Chapter 33
I immediately ran to the whereabouts of Prince Arsh when I saw the three Lacandia soldiers who had been behind me earlier. If Prince Arsh hadn't seen it, I would probably have been in their position, I'm the one lying on the floor now. Little did I know that my life had been on the brink of death. I would have seen San Pedro soon.
I still can't fight them because there are three of them. What am I up against? Three versus one? Also, I don’t have enough fighting knowledge yet. I definitely lose when it happens. It’s good and ‘the Princes still don’t realize that I’m a Princess but I don’t know how to fight.
"Don't be afraid, I won't let you get hurt." Prince Arsh greeted me with a tight hug and gently stroked my hair. He was trying to erase the fear I had felt before. In those hugs, I could feel that he would never leave me and that he was always there, ready to protect me at any time.
It didn't take long for him to hug me because it also came loose immediately. There are so many opponents now entering the second floor and almost all at once so we have a hard time knocking them down. Some are just lying down, while others are waiting for him. We are having a hard time because they don't seem to be diminishing. In fact, they are increasing.
Prince Arsh put me on his back and he bravely met with the sword the soldiers of Lacandia. They exchange swords non -stop but in the end, Prince Arsh always brings them down. The Prince is good at using a sword!
But he was also tired. His sweat is already stamped and there is a sign that he is really having a hard time.
More and more opponents are coming. I saw that Prince Arsh was struggling because he was the only one fighting. His other siblings were outside and so were they, tired as well.
That is why I did not hesitate to rearrange my arrow. I have to act. Nothing will happen if I just remain cowardly and not resist.
The important thing now, I can help. I will not let myself do anything while the enemies are attacking the palace.
I took a bullet and started shooting.
As I continued to use the arrow and I was also knocked down a lot, the fear I was feeling gradually disappeared. I never thought I could do it, that the Princes could be as good as I am. I have become more comfortable with the ability I have now. Maybe it's because I'm in the person of Princess Amity so I didn't have a hard time releasing from her body the abilities and fighting skills she was hiding. Finally, I can use it too!
I haven't gotten any scars yet but I'm already feeling tired because they're not really exhausted but they're really multiplying. We can't even determine where they come from. Do they die and come back to life? How deceitful they are to be opponents! The Kingdom of Lacandia is too unfair to play.
I was out of breath, so was Prince Arsh. But no matter how hard and tired we feel, we cannot give up. We will continue this until our last breath. We will pour our strength into this war.
But I became even more weak when I could no longer get the arrow bullet in the bag I was carrying. I was nervous because I thought I had run out of ammunition! Arrow is my only weapon in this battle. What am I going to do? What am I going to fight with them now?
But I did not make it obvious to the soldiers. I still pointed the arrow at them and slowly stepped back. I avoid meeting them because I have no fight now. But I wonder because they still don’t attack me.
I stopped backing away when I felt something hit me behind me. I was confused but it didn't take long either because the person I bumped into spoke. My apprehension disappeared. "It's me, Zariya."
Prince Arsh.
We turned our backs on each other as we were surrounded by so many soldiers. We didn’t lose attention to the opponents. Prince Arsh and I were in the middle of the circle formed by the soldiers because they surrounded us.
"I can't fight anymore. There are too many of them," he said weakly. "We can't consume them just the two of us."
"I also ran out of ammunition," I said.
We were still not removed from the focus of our weapons on the Lacandia soldiers and we pretended to be still strong enough to fight. Because when we show that we are weak, they rejoice even more and take opportunities to deprive us of life.
The two of us were still alert to the possibility of them starting at the same time. But a few minutes later they still didn’t take the step to attack the two of us Prince Arsh. They just stayed around us while pointing their swords and arrows.
What? Until we all just stare at it? Why do they seem to have no intention of hurting us?
"Why don't they still attack us, Prince Arsh?"
"Because they are waiting for a signal. It looks like they are still waiting for an order from their Dear Queen," he replied.
Prince Arsh was not mistaken. A tunnel suddenly appeared in front of us all. This is a very clear reason for both Prince Arsh and I to be blindfolded because of the pain that light brings.
The soldiers of Lacandia lined up when they recognized who had come out of the portal in front of us and they simultaneously bowed before that person to pay their respects to their Dear Queen.
My Queen Mother, Queen Emily.
Haya Kaira is behind it. Together the two of them exited the tunnel. At first glance, the two mothers would be mistaken. After all, their habits are not far apart.
Haya Kaira immediately smiled angrily when our eyes met. At any rate, she really wants to tease and quarrel with me.
