Chapter 57
Jayson's pov;
She said that to me and the smile vanished off my face
Why is she always this grumpy and cold
" Huh...I just wanted to talk to you about something" I said running my fingers in my hair nervously
Her stares were even enough to make me shiver and nervous
She has so much effect on me
" About what?" she asked again
" The...ermmm.." I stammered and luckily for me, her phone started ringing
I heaved a deep sigh
She picked up the call and walked few steps away from me, but I could still hear what she was saying
" Okay...I'll be there soon" she said and hung up
" I gotta go" she said
I looked down sad.
" Uhmmm...we could...we could meet up at school"she said noticing my sad look. I instantly looked at her surprised
" Meet up?" I asked again
" Yeah. I'm sure what you had to tell me is really important for you to even come all the way here today just to see me" she said. I smiled
So she is understanding after all
" Yes; it is" I told her
" Okay" she said
" Meet me up front; lemme give you a ride" she offered and I couldn't believe it
She was acting so nice to me
I smiled as she left the window
This is so good to be true! I ran to the front and there I met her
She gestured for me to get in and I did
The driver turned to look at me
I'm guessing he was shocked
" Change of plans" Skyler said already seated
" To the studio" she said and the driver nodded before reversing

Skyler drove me off at a distance away from the coffee shop
I thought she was gonna ask about the coffee shop but she didn't
Throughout the ride, she never said a word to me and I didn't have the courage to do so either; or maybe I was just scared
I now remembers she has been there before - to Grandma's coffee shop
I smiled as I remembered that day
Skyler's pov;
Mars drove me straight to the studio
I had received a call from Mr staffers that Dad wanted me to attend a concert
Well; not that I have to sing, so it wasn't such a bad idea
My songs just gets played on stage while I dance to it
I have been doing this for years and my fans even love it that way
I also know they are looking forward to the day I would actually sing
None of my songs have music videos; the only videos of me that were made were that of dancing
The car halted and I figured out we were there
The car door was opened for me and I stepped out
Mr staffers was already waiting for me
" Any new developments?" I asked him
" Yeah; the Goshen magazine wants to do an interview with you while you arrive California for your concert; and also your Dad wants you to push up the release of your upcoming album a little further" he informed me
I sighed deeply
Dad!!
" Tell dad I don't get to listen to him. I'm my own boss" I told Mr staffers
" I know dear; I also tried to talk to him, and tried to tell him it won't be possible but he wouldn't listen" he said
" And that's why you are my manager" I told him
" Sure...I sort it out as soon as I can" he told me
" Anything else?" I asked him as we reached the studio
" None that I can think of" he replied
" Good"I said getting into the recording room
The instruments were already set
These were the only people that gets to see me sing
They were just few of them and were very trusted
I set to work immediately

" You sure you're okay, Sky" Mr Staffers asked giving me a bottle of water
" Yeah" I replied him
" Sure" he said
" Just know that if there's anything you need to talk about it tell me, I'll be right here" he said then touched my hand while staring at me. He left my hand and walked out
The rehearsal had been a total disaster
I think I was losing it. I can't sing anymore
Hell! What's going on with me?
I drank up the water exhaustingly
" Time to leave" Mr Staffers said appearing behind me
I turned and smiled at him, before walking out and he followed behind
We got outside then entered the car and they drove off
" Do you think something's wrong with me" I asked him when we were many miles away
" What do you mean dear?" he asked
I sighed and felt I should open up to him
This is a man I have known since I was little. He had been my manager, my friend, my confidant and so I think I should trust him also on this
He had been my helper on my way to stardom, and even now he was still here -with me.
I know I needed someone to lean on now, and I think he was the best person
" It's just that...uhmm...I no longer find the inspiration and excitement to sing as before" I opened up
" I don't get you" he said
I sighed again gulping down
" I think I'm wearing out. This isn't me anymore"
" I still don't get you" he said still looking confused
" I think I need a new form of inspiration...you know, something to help me get my confidence back" I told him
" You mean a fresh idea" he asked me
" Exactly...I think so" I said
" What do you suggest?" I asked him
" I dunno sky...but I'll come up with something soon, I promise" he assured me with a smile and I just nodded
I really hope things gets better
Jayson's pov;
I got to the coffee shop in a very high spirit - full of happiness and excitement
Myra noticed this and came close to me
" Uhmm...this one you are this happy; did you win a ticket to California" she asked sarcastically
I started laughing at what she said. I laughed for a long time and so loud that it started irritating her
" Why are laughing like an hyena?" she asked annoyed
" Nothing....just that what you said was really funny" I said. She looked on in confusion
" And just so you know I didn't win any ticket" I told her smiling
" It's worth more than that"
" Well; I think you did, because from the look of things you might want to" she said
" What do you mean?" I asked her
" So you don't know?" she asked me with a puzzles look
" Know what" I asked her now looking serious. She looked at her and sighed before bringing out her phone
She scrolled and tapped on something then came closer to where I was...I took my eyes to it and what I saw was unbelievable
* Skyler's concert in California; who's Anticipating*
It was a news headline. How come I haven't seen it?
"Whaa...what's this?" I asked Myra
" I thought you were a really big fan of hers; so how come you didn't know about it?" Myra asked and laughed
" When did you see it?" I asked her again
" This afternoon...it came out not too long ago and its all over the place" she told me
" I thought you knew; was surprised you weren't aware" she said again
" Wow!! This is....I don't know what to say" I said dumbfoundedly
" Yeah.I would so much love to have go to that concert, but who am I kidding...it's not here in New York" Myra said
" And that's so sad" she added
" Yeah it is...so so sad" I included
" Still surprise tho; that you didn't know about it" she said again
" I swear I didn't" I told her
" I'm just coming back from school now and haven't even touched my phone" I told her honestly
" Alright....I believe you.so; what did you do in school?" she asked crossing her arms
" I went to meet her" I said
" Wh...who?" Myra asked furrowing her brows
" Skyler" I said quietly
" You....you did what?" she screamed in a low tone, at me
" Yeah" i replied solemnly
" Why?" she asked
" Because that was the only way...that's the only way I can make her talk to me....that's the only way I can see her" I exclaimed. She sighed severally moving her head sidewards
" But still; oh!!!...okay; okay, what did she say? Did you still get to meet her and talk to her?" she asked me
" Yeah; I met her but I wasn't able to talk to her...she was in haste" I told Myra
" That's too bad" she said
" Not entirely...she told me to meet up with her in school" I told Myra and her face instantly litted up
" Really?" she asked with her eyes bulged out
" Yeah...it's hard to believe right?" I said
" Definitely" she said
" But; how...how do you intend to go meet her" she asked me and I became quiet
Should I tell her this also?? That I know of a secret place Skyler goes to?
