The Nikkah
EPISODE 3
She tried his phone number again for the third time and was about to start thinking of what to do when she heard his voice from the other end.
They exchanged teslim.
“How are you?” He asked her.
“I should ask you that?” She said to him and she heard him laugh and she eave a sign of relief.
“I am better and thanks for visiting. I am sorry you have to see me in that state...” He said finally.
“It is nothing ... I hope the pain has subsided?” She asked him.
“I want the truth?” She asked him and there was silence from him...
“Are you there?” She asked him.
“Yes I am, I was silent because you don’t want to believe me.” He said to her.
“I just want to know the truth.” She said.
“And she said it again.” He said.
“I am sorry.” She said.
“I am better much more better than the last time you are here.” He said to her.
“Alihamdulilah. I will come see you tomorrow ins sha Allah.” She said to him.
“Is there not something to do for the prep?” He asked her.
“Yasmina, I would not want anything to stop the prep because of my health... It will be better. .. it is part of me. .. and I will appreciate it if you just accept it that way ... I know I will be inconveniencing you every now and then and the better we see it as part of me the better.” He said to her and she nodded and tried to clean her eyes from the tears already forming in her eyes.
“Na’am, sis Sakinah promised to take me to spa tomorrow... Can I come check on you before going ... As soon as I return from school?” She asked him.
“Okay, no problem ... How is your sis? And I hope her preparation is going on too?” He asked her.
“Na’am, I appreciate your support.” She said to him.
“Alihamdulilah, ... I need to end the call now... I guess the injections I was given are beginning to have effect .. I have to go to sleep.” He said to and she heard him yawned ...
“Alright . Take good care of yourself and Jazakallahu khayr for calling.” She said and the call got disconnected and she realized that perhaps it might have gone to sleep. She eave a sigh of relief as she starred at her phone, she is relieved for speaking with him ...
At least he is fine
This was on her mind when she slept that night .
With tears in her eyes, she watched the last visitor left the room and it was dawned on her that a real life episode in her life had just started.
Tears streamed down her eyes uncontrollable and she know she just could not even stop it, how can she when the light in her life seem to just went off.
“Ya Allah,
How will I survive!
How will I start over!
She wanted to scream but no tears came, she still could not get over the shock,
How could she?
She used the back of her hands clean her damp face as the door opened and a man in his thirties came in, she sighed.
“So sorry for your loss.” The man said and she sighed again,
How can she live?
She is just twenty five years!!!
She cannot even make any decision without him..
He is the one doing everything, she has been through so much and he told her , with him, things with be better, of course they were ... At least to some extent
With tears in her eyes, she nodded as the man left the room and some more people entered, everyone seem so dark ...
How can she even forget how they meet...
He is the one of those few that matters to her ... and now he is gone, without even a good bye
How is she suppose to live
Without him!!!
He is all she has!!! He fought for her even at the expense of his own family!!!
She wiped her face and then she heard a familiar voice ...
Ashabi..Ashabi... ....and the voice keep coming until she felt someone shaking her and she opened her eyes and saw her sister looking at her and she sighed...
A dream ...
She sighed and realised it was a bad dream and then she remember the hadith
Abu Qatada reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: “A good vision is from Allah and a bad dream (hulm) is from the satan; so if one of you sees anything (in a dream which he dislikes, he should spit on his left side thrice and seek refuge with Allah from its evil, and then it will never harm him.”
And she quickly did that.
“You had a bad dream? You must be over thinking.” Shade said to her and she nodded quickly.
“Is it morning yet?” Ashabi asked and her sister shook her head...
“It is just twelve. .. “ Shade said and her sister nodded and she find it very difficult to sleep back till morning. ..