“It looks like it’s the end of those two,” she began. She stepped closer to us. She stared into my eyes. "My treacherous daughter!" How is the betrayal of our Kingdom, Amity? If you just follow our plan you will not suffer it, my child," she pronounced the last two words emphatically.
I did not take my gaze away from her. I also struggled with the stares they were throwing at me.
"My child?" my repetition of the last two words she mentioned. I even laughed softly to be sarcastic in their sight. "Do you really consider me a child or am I just a follower of your requests? You just used me and never, ever, did you pretend to be my Mother!"
There was no emotion on her face after I said the words that spontaneously came out of my mouth. I no longer have control over the words I let go of. I don’t know where those came from.
Isn't Princess Amity really in my person now?
But even though she heard hurtful words from her own child, she was not affected. It's just nothing to her.
She doesn't really care about Princess Amity. Didn’t it even feel guilty? Even if it's just pity? They and King Hellion are the parents of Princess Amity so it is impossible for her not to have even the slightest bit of love as Mother.
Is her heart just that hard?
"If you're just going to disobey my wishes, I'd better just reject you. I don't need the daughter to harm me. I don't need you anymore, Amity!"
I can’t explain the pain I felt. I heard hurtful words from them. I never thought Queen Emily would be able to reject Princess Amity so easily. She didn’t seem to raise it and carried it for nine months in her womb.
Is this what is done to a person when anger and hatred have enveloped his heart? That very close person in your life you can let go of.
Desiring to gain greater power, she was able to forget and reject her only begotten daughter
"Why does it seem like nothing to you? Why is it so easy for you to let me go?" I no longer know where I get what I say. All I knew was, I was hurting. I am in pain for Princess Amity. “I am your child, Mother! This is me, Princess Amity, your only daughter and your family. ”
She averted her gaze.
"What else are you saying? I won't change my opinion of you now. I just used you to avenge King Valor for killing your Father! And now that I've used you, will I still come to you? I don't need a daughter, a traitor like you. How many times can I say I don't need you anymore, Amity. "
There seemed to be a blockage in my throat which made it difficult for me to speak. "Yes, I have betrayed you, Mother, because that is what I know is the right thing to do to correct your mistakes. I do not want to be involved because I will stand right and I especially do not want to offend the innocent people of the Kingdom of Norland. Isn't that enough? What did Father do to King Valor's family? Mother, Father ruined their happy family because of the anger and envy that prevails in your hearts! But even though you are so bad in my eyes, I still don't lose my love for yours." I stopped when I felt a helping tear on my cheek. "Mother, have you never loved me? Didn't you consider me a child even for one day during those nineteen years?"
When I asked that question, she could no longer look me in the eye.
"That's enough, Amity. Even if you turn the world upside down, the fact that you betrayed me will not change. Every time I see you, I remember your infidelity so I can't accept you again. You can only hinder my plans. It's worse. You'd better just die with Valor and his family."
My knees weakened so I was held in the hand of Prince Arsh. He supports me. He grabbed my back and my other hand so it kept me from falling.
"Z-Zariya," he said.
"I don't have time for you. I just want to see you before you leave this Kingdom. Soldiers, you know what you're going to do," said Queen Emily accompanied by her silly laugh, a laugh full of horror. "Goodbye, my treacherous daughter," she said to me.
She passed us and headed up the stairs to the third floor. While Haya Kaira confronts Prince Arsh. She touched the face of the Prince she once loved but Prince Arsh immediately rejected it and looked sharply at Haya Kaira, the Prince seemed disgusted with the young lady in front of him.
"This is the price of your humiliation of me, Prince Arsh. Repent now that I was not the one you chose."
The Prince did not silence her so she just followed Queen Emily. They were going up to the third floor and the soldiers surrounded us again. Prince Arsh still supports me.
I am still weak. I can't fight anymore and it looks like I can still feel Prince Arsh for my weakness. His attention went to me now.
"Arsh, the throne!" shouted Prince Ravi who had just climbed to the second floor. He held his bloody shoulder.
What Prince Ravi is referring to is the intention of Queen Emily and Haya Kaira on the third floor. They want to usurp the throne of King Valor.
"Ravi," he faintly mentioned his brother's name. His voice was full of concern.
"Help our youngest brother in protecting Father's throne. Lacandia cannot seize the thro--" Prince Ravi could not continue what he was about to say as he fell to the floor because of a soldier who hit a rock on the head. of the Prince.
I'm just closing my eyes. I can't stand what I'm witnessing now.
"Prince Ravi," I whispered in the name of the first Prince.
