Arjay still manage to wake up early even though he slept late last night, and he woke up in a good mood! Well, if there's anyone to be grace for his good mood, it's Diana. It's a brief conversation but he enjoyed it. He smiled at the thought of her. He stood up from the bed and went down to get his morning coffee. His parents were already having breakfast when he entered the kitchen. Both of them looked at him, and they were surprised. "Good morning pa, good morning ma." He greeted them and he kissed his mother on the cheeks. "Good morning son." They both greeted him back. He went to the cupboard and grabbed a cup. He made a coffee for himself before he went to the dining table. "The event you are going to with Hanney is today, right?" his father asked. He raised his gaze because he literally forgot all about it. He returned his gaze at the food. "Yes pa. But the event wil be at 7 in the evening." He replied and serve himself some breakfast. "Hmmnn... Someone's feeling excited, I supposed." His mother stated and smiled a bit. He didn't reply but he smiled just to be polite. He started eating. "What particular event is that again?" his father asked. "A golden wedding anniversary, pa." he replied after he swallowed his food. "Oh, it's Vice Mayor Gonzales and his wife's anniversary! She's invited?" his mother asked. "Yes, ma. Hanney is their goddaughter." He answered His mother nodded. They ate silently. VWhen they were done, his father went to the living room. Arjay fixed the table. "It's okay son. I'll take care of that." His mother said and went to him to stop him from what he is doing. He smiled. "It's okay, ma. I don't have anything to do, anyway." He said. "Well you have to prepare for the event." She said. "It's still early ma. The event is at 7 in the evening, so I will be preparing at four, and then I will travel at five, so I can pick Hanney at around 6:30. We'll be there on time, ma. Don't worry." "You seemed inspired. Are you excited about meeting Hanney... or is there someone else?" his mother asked. He looked at her and she is smiling meaningfully at him. He laughed a bit and shook his head. "Why are you looking at me like that, ma?" he asked while putting the dishes on the sink. He started washing off the crumbs on the plate. "It's just that, you're in such a good mood today. I'm not saying you're always grumpy because you never were grumpy. But your mood is extra today! You woke up early, you fixed the table... and now you're washing the dishes! So l am guessing there 's someone..." He laughed. His mother frowned. "Why are you laughing? l am just stating what l am seeing on you." she remarked. "Don't worry ma. If there's someone, you will be the first one to know." He said. He looked and smiled at his mother. "You promise?" she asked him. "Cross my heart." He said. His mother hugged him. He hugged her back. "You're still my little boy." She said and pulled away. "Are you sure you can do that?" she asked again. "Yes, ma." "I'll leave you then." She said and went out of the kitchen. He continued washing the dishes. When he was done, he went to his room. As soon as he entered the room, his phone rang. He sprinted at the bedside table to check the caller. He felt a bit of dismay when he saw the caller. He answered the phone. "Hi Hanney!" he greeted. "Hi Arjay! Did I wake you up?" she asked. "No, I just had my breakfast actually. I left my phone here in my room. Were you calling me a while ago?" he asked. "Yes. It's my fourth call actually, so I thought you were still sleeping. Thank God you're not." She said. "Yeah, sorry about that. By the way, what's up?" he asked. "I'm just calling to remind you about the event tonight." "1 will be picking you up at 6:30. Will that be fine with you?" "Yes, of course. l'm sorry for the hassle." It's fine with me. Don't worry about it." He said. "Thank you Arjay." "Don't mention it. I'm glad I could be of help. Anyway, will that be all?" "Yes, that will be all. See you tonight." "See you tonight." He said and Hanney ended the call He went through his cabinet to look for a good tux. He picked a black slim fit peak lapel. He only wore this once. Tonight will be his second time using it. "I hope this still fits.." he said and tried it on. He checked himself on the full body mirror hanging on the wall outside, between his and his parents' room. "It looks better on you now than the first time you wore it." He turned around and saw his mother at the edge of the stairs. She smiled at him. He looked down at himself and he looked at his mother. He smiled at her. "1guess so, too, ma." "Is that what you're going to wear later?" "Yes, ma." "Great choice, son. You should fix your hair, too. Brush you're hair a bit up on the side." "I'll do that ma. Thanks for the advice." He smiled. "I bet Hanney will fall in love with you again." She teased. "We're friends, ma." "1 know, I'm just teasing you." she said and went inside their room. He went back inside his room, too and removed the tuxedo. He grabbed a book and sat on the bed, his back rested on the head board. He will just read and wait for the time. He was so hooked up with the book he was reading so when his phone blurted out the alarm ringtone, he was startled. He turned the alarm off and closed the book. He went to take a bath. When he was all ready, he went downstairs. His parents were sitting on the living room, watching tv. They both turned to look at him when they heard his footsteps. "That tux looks better on you now, son." His father commented "Thanks pa." "Are you going now, son?" his mother asked. "Yes ma. It's already quarter to five." He replied. He went to his parents to kiss his mother. His father handed the keys to him. "I'll go now, ma, pa." "Take care, son." They both said. He smiled at them and he went outside. He opened the car door and went inside. He dialed Hanney's number. After a few rings, she answered the call. "Hi Ariay. I'm still getting ready." She began. "Take your time. I just called to let you know I will be on my way there. Anyway it's still an hour drive so, you just take your time to prepare." He said. "Okay. Take care. See you later." She said and hang up. He started the car and drove off. While driving, he went pass through Diana's hometown, and unexpectedly, he saw Albert wearing a white long sleeves, hanging on his right shoulder is a black tuxedo. Arjay frowned but he shrugged of the thought. Albert probably went to another event, or he's probably going somewhere formal. He went pass Albert and continued on his way. After an hour drive, he finally arrived at Hanney's house. He got off the car and went to the gate to press the doorbell. The gate opened, an old lady appeared. He smiled. "Hi Manang Leng." He greeted the old lady. The old lady smiled as she recognized him. "Arjay, is that you? You've grown more handsome! Come in. Hanney is inside." She said and closed the gate. "Thank you, Manang." He said and followed the lady inside the house. As soon as he entered the main door, his gaze focused on Hanney walking down the stairs. He smiled at her. She smiled back. "You're elegant." He complimented her and went at the bottom of the stairs to offer his arms to her. "Thank you." she replied As soon as she reached the bottom of the stairs, she clutched her arms to his. "You really looked good together. I hope you two get back with each other." Manang Leng said. They both smiled to the old lady. Manang Leng had been their number 1 supporter. "Would you like me to take your pictures together?" the old lady asked. "Sure, Manang. Here." Hanney handed her phone to Manang Leng "Okay, smile!" Manang Leng said and took their pictures. "Here. You'll be late. You should go now. You are very pretty, Hanney." The old lady complimented. "Thank you, Manang. Well be going now. Tell mom and dad." Hanney said. "Yes, I will tell them. Enjoy the party." "Yes, manang. Goodbye. It's nice to see you again." Arjay said and hugged the old lady. "It's good to see you, too, Arjay." She said. They went out of the house, straight to the car. He opened the door for Hanney before he went to the driver's seat and drove off to the venue. They arrived just on time. The guard checked their invitation card. Hanney showed the card and they let them in. They went to the available table. Before they took their seats... "Excuse me for a while, Arjay. I will just greet my godparents. Will you be okay here alone? I will just be brief. Or just come with me, so you could also meet them." Hanney said. "Sure. So they wouldn't wonder who I might be." He said. They went to the old couple and greeted them. The old couple were happy to see Hanney. They talked some more before another visitor went to greet the old couple. Hanney and Arjay excused themselves and when they turned around to go back to their seats...
