URIAH -Continuation- "How are we faring?" Jago asked the elders as he passed by them. A passed out Moira and a distraught looking Arthur sat atop his back shivering in fear. "It's not going great. The fire has spread too fast and just as I fear, It's not an ordinary fire, I tried dousing it with water but to no avail." Zarino replied with urgency. The water tribe king replied while trying to concentrate on using his element to douse out the surrounding fire. Everything was in chaos, some humans tried to escape from all the monsters after them but the monsters were far too agile and hungry for them to ever stand a chance. Some humans got caught in the fire and were running and wailing around the room asking for help. It was a massacre. Zarino stared at Jago hopelessly. He knew they stand no chance of winning the battle today. They were much too caught unaware to be ever prepared for this. Gunther and Kygo stood back to back fending off the monsters flocking their way and trying to save all the humans that they could, but there were too many of them and they were already tired from all the fighting they did. Jago knew he had to make a call to save them and he has to think fast. He looked around the massive room and scanned all the possible exits but everything was blocked and sealed by the dratted mages. It was getting harder and harder for them to survive. Just as he was about to lose hope, Jago remembered something. The princess knew about all the underground and secret passages out of the palace-she can help them! whipping his head back, Jago looked at the scared boy behind him. "Arthur, wake your sister up. We need her help." was all he said before he swooped to bite a tentacle that tried to find its way to them. Arthur, shooked his sister awake with urgency. It seems that speech has already escaped him because of the trauma. It wasn't long after his aggressive shaking, his sister came about all confused for a moment before the scene around her reminded her of the situation they were currently in. Tears started to fall from her eyes once again but Jago interrupted her before she could say something. "Princess, calm yourself. We need a way out of here for us to survive... do you know the nearest secret passage where we can use to get out of here?" Jago asked. Moira unable to respond vocally, nodded before pointing to a place behind the curtains at the dais where she happily stood with her family just hours earlier. Jago then secretly signaled Zarino before flying towards the place the princess subtly pointed. After doing so, Jago immediately flew towards their supposed meet-up place with the kids on his back. Then Zarino, quickly jumped into action, slashing enemies left and right while trying to get close to Gunther and Kygo who were still fighting back to back. Just as he closed the distance between them, he immediately relayed the message to them. "Behind the drapery at the throne area, there's a secret passageway out. We can't fight all of them now with their mages present! We'll be long gone before we know it!" He shout-hissed at them. Gunther, distracted—almost got his arm chomped off by a ghastly-looking beast but Kygo was quick to sever its head from the body by running his deathly blades along its neck. "What about Seraphina? We can't leave her be!" Kygo shouted. "I'll get her there!" Zarino replied with determination. The two elemental kings nodded in agreement before proceeding to create a big distraction by targeting the monsters protecting the mages who were tasked to create the barrier. As soon as they found an opening, Kygo slashed at the mages in front of him, causing them to lose concentration and the barrier to weaken. The other mages got a little bit distracted and some even shrieked in alarm but they had to remain in a position to keep the barrier up. It seems that their efforts were not in vain for as soon as Uriah heard the commotion from her mages, she turned to look at them—eyes wide in alarm, ready to kill anyone trying to come in between her plans. Seeing Kygo and Gunther in action elicited an ugly reaction from her. Uriah growl-shouted in frustration before creating a ball of mana and threw it near where Kygo was fighting a bull-like beast trying to push him off the mage's way like a big tractor. Luckily, Kygo was able to dodge by rolling himself by the wall.
Sensing Uriah getting distracted, Zarino, who was hiding behind the curtains, took this opportunity to swoop down and grab Seraphina who was currently trying to block Uriah's attacks by encasing herself inside a dome made of mana then quickly dragged her to safety. Earlier that day, they made an agreement with the now-dead Emperor to not bring their guardians along with them so as not to scare the human nobles who are attending the party. Now with the barriers, all up, all communication outside the castle walls has been cut. The moment Uriah noticed them, she started to react albeit belatedly sending balls of air mixed with mana their way but Zarino and Seraphina managed to dodge all of them. Uriah screamed in frustration. She immediately shouted orders to the nearest beasts and mages she could find but by now only half of the mages were alive and the barriers were barely holding on. Kygo and Gunther successfully managed to weaken her defense! Reality hit her fast. She knew she has to think of a plan and fast! These stupid human mages are so weak they have easily become a weakness to her! She can't allow them to successfully breach the dome because that would mean the end of her plans. With her newfound powers, Uriah managed to open a portal connecting to the land where the deadliest beasts and evil came from before unleashing a harrowing cry. For a few beats, there was silence before the loudest growl could be heard answering her call. Jago and the guardians felt ominous cold air around them. Moments later, Beasts that only exist from the scariest of nightmares started to come out of the portal Uriah made. Kygo and Gunther knew how grave their situation was. They immediately turned to action-grabbed both Zarino and Seraphina and ran across the room to where Jago and the kids were. Uriah's beasts ran after them, all after their heads. Just as they stepped near the dais, Seraphina created a barrier surrounding them for protection. The beasts pounded and tried to hit the barrier but to no avail. Mages used their powers to try and weaken the barrier but Seraphina was holding on. But she knew it wasn't gonna last long. Eventually, her powers will weaken the longer she uses them. She turned to them and nodded. "Where's the passage door?" Jago asked the shivering princess. Moira nodded before slowly dismounting from Jago, walking a few steps to the wall, and starting touching the wall surface. Moments later the wall rumbled before it started to move, revealing a doorway leading to a cramped hallway covered in darkness. As soon as it opened, they went in one by one with Jago entering first then Moira. Knowing they were soon next to enter, Seraphina lowered down the barrier. Kygo, Zarino, and Gunther started to fight the beasts aiming for them while slowly backing to the doorway. They almost had no time to breathe with how many monsters were trying to come close to them. Just as the doorway was about to slowly shut, Moira shouted, "Where's Arthur??? He was holding my hand just now!" They all turned to look at the other side of the doorway with terror in their eyes. Moira started thrashing and wanted to pull away from Kygo who took hold of her immediately after they saw what happened. "Arthuuuuuur!!!" She shouted in anguish. There they saw in horror as the prince was being held by a snake-like creature at mid-air his mouth gagged and tears of terror fell from his eyes. "I have to save him, please! Let's save him" she begged. They looked at her in eyes full of regret and sadness. They knew going back out to save the prince would render all of them a lost cause. It was a chance they have to regretfully take. Uriah was cackling in glee and evilness. She loved the look of resignation in their eyes. She relished it even. Her beasts were still trying to aim for the door but Seraphina has already made a barrier inside to keep them from entering it. "Do you think you can run away from me forever? Never!!!!" That was the last they heard of Uriah before the door closed with a loud thud. Leaving the prince in the hands of the enemy.
