Chapter 27 The peace of this holy place was gone in a snap.

SCARLETTE'S POINT OF VIEW
It was Nel . . . lifeless. I just talked to him earlier. I looked away.
"Damn it! I would have helped him if he did not stop me," I heard Asher hissed. I could sense his guilt about what happened. "It is not your fault," Dad spoke. "He chose not to let us. He chose to let us escape. He wanted to end it."
In a split of seconds, my head was aching. It felt like my brain was going to explode. "Ugh!" I felt Mom, Dad, and Asher holding my both arms to give support. My sight was turning around. When I closed my eyes, I saw visions. I saw Durlen and Rhode, together with a huge army of demons. Durlen was chanting something that I could not understand. His right hand was raised and a portal was slowly opening. "They are coming," I warned. It was almost a whisper. The pain was gone in a snap but along with my consciousness.

Luckily, all was in place before they finally arrived. Wart and Max were with me. Heta was on Earth together with the knights to ensure the safety of all living things. Many knights were scattered around the kingdom too.
Scarlette fainted after she saw some visions. We tried to wake her up but she succumbed to deep sleep. It seemed like all her energy was drained. She was in her room right now with Asher.
"I hope this sword would not fail me," Max told as he readied himself. He tried to hold the Hetar sword earlier but it flew away by itself. It did not like Max to be his holder anymore. It had acknowledged Scarlette as its new holder.
We got alert when we felt large forces coming. They appeared in front of us.
Durlen was smirking like hell itself. "It has been a long time, Er." I gave him a sharp look. "Yes. It has been a long time since you betrayed us," I said in a low voice. I was very itchy about killing him. I could not help but clench my fists.
"And it has been a long time until I finally know how to break the spell of this place. Thanks to my beautiful daughter who studied this spell." He referred to the girl beside him. It must be Rhode. He evilly laughed. "I did not expect that it was simply scrambled letters! H E T A R A T E H E A R T R A E A R T H – a stupidly clever code for a spell!"
"Are you just here to talk and talk?" I asked, annoyed by his froggy laughter. He stopped laughing. His expression turned dark. "I officially declare the war!" Both sides started to attack. I smirked. "You will regret this, Durlen."
ASHER'S POINT OF VIEW
Five hours had passed after the battle began and yet, still, here I was, inside Scarlette's room and was accompanying her. I could feel my energy slowly draining. I had been maintaining the barrier for the whole time just to prevent the demons from getting in!
SCARLETTE'S POINT OF VIEW
"Scarlette." I was walking alone in the middle of the darkness when I heard a man's voice. "Who is that?" My voice echoed. "Nel." Nel? "Nel, where are you?" I asked him. "Somewhere." What kind of answer was that? "Wait. I will find you." But where would I find him here? "No need. Just listen to me." Huh? "But-" he firmly cut me out, "Just listen. Use my heart's blood. Drop my blood on your sword and use it. You can kill my father with it. It is the only way."
I opened my eyes. The familiar room met my sight. Shouts, explosions, and sounds of clashing weapons were heard from the outside. The war had begun.
"Finally, you are awaked." Asher was sitting on the floor. His hands were pressed on the floor and green light waves were coming out from it. I just realized that he made a barrier.
'Use my heart's blood. Drop my blood on your sword and use it. You can kill my father with it. It is the only way.' I stood up quickly. 'Thanks, Nel.'
"How long was I asleep?" I asked. "Six hours." There was so much wasted time! "Are you ready?" he asked as he looked at me. He was worried again. "I got no choice!" He nodded. "Run in three . . . two . . . one . . . go!"
We opened the door and ran outside. As expected, demons and knights were fighting around. We used our powers to attack those demons coming on our way.
"Where are we going?!" Asher asked. "I will get my sword." He grinned widely as if he was teasing me. "You accepted it now, huh?" I just rolled my eyes. 'I accepted it the first time I touched it.'
We kept on running until we reached the room where the Hetar sword was located. I threw a fireball into the door to ruin it. I grabbed the sword from the center. When I held it, its crystal glowed. I smirked. "I guess this is your way of welcoming me," I told.
When we were about to go outside, some demons covered our way out. "Get away, ugly demons!" Asher created vines full of thorns around him. These attacked all the demons. We ran again when the way was cleared.
"Where are Mom and Dad?" I asked between my breaths. "Center hall, maybe. Probably, they are fighting with Durlen and Rhode." I created fire blades and threw them at the demons a few meters away in front of us. "How about Nel's body? Where is it?" I saw him in the side of my eyes, confused why I asked about it. "We need him," I added. "Center hall," he answered. "We need to hurry!"
