Chapter 17 White, Empty

At this point Charlie didn't seem to want to talk about it. The look in his eyes seemed to make Joseph who was with him feel bad. While they were talking together, it seemed that his cousin was asking questions that made Charlie feel bored and finally left his cousin there alone.
"I'll go first," said Charlie
"Where are you going? I want to know about that battle. answer all my questions first."
The result is still the same. Seeing his cousin ignore him, Joseph immediately sat back in silence while looking at the scene that was now in front of his eyes. When he had left his cousin, Charlie suddenly remembered something and began to enter a room close to his brother's bedroom. There, he found a cupboard and then opened it. Inside a cupboard there were several old documents that made him feel curious until he finally checked them one by one. The contents of the document were just ordinary magazine news and that wasn't what he wanted at all. A few minutes later, Joseph who had been outside then entered the room and saw that one of the old rooms had the door open. He slowly checked the place and found that Charlie was in the room.
"What are you doing?" asked Joseph who innocently asked Charlie
"There are a few things I want to tidy up."
“Tidy up the papers? you have nothing else to do right? It looks so boring.”
"That's just your opinion. This is fun for me.”
Joseph then left the room and seemed unwilling to have anything to do with cleaning-related activities. Meanwhile, Charlie, who had been keeping an eye on the old documents in the cupboard, now reorganized them and immediately left the room.
"What should I do?" mumbled Charlie looking worried
"Did you clean it up?" said Joseph who was seen watching his favorite cartoon program.
"Oh, right. I just finished cleaning everything.”
"You don't have to. Just leave it."
"It is true. But I don't like being messy."
"Fine, it's up to you."
Charlie then sat on the sofa with Joseph and watched television. Not long after that someone knocked on the door and then without further ado, Joseph got up from his seat and opened the door to his house. As soon as he opened the door, apparently an adult man appeared in front of him with a tall posture with a neat appearance. That person also looks friendly with a smile that seems very happy to meet Joseph. The person in front of him now was none other than one of his relatives named Billy.
"Welcome uncle," Joseph said kindly to Billy
"Oh, yes. Oh, looks like you're not alone, are you?"
"Right. Charlie's been here for a week. Come here uncle and have a seat."
"Okay."
"Hello, uncle," Charlie said to him
"Yes. Hello Charlie. How was your day?"
"Yes?"
“Are you going to school as usual? You study hard too, don't you?"
"Ah, that's… right."
"Good. You must be a diligent and smart person.”
Uncle Billy's words sounded enough to make him feel tense. It wasn't long before Joseph seemed to be expecting something from his uncle. Her face filled with hope made Charlie who saw it feel surprised. His uncle then took out something from his bag and it turned out to be a gift to be given to the two of them. With great pleasure, Joseph immediately accepted the gift.
"Thank you uncle," said Joseph happily
"You're welcome. Hope you like it, and this is for you Charlie," Billy's uncle said as he handed him a present.
"Ah, thank you uncle."
"Yes. You two have been working really hard so far. So of course you deserve it.”
'What? trying hard for what?' thought Charlie who was still surprised
"Oh yeah uncle how about uncle's vacation?" ask Joseph
“The vacation was quite satisfying. Even though it's not exactly a vacation."
"Why? Did something happen?”
"Not. It's not about what happened but it was more work than vacation."
"I see, uncle."
"Right."
“But, it looks like fun. How's the story uncle?"
"Should I tell him?"
"Yes, of course."
Joseph kept forcing his uncle to tell him about his vacation experience. While Charlie was silent as he watched the two of them continue to talk. His face slowly looked at the gift in front of him, Charlie immediately sighed and went back to listening to the two of them talk. The warm atmosphere that was felt, that was the current depiction in front of him. Unintentionally, Charlie also smiled when he listened to all the funny stories of his uncle with his cousins. It didn't feel like it was getting dark. The warmth that was entwined now had started to return to the way it was before.
“Uncle will go again?” ask Joseph
"Right. Because uncle's co-workers just sent a message to uncle to come back to see them soon. You two stay here."
"Okay uncle," said Charlie
After the uncle left, Joseph and Charlie closed the door to their residence. However, this time in a different place. The visible place was filled with bright light. A room that almost blinds the eye. At this place, Jason suddenly opened his eyes and was now inside a large empty room. With questioning eyes, he looked around and there was no one there but himself. Surprised, he looked at his hands which looked fine and now he was wearing white clothes like pajamas.
"Where is this? Wait a minute, where did the people go?” Jason muttered as he walked out of the bed that was there and tried to approach the door.
"Can't open? What is this? Am I locked in this room?”
Various kinds of questions kept filling his head. Now Jason is still trying to open the door and the result is the same. At the same time, right in a surveillance room a man was seen watching a surveillance camera. There, there were a lot of people in the same room as Jason. They also looked confused and tried to shout to say something. The man continued to watch from the recorded video casually. There was also Jason who was still standing in front of the locked door.
"What about their progress?" said someone who suddenly entered the surveillance room.
"Still no fight. This probably won't be a problem. It's just a matter of time.”
"Oh, good. Keep an eye on them.”
"Ready. Don't worry, no one will be able to escape. So far it's never been possible."
"I trust you."
“Oh yeah, what did the chairman say?”
“Still haven't said anything. I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet."
"Good grief."
