Camerron's Point of View
Everything has returned to normal since the scene happened in our classroom. I never avoided Nial again and I don't want to do it again because of what he said.
Every other day I visit the hospital after my class so even though Nial wanted to take me home I was not allowing him. Many have also noticed changes in my body and even I also feel the constant weakness of the body.
Whenever I was in the hospital I always visited Nathalie in her ward to play games and talk when her mommy allowed me to take her out of the hospital garden.
I found out he had a rare disease in which he suddenly fell asleep. I can't help but feel sorry for her because she's too young, but even so you can still see the joy in her eyes. I kept thinking that if I was only his age when my illness got worse, I might not be afraid now for the people I will leave behind.
"Are you ok? Are you sick?"
He rubbed my forehead and gave me a strange look. Nial and I are here on the school grounds now, because everyone's class are suspended due to a sudden meeting of teachers.
"I'm fine, why?" I answer him.
"Because you're pale, eh, it looks like your eyes are drooping. Are you sure you're ok?" He asked in a worried look.
"Of course master, it's just hot here, maybe that's why."
"Maybe you need to go home, for you to take a rest." He suggested.
"Don't you want to be with me master?" I said jokingly.
Suddenly his eyebrows met. I know he will lecture me again so O just laugh because of his expression.
"You know how much I want to be with you so I asked you not to ignore me again, right? But I'm worried because you don't look fine." He told me seriously and straight.
I don't want to assume but I think he's starting to be sweet. His words and actions makes me think that. I'm just finding myself blushing and my heart beating so fast.
"My master, I'm fine."
I suddenly thought of something so I immediately pulled him out of the school gate.
He kept asking where we were going but I didn't answer him. He was just blabbering on until I finally saw the big narra tree.
"You know, you're like a woman when you're complaining," I laughed at him.
"Wait, what are we doing here?"
"Just follow me."
I let go of his hand and ran up fast, he followed me while shouting and calling my name.
I reached the highest and the big narra tree. Soon I felt Nial behind me but he didn't say anything so I faced him.
I was surprised by his reaction because he was just looking at the big tree now while his face was very serious.
"Master?"
I waved in front of his face so he suddenly came back to reality.
"S-sorry"
"Is there a problem?"
He looked at the tree again before speaking again.
"This place and this tree just seems familiar."
I also looked at the tree and looked at it. That’s right, super familiar. I would also like to say that we had the same reaction when I saw this place but I just keep quiet.
"Look master oh, I can see the whole city."
I looked at the view and breathed in the fresh air. I'll miss it so much when I'm gone.
"Why do you always show me things like this? First at the ferries wheel, now here." His voice was obviously surprised.
I stared at him while smiling.
"So that you can see how beautiful the world is, so that you can tell yourself that you are lucky because you have lived. Because there are people who want to see the world but they can't. There are people who want to experience life but can't."
I stared at him while saying that. I remember Nathalie, she only lived a few years but she would disappear soon. Even I, even if I want to, I can't.
"Oh, why are you staring at me?" He was smiling as he stared back at me.
"I'm just looking at how beautiful the world is. You're right, it's so beautiful."
"H-ha?"
"Nothing, let's sit there oh," he said.
He went under the big tree and sat down. I followed him and sat down next to him as well.
"Master, what's your 8th wish?"
He turned to me and suddenly messed up my hair.
"Why do you seem to be in such a hurry to fulfill my wish? As if you will suddenly disappear," he laughed jokingly.
"What if I'm actually going to disappear?"
His face becomes serious.
"Didn't I told you that it's forbidden to stay away from me again?"
I didn't answer, instead I just laugh to hide the pain. My heart wanted to explode.
We stayed under the tree for a few hours while talking about things. We haven't come home yet because he said he wants to watch the sunset from here.
"Master! There it is! The sun is about to set!"
I stood up to take a good look at the setting sun. I felt him stand up too because he had been standing by my side for a while.
"Wow! So beautiful. Master, do you see?" I feel like a happy child.
"Yeah I see, it's so nice." His answer was simple.
"This is the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen," he continued.
"This is really the best."
I turned to him but I was surprised to see that he was just staring at me.
"Master?"
"Do you remember when I asked you if I could get to know you better?"
I just nodded as an answer.
"Can I change that question now?"
I didn't know what to react so I just waited for him to speak again and finish what he was going to say.
"Camerron. Can I ... Can I date you?"
To my great shock I literally could not find a word to answer him. I was stunned by what he said.
"Camerron ..." he called to me.
"Why?"
I only told him but I realized that I just answered his question with another question.
He looked me straight in the eyes causing me to feel like I was going to melt. Here it is again, the surroundings are stopping again.
"Because I love you."
By the time he said those three words it all became clear to me. The reason why my heart beats fast when I see and be with him, the sudden stop of my world every time he looks at me and the anger I feel every time he is with someone else.
All of that means only one thing. I love him, I love you too Nial.
But why, why do you have to love me? My feelings got heavy . I love him but I can't.
He grabbed my two shoulders and pulled me closer to him.
"Please, let me love you, that's my 8th wish. I know it's selfish but I just want to make you feel my love." He sounds so sincere.
"Didn't I tell you, master, that I can't fulfill a wish that is impossible to fulfill?" I tried not to break my voice. I didn't want to let him know that I was having a hard time.
It breaks my heart every time I think I can't. That maybe it will only take me a week or a month to live so how, how can I fulfill his wish.
"Why? Why not?" he asked confused.
"Because it's impossible, after all, we just met, aren't we?"
I know it's not true. A few years, a few years ago when I first saw him and was with him in my dream. Now I'm sure it's him because what I feel in reality every time I'm with him is the same as when I was with him in my dreams.
But how? How can I say I have known him for a long time?
"Will time determine how a person will feel?" the sadness was obvious in hid voice and eyes. If you only knew Nial, I would want to hug you now, but I can't.
"I'm sorry, but it's impossible, please." I tried to keep my voice firm and happy.
"Camerron tell me why it's impossible!"
I can't control my tears anymore. My tears started to flow as well as my feelings to him.
"I-I'm sick Nial." I said in the middle of my sob.
"You'll get better, you won't be sick for the rest of your life, will you?"
I shook my head as I suppressed the intensity of my crying. Why he still needs to know this way. Why has it all been so difficult.
"You do not understand..."
"Cams please ..." He tightened his grip on my shoulder.
"I'm going to die ..."
He didn't speak, he just stared at me as if I had told a very corny joke and he couldn't decide if he would laugh or not.
We remained in that position without speaking. I don’t even know what to say anymore. Something suddenly blocked my throat while my tears were still dripping.
"Tell me you're lying"
He broke the silence. The sun kept setting. I hope so, I hope I'm just lying, I hope it's not true. I hope it's just a dream, that I can wake up and then the reality is different.
