Silence hung in the air conditioned living room like an invisible cloak .
He hugged her to himself , giving her the warmth she needs and reassuring himself that she was here now .
She was here now . And that's all that matters .
He could wait . He'll wait .
She sniffed the tears back and wiped her red eyes . She moved away from him a little and sat upright
"I didn't mean to do that. I swear . " She looked at him with a regret filled gaze and hoped that he would understand
"I knew you didn't mean to do that . But why ?? There's got to be a reason at least . " His tone sounded soft now . Unlike the cold voice of before .
He had quickly gone soft and all his anger had flew away .
"It all began that day ... " She trailed off .

Emily saw three men following her in the mall and she thought she'd confirm herself .
She told Nancy to wait for her while she went to the bathroom .
While walking she realized that the men were still following her . Before she could make a turn to go back , one of the men had grabbed her and placed a white handkerchief on her face , choking her with it .
Before she passed out completely she saw flurry of faces and one that looked like Nancy's . Grinning wickedly down on her .
Then everything went black
Emily coughed a little as she opened her eyes . Both her eyes and throat felt sore and itchy .
What had happened??
She panicked ,and tried to survey and see where exactly she was .
She couldn't turn . She had been tied down to the chair !!!
She wiggled and struggled only to find out that she was making the rope more tight.
Had she been kidnapped??
That seemed like the only plausible excuse as she gaze around in the dark .
The room was dark and had a murky air surrounding it . The window was so high that even the little light coming from outside did no good in helping her vision .
She tried to shout , to say something but the words refuse to come .
She had to get out of here somehow !!! She tried to rack her brain , how could she get out ?? Was there a way to get out ? A secret passage way perhaps??
"Hello.... " She croaked the words out .
She bit her lips and fought the urge to break into uncontrollable sobs .
How had things gotten this bad ?
She was sure that Micheal and the would be worried sick like this .
A piece of quite forgotten information slipped back into her head .
Before she completely passed out and give in to the darkness , she remembered seeing Nancy's face grinning down at her .
Could it be .....
Hey there's no way Nancy would be the Mastermind behind her being kidnapped??
Or at least that's what it's seems .
She had clearly left Nancy among the racks the clothes before leaving for the bathroom.
How come she had been there ??
Then everything begin to make sense .
The way Nancy had always been staring at Micheal lewdly. How come she didn't notice ??
Nancy had been in love with Micheal right from the beginning,!!! That explains why she looked so shocked and annoyed when Alicia suggested marriage
She shook her head and smiled , despite her situation .
So Nancy had actually been in love with Micheal throughout the whole time ?
She always knew something was up with her . She was trying so hard for someone" who claimed to be nice . "
Emily had caught her a few times , deliberately trying to show off to Micheal .
She had simply dismissed it as attraction. Because actually Micheal was someone that people can't look once ..
His handsomeness was other wordly and not from this world .
Still , Emily couldn't help but find all this charade amusing .
Was Nancy trying to kill Emily ? So that Micheal would start looking at her ??
"Pfft .." she burst into laughter .
Just that notion of Micheal falling I love with Emily is amusing . T
The door creaked open and Emily strained her ear to hear the footsteps .
What is this place anyways ??
Why isn't she able to hear anything? Was this place soundproof?
She didn't know, neither does she care to know. All she actually cared about right now is waiting to see what's going to happen .
The person or persons as it looked, switch on the light . Making Emily close her eyes from the impact .
Her eyes had adjusted to the dark and was finding it hard to cope with the blinding white light
" I see you've made yourself at home . " Nancy snickered at Emily and smiled smugly
Emily reciprocated with a smug smile of her own . She smirked and gaze defiantly at Nancy .
Nancy looked a bit taken aback by Emily's action . She expected her to cower away in fear
Emily was trying so hard not to laugh again at how hilarious Nancy looked
" Suprise much ??. "Nancy refused to back down from the game. Why should she ??
Afterall she's the one in charge here's
" Nope not suprised " Emily replied back . With that same haughty attitude . She isn't going to give in that easily
"I've had my guesses about you . I just did not expect it to be this soon . " She spat out at her
Nancy paced around the chair which Emily had been tied on . Angrily
"Why does it have to be you ?! What's so special about you huh ? What is it that you have and I lack ,? "
"I'm more pretty than you are , I'm better qualified than you . I have a good figure . Connections too . But no , he won't look at me . Just you !! Only you ! "
"So ?? . " Emily asked . Assuming a bored and uninterested look on her face
Nancy laughed like a maniac , pacing to and fro . Emily saw something glinting in the light .
It was a knife .
She gulped down air and looked around . Nancy was not alone , as she had came in with a man .
Emily recognized the huge buff man . It was the man that had hurled her away with the handkerchief .
He had a scar that ran along his face right to his left cheek . He had an eery smile on his scarred face
Emily fought the urge to shudder in disgust and apparently fear . All her earlier bravado had flew out of the window .
Nancy continued talking gibberish .
"I tried to seduce him , did everything to gain his attention but he never looked at me . "
"But aren't you his cousin ?? . " Emily tried to stall for time . As Nancy was approaching her menacingly with the knife !
"You see , cousins could get married in Italy. It's no big deal . It's keeps the family down fresh and deep . And away from insect like you . " She stood in front of Emily and held the knife up
"You have such a pretty eyes . Is it because of your eyes ?? Was that the reason why Micheal is so much in love with you ?? . " She angled Emily's face upward and caressed her face
Emily had to think fast !!
Nancy was bringing down the knife
"I could teach you . " She tried to sound nonchalant but failed miserably . Her voice was shaking
Nancy stopped for a moment and looked at her , intrigued
"Teach me what ??. "
"I could teach you how to make Micheal fall in love with you . Infact he'll fall head over heels in love with you . Trust me . " She gulped hard again .
Nancy placed her fingers on her chin pretending to think for a while before speaking . And when she did , it broke Emily's heart again
"Thank you but no . " And she laughed .
Emily had never seen a mad person before and right now Nancy fits so much into the description of" mad "
Then it occurred to her that Nancy was obsessed with Micheal ! This isn't love !
It's obsession!
"Even if you cut or tear my face , it doesn't guarantee that Micheal would fall in love with you . It doesn't mean anything . , " She tried to talk senses into her head and hoped that it worked this time around
"Shut up !!!!! . " She bellowed angrily . She flung her hands up in the air and she had a crazed look on her face .
Emily was almost pitying her . Nancy is suffering from obsession.
Nancy stalked towards Emily and grabbed her forcefully by the chin .
"Micheal is mine and mine alone !! He's gonna love me ! I'll get married to Micheal . " She was speaking g into Emily's face now .
Eeeww . Her breath reeks of onion and mustard

