I woke up with my alarm blaring form my phone. I woke up and checked my phone. Emma had already sent the message to me.
Joe's place. 1pm. Joe's place was a coffee shop that Emma and I have gone to take coffee and cookies.
I read the message and placed my phone back on the bed side table. I groaned as I ran my hands through my hair which was a mess right now.
It was still 10am. There is still time. I got out of bed and went downstairs. I met Jade already dressed.
"Hey." she greeted as she sipped from her coffee.
"Morning." I replied as I picked up her cup and drank out of it. "I could have made another one, you know?" she said as she gave me a small smile.
"Sorry. I needed it." I replied as I poured myself my own cup this time.
"How are you doing?" She asked looking at me sympathetically. "I am fine." I said as I sipped my coffee.
"Are you sure?" She asked as she washed her cup in the zinc before drying it. "Yh, I am meeting Emma later today." I stated as I walked to the living room, mug in hand.
"Really?" She asked "Yh, apparently he is not saying anything to her about what happened." I said.
"Oh." was all she managed to say.
"Shouldn't you be going to your Parent's place now?" I asked pointing towards the door. She laughed then picked up her bag and hugged me. "Have fun." I said as I hugged her back. "Sure." she replied and then left. I finished up my coffee and was suddenly in the mood for sugary things. Weird. I think Jade bought some cookies and chocolate though.
I went into the kitchen and then picked up the packet of cookies and chocolate. I sat back on the chair and picked up a pillow to make myself comfortable on the couch. I turned on the tv and started scrolling through to pick a movie to watch, suddenly when I heard my phone ring. I checked the caller ID, it was Eros. I put back my phone on the couch and settled on a movie. It was a romcom.
Halfway through the movie my phone rang. This time it was Emma, "Hey." I said as I walked into the kitchen. "We are still on, right?" She asked. "Yh." I replied as I put my phone on speaker and placed it on the counter. "Great!" She replied. I opened the fridge to pour myself an orange juice into the cup I already picked. "Okay, bye."
I was about to hang up when I heard her voice still on the line, "Janet, he called and he asked if I have spoken to you and..." she trailed off. Okay, this is pissing me off "and What?" I asked "he's getting drunk already Janet and he stopped going to work. You need to see him...he's not doing well" my heart broke hearing her say this. Am I been irrational? He had a wife all this while...he lied...everything was all a lie. Well, I am not doing well also.
"Janet...janet....janet!!" I heard jade's voice from the other line. "Sorry, I kinda zoned out" I said. "I have to go." I said as I picked up my cup and drank out of the orange juice. She sighed, "okay." and I hung up. I ran my hands through my hair and checked the time. It was almost 12. I drank my remaining juice and ran up to my room.
I put on a big white sweater and a blue ripped jeans with boots.
I carried my purse and checked my phone. I texted Emma telling her I'll meet her there, and put it into my purse before dashing downstairs. I got out of he house and then locked the door before walking down the street to hail a cab.
I told the cab driver the coffee shop I was going to, then brought out my phone. Emma had already replied saying she was there already. It took about 15 minutes to get there, "Thank you." I said as I handed the cab man my pay and got out. I walked into the coffee shop looking around for Jade until I found her sitting by the corner.
I walked over to her with a smile on my face "hey." she said when she noticed me. She stood up and hugged me "hi." I said as I sat down. I looked around the shop and it was cute. They had a bakery section too. "Do you want to order anything?" Jade asked when she saw me ogling at the eclair collection they had in the bakery section.
"Uh...No, I'm fine" I said instead. When I agreed to come meet her I didn't intend on staying long. "It's fine." she waved me off as she stood up and went to the bakery section. She came back with the eclair I was ogling at. "Thanks." I said as I put a piece in my mouth. Hmmmn...yum. "I spoke to him this morning. " she said when I was about to put an eclair in my mouth.
She does not need to mention his name, we both know who she's talking about. "Oh." was all I said as I adjusted myself on my chair "are you going to tell me what happened Janet?" She asked looking at me with concern "he won't tell anybody what happened."
I sighed as I sat back. "Who is Britney?" I asked as my eyes bore into hers "don't tell me this is what this is about" she murmed. "His ex wife." she said. Ex?
"Ex?" I said confused...but she said she was his wife. What the hell is going on? "Yh...they are divorced...actually not yet." she shrugged.
"What do you mean by not yet?" I asked her as I took a bit out of my eclair. "They are separated but not yet divorced....I don't think it's my place to let you know" she said as she sighed. "She came over to Eros and then met me downstairs while I was drinking coffee. Then...I don't everything got weird and then said she is Eros wife" I said feeling the heartbreak all over again.
"He tried to explain, but I was to annoyed to listen to what he had to say...so I just..." I trailed off "I just packed and left" I finished and looked at her with a teary eye. I should have just let him explain.

Jade grabbed my arms from across the table "It's okay, janet." I nodded as tears started falling. I took my hands away and cleaned my tears. "I still love him." I said my voice breaking as I glanced at a couple not far from us.
I could have been that happy. Damn...even more than happy. Eros made me alive. "He still loves you." she assured me. "So how about Rose' wedding plans?" I asked as I switched topics. Enough of my pathetic love life.
"It's going well."
"I would have been there," I sighed, "but with what is going on now with Eros, I don't think I can."
"It is fine."
"Tell Rose I will make it up to her."
"No problem. We can go shopping for our shoes. She said she wants three of us to have the same shoes."
"How about next week?" I shrugged, "fine by me." I smiled.
"Thank you Janet, for doing this." she said as she stood up. "It's okay. What are friends for?" I said as I stood up grabbing my purse. "I'll see you soon." I said as I pulled her in for a hug. "Sure." she pecked my cheeks before we both left the shop.
She offered to drop me off but I didn't want to risk Eros coming to find me.
