CHAPTER 10 | The Rejected’s Revenge

Meanwhile, in the Morgans’ home, a loud outburst of anger and heartbreak could be heard from the room of young master Morgan – Seth, the only son of the Morgan family.
Pillows, shattered pieces of glass, and a broken lamp were scattered on the floor. The room was a complete mess while Seth was kneeling on his bed with an agitated expression on his face. The room was dark. The only light that illuminated Seth’s gloomy night was the erratic strikes of lightning from his transparent glass window. The heavy tears of the rain, along with the loud, angry roars of thunders were his comfort.
“Who was that punk?” he whispered to himself, his voice filled with contempt. “Could she have fallen in love with a rogue?” he sneered. “I won’t lose you to a rogue. I’ll make sure of that.” He got off of his bed and sat on his study table, his body facing the full-length mirror with a mocking smile plastered on his restless face. He let out a sarcastic laugh and smirked evilly in the mirror as he took out his phone. “Hello? I need you to check on someone.”
The following morning, Seth woke up early and dressed himself handsomely in his school uniform. He wore a maroon blazer with white rims over his white long-sleeved polo shirt and black pants. His outfit was completed by a pair of black high-top sneakers and a maroon necktie. He smirked handsomely at his reflection. Seth had a tall build of about five foot and ten inches. He was pretty muscular too since he frequented the gym and worked out a lot. If Bella would give up her chance for the alpha’s throne, he was fit for the position.
“Young master?” a voice called out. “A guest is waiting for you downstairs, young master.”
“I’ll be there, Rita.” Seth left his room and followed their slave down the stairs to their living room.
A man in his early thirties was sitting and patiently waiting on their living room sofa, a brown envelop was in his hand. His eyes lit up upon seeing Seth walking inside the room. He immediately stood up and bowed at the beta’s son. “Good day, young master.”
“Did you bring it?” Seth asked as he motioned the man to sit.
“Yes, young master. Please check this envelope.” The man handed the brown envelope to Seth. A satisfied grin immediately crawled upon his face.
“Good work, Hernando,” he said as he checked the papers inside the envelope. “I already wired you the payment. Check your account.”
The man named Hernando smiled joyously. “Thank you so much, young master.”
“No worries,” he replied. “Rita, tell the driver to pitch my black Mercedes by the gate. We’ll leave immediately for school. Hernando, we can drop you off along the way.” Hernando nodded gratefully at Seth and Rita did what she was told.
It seemed like the beta’s son wasn’t brokenhearted at all. However, the satisfied smirk on his face while walking ahead of Hernando towards their gate gave off a mysterious glint of mischief. The perfect son of the Morgans was a completely different person the moment he woke up the day after a night filled with heartbreak. Love was indeed dangerous. It could turn angels into ravening wolves and wolves with halos into angels with horns.
As soon as Seth arrived in the Nighthowler Academy of Werewolf Warriors, he immediately marched into the headmaster’s office. He turned the knob after a voice allowed him to come in. Inside the office was a man in his sixties sitting on a swivel chair, his back facing the entrance door while his eyes were on the students on the school field. Seth stood there for a moment as he stared at the headmaster’s name plate on the center of the table in front of him.
“Good morning, headmaster,” Seth greeted. “I’m here to report something about your granddaughter.”
The swivel chair slowly turned to face Seth, revealing a curious set of hazel eyes looking straight into his dark brown ones. Sevrio nodded and motioned him to speak.
“Last night when I was about to leave after I drove Bella home after our date, I saw her with a male rogue who was about our age in your home backyard, sir.”
“A rogue?” Sevrio repeated, his brows furrowed in a frown.
Seth nodded as he continued. “Before that, while I was waiting for Bella in the restaurant, I also saw him walking with Bella on the streets. It seemed like they were getting along, sir. I believe Bella was with him before she met up with me in the restaurant. In fact, she was more than an hour late to our date.”
“I heard from my granddaughter that she rejected you,” Sevrio said as he arranged the files on his table. “Are you telling me the truth? Or are you only doing this to get back at Bella for rejecting you?”
“I was hurt, sir, I admit. I still am right now,” Seth admitted as he held the headmaster’s gaze. “However, I still like Bella, sir. I wouldn’t do anything that could harm her. I told you what I saw last night because I thought that you could do something about it since she’s your granddaughter. I’m willing to wait for Bella, sir. I don’t want her future to be ruined by a mere rogue.” Seth’s words were convincing. Though, he was not lying, he was only telling the truth – the truth that shouldn’t be told to the former alpha.
“What else do you know?” Sevrio asked him in a low tone, his eyes serious. “Who was that rogue? Why was he in my home?”
Seth smirked inwardly upon hearing the headmaster’s question, but he kept a worried face as he handed a brown envelope to the former alpha. “He’s a descendant of the rebellious clan of Beethovens, sir. He’s the son of alpha Apollo’s former beta who was banished and demoted into an omega with his family.”
Sevrio’s eyes were flaring as his eyes scanned the papers inside the envelope which Seth handed him. Anger was slowly built up inside him as his eyes read each word about Axel’s profile. “How did you know about that rogue? Where did you get this?” Sevrio asked him suspiciously.
“I have a good memory, so, I remember that rogue’s face clearly. Also, I remembered that Bella was wearing a coat that I never saw her wear before. It was a cheap French coat which she managed to look expensive, but when I saw a familiar stamp on the hem of the coat, I identified that it was bought from Camp Clover. I know you would never let her own clothes from the land of the omegas and rogues,” Seth deduced and the headmaster couldn’t hide his impressed expression as he listened. “I hired a private investigator last night and asked about the profiles of all the eighteen to twenty year-old male rogues in Camp Clover. I saw that rogue’s face in the file my investigator sent last night and I immediately asked my investigator if he could run a background check on him. That’s how I knew him, sir.”
“You are impressive, Seth. It’s a loss if I can’t have you as my grandson in law.” Sevrio stood up from his swivel chair and walked closer to Seth. He patted the young man’s back, somewhat assuring him of something he was yet to proclaim. “You are perfect for the throne of the alpha, but it’s a shame that I cannot promise you that position because Bella wants it. However, I will make sure you marry my granddaughter. I will make sure that an heir will be born under your surname.”
Seth could no longer hide his satisfaction and smiled gratefully at Sevrio, flattered that the headmaster and former alpha thought of him highly. “That would be an honor, sir.”
“As for the rogue,” Sevrio trailed off as he went back to his seat, “I will take care of it. Bella must be starting a revolution with rogues like her father did years ago. Like father, like daughter,” he muttered scornfully. “I will not let history repeat itself.”
“I only want what’s best for Bella, sir. You should do what you have to as his grandfather and former alpha of our pack,” Seth commented. “I hope I wasn’t meddling with your family matters, sir.”
“I’m grateful that you told me. Otherwise, my granddaughter would keep on backstabbing her own family without our knowledge,” Sevrio replied angrily. “I will give you extra merit for this, young man. You may return to your class now.”
“There’s no need for an extra merit, sir. I only wanted to help,” he said, but he did want an extra merit. It could be his chance of surpassing Bella’s top place in the academy ranking. “I’ll visit again soon, headmaster. Thank you for your time.”
Seth exited the headmaster’s office, a smirk was plastered on his lips as he walked down the hallway to his first class. His plan worked perfectly and he even gained a merit for it.
“I won’t lose you to a rogue, Bella,” he muttered as he entered the classroom. He searched for Bella’s presence inside. However, there was no trace of her. Bella had never been late to class before. She was usually the first to come. Today, however, Bella was nowhere to be seen.