The soldiers came even closer to us and looked like they were ready to attack us in a few seconds.
I just held on firmly to Prince Arsh. I think we are at the end.
"Zariya, don't let go of my grip. We're both leaving here at the same time so just hold on."
I never asked again about what Prince Arsh wanted to define. I just followed what he said. I gripped his arm tightly. I have confidence in the Prince next to me. I calmly follow what he says.
He took his sword and swung it in the air. It happened so fast that by the time his sword returned to his hand, he had buried it on the floor. It brought light all around and this light followed every crack of cement that Lacandia’s soldiers were now stepping on.
Everyone lay lifeless.
In an instant, the opponents who are here on the second floor are exhausted. Such was the power of Prince Arsh's weapon. It can kill in an instant.
"Come on, Nesh needs help."
We quickly climbed to the third floor. We arrive at Queen Emily wielding power over Prince Nesh. I heard Prince Arsh swear when he saw the condition of his youngest brother.
Prince Nesh is currently blocking his Father’s throne. He was really determined to protect it. Even though it was weak, he still tried to stand in front of King Valor's big chair so that it would not be taken away.
"Aren't you really leaving there? Do you still really want to play with 'kin? All right, I'll give it to you," Queen Emily said angrily.
Queen Emily mercilessly pointed her hand at Prince Nesh and there came out the energy that gave electricity to the entire body of the Prince.
The youngest Son of King Valor has no opponent.
He struggles with the pain he is getting. He didn't care even if his whole body was turning black. He has no intention of leaving his Father's throne.
"Stop!" Prince Arsh could no longer hold back.
Queen Emily stopped electrifying Prince Nesh. It turned to us now. “Are you still alive? Maybe you want to suffer more and see Valor's whole family gradually being taken away.”
Prince Arsh did not utter it. His only attention was on his brother.
"Nesh, get out of there. Don't mind it anymore. Father wouldn't want your life to be in danger just for the throne," Prince Arsh pleaded.
I agree with what he said. I feel sorry for Prince Nesh. His body could no longer cope with the wounds and it might take a few minutes for them to fall apart.
"B-But Arsh, they will usurp Father's throne! We will lose our Kingdom forever. I won't let that happen."
"Trust me, Nesh. Follow me as your older brother."
Prince Nesh did not speak. He just looked back and forth between us and Queen Emily.
"Leave now as long as I can hold back," Queen Emily said seriously.
Prince Arsh approached Prince Nesh's whereabouts. He held out his palm to invite his brother to approach him. Prince Nesh slowly stepped to his feet.
I breathed a sigh of relief because finally, Prince Nesh listened.
His life was more important than the throne of his Father the King. Even if Lacandia takes over the whole of Norland, it's okay if its replacement is the salvation of the Princes.
Now I have never thought about my mission. What matters now is for Prince Nesh to be safe.
Prince Nesh was about to get close to his Big Brother when it suddenly stopped and my heart was beating so fast.
"Don't, please don't, Prince Nesh."
He turned his back on Prince Arsh and faced the Queen of Lacandia.
"I'm sorry but I won't let our home fall into bad hands."
Before Prince Nesh could start a fire, he was preceded by Queen Emily.
She did not hesitate to overthrow the feeble Prince.
"Nesh!" loud shout of Prince Arsh. He immediately went to his brother.
I covered my mouth and fell to the floor when I saw in front of me the prostrate body of Prince Nesh.
"N-Nesh?" Three other Princes, Prince Dern and Prince Cozen, approached without hesitation while leading the wounded Prince Ravi.
They surrounded the four of their confused youngest siblings.
"I'm sorry if I've always been clumsy. I'm sorry if I'm not as good as you. I'm sorry if I haven't been able to save our Kingdom. I-I'm sorry." Prince Nesh could hardly speak.
"That's not true, Nesh. After all, you're the bravest of the five of us." Prince Ravi is crying now.
The heartache to see them five in such a situation.
Though struggling, I forced myself to stand up and stand beside them. I have the ability to heal, don't I? I want to help Prince Nesh.
"Prince Nesh, just hold on. I'll heal you," I said while crying.
He just made me smile.
Prince Arsh looked up at me. "Your power to heal will not work, Zariya. It will lose its effect if the very cause of his wound comes from the power of someone higher than us. The wound that Nesh received came from a Queen."
"Maybe I'm just this far. Promise me you'll take Norland back, something I never did."
The four Princes nodded at their youngest brother's request.
"I will be happy to die because I know I will protect our Kingdom even with my last breath."
And at that time, a Prince left.