" Roger dear , come here . " Nancy motioned for the huge man that stood by the door . The man whom Emily had forgotten about his existence in a frenzy of emotion

"Yes ma'am . " He stood beside Nancy
"Slap her . " Nancy replied sweetly . She moved back to allow him access .
A slap resounded through the whole room and Emily's whole body shook from the impact .
Her ears instantly went red .
But Emily refused to cry ! .
She refused to give Nancy the satisfaction of seeing her tears .
"Again !"
" Again ?"
" Again ! "
"What more can you do ?? Nothing of course . Nothing . " Emily spat out blood from her mouth and looked up at Nancy .
"Doing all this won't make Micheal love you . And I have a proposal but it seems like you're not interested .."
"Slap her again !! . " Nancy spoke furiously .
How dare she talk back to her ? After all she did ?
After all she did ? She still had the guts to talk back
Emily's face was swollen and bruised . Her stomach was making sounds .
"Oh baby you're hungry ?? ." Nancy asked softly . Making Emily wondered what again was happening .
"Roger get her something to eat . " She shooed the man away .
Then Emily saw something else. It was her phone , it was lying beside the suitcase that was placed besides the door.
Great !
Now she just needs to find a way to reach her phone . Nancy was humming a tune , still pacing up and down
Who would have thought that the ever sweet and caring Nancy was rotten on the inside??
Rotten to the core .
She received a phone call and her eyes lit up .
Emily was sure that Micheal was the caller ..
"Hello . " Nancy spoke into the phone . Sounding nothing like the she - devil that she was .
"Yeah , I went out for a walk. I've been trying my best not to overthink things . I'm scared Micheal I'm scared ! What if we don't find her ?huh ". She made a sniffing sound while smiling smugly at Emily
"Are the kidnappers saying anything?"
