All of your decision! I keep everything for your own sake even though my conscience is hunting me every night as I fall asleep!"
My jaw literally drop at what he have said.
Xander knows everything except for his father's death?
"You told me that you have nothing to do with my father's death! You swore to me, Mom!" For the very first time I saw Xander cried in front of us. In front of his Mom. "And now even though you promised not to hurt Ynnah when I keep my mouth shut, you still didn't keep! You're a liar! I trusted you, Mom! I can't believe I trusted you!"
Xander made a promise to keep his silence for my own sake. He cheated because of her Mother's sake. He never intended to cheat on me but for his Mom, he did. He did that for me. All this time, I wasn't the one who suffered mentally and emotionally from the heartbreak of the past. He was suffering too.
"Sweetie, stand up.." Daddy whispered to me.
He helped me stand up and he did the same to Mommy.
"Xander, I only did that for you and your sister! Everything I do is for us!" Amanda tried to reach Xander.
"Shut up!" Xander stepped back as his eyes screaming in anger, hatred and betrayal. "You fucking shut up! You're a liar! You only did those thing for your own sake! Everything you do is only for yourself! You're selfish! You don't really care about me and my sister! You only care for your self! If you really care about me and my sister, you wouldn't dare to kill my father! You wouldn't dare to put Ynnah in danger! You wouldn't dare to kill her before! You wouldn't break your promises to me, you wouldn't dare to lie!"
Because of Xander's answer to her, Amanda couldn't stop herself from laying hands on Xander. The sound of her, slapping Xander echoed inside the abandoned room.
"You have no respect to your mother!" Amanda said in anger.
With his head turned away from his mother, Xander smirked. "A person like you has no right to be respected. So don't worry," he look at Amanda straight into her eyes. "From now on, I disown you as my mother. I don't have a murderous mother."
"How dare you! You ungrateful son of a-"
"Stop it, Amanda!"
She was about to slap Xander once again when I couldn't help myself from shouting at her to stop her from doing it. She immediately avert her gaze at me.
I couldn't help to watch it over and over again without me doing anything.
"Francine!" My parents exclaimed at the same time.
I knew they were scared for me, for my safety. Knowing Amanda, she's a dangerous person. But I wanted to be brave this time. I wouldn't let fear and helpless coward eat me up. Rather I would face this fear and turn it into courage.
I promised I would be brave. I promised myself that I would be brave for Eros. So that he would not get involved in trouble and perish because of me. It was as if I could somehow defend myself against bad people. It's as if I don't always depend on him anymore. I should stand on my own feet.
And I'll start it right now.
"You stopped Amanda. That's enough! Do you have no mercy? Where the fuck is your soul now?" I said overflowing with courage.
"Y-ynnah..."
"Stop hitting Xander! You have no rights to lay a hand on him!"
"And who do you think you are?!" Amanda shifted her anger to me. "He is my son!"
"Oh really? But why did you treat him otherwise? You treat him like a slave! A slave who keep your secrets hidden in order for you not to be in jail! A slave who protects you from everything!" I said in so much anger. "But what did you change despite your son's silence on all the profanity you committed?" I asked her that made her stilled. "You killed his own Father! You deprived him of living with the whole family for your personal pleasure!"
"Shut the fuck up!" she exclaimed in so much anger and frustrations. "You know nothing! You're just a helpless coward and a clueless bitch! You don't know what I've been through so shut up! I could kill you right here, right now if you don't shut your filthy mouth!"
"Really? Then go, shoot me." I said in full of courage without having any second thoughts.
I am ready to face eveything with courage-an overflowing courage in my own death.
"Francine!"
"No!"
"Ynnah, no!"
"As you wished." Without second thoughts, driven by her intense rage, anger and irrational thinking, Amanda aimed the gun at me. Focused on my forehead.
At that time I was ready to die. I am ready to exchange my life if that would end the madness and hatred and in exchange is peace for my loved ones. Especially with my family.
