Chapter 36 Trouble Strikes

Chapter 36 Trouble Strikes

After finishing lunch, Antonio dropped Rose off at Herina’s company before speeding toward the casino. He had just received a report that Lorenzo’s men had caused a disturbance there, leaving destruction in their wake.
When Antonio arrived at the casino, the scene was in complete disarray. Two of his subordinates quickly approached him.
“How did this happen?!”
Antonio’s sharp voice roared through the room. Despite his explicit instructions for heightened security and rigorous monitoring of entries and exits, this chaos still occurred. Thankfully, none of the casino’s patrons had been injured.
“Boss, we managed to catch one of them. The rest got away,” one guard reported, his face stern and serious.
“Where is he?”
“In the back, sir.”
“Take me there!” Antonio barked, following the guard, with two others trailing behind him.
Grinding his teeth, Antonio cursed under his breath, furious that Lorenzo had dared to strike so brazenly.
In a small room behind the casino, a middle-aged man sat trembling with fear. At Antonio’s signal, his men hauled the man to his feet. Antonio stepped forward, his icy gaze filled with fury.
“Who sent you?!” Antonio demanded, his voice cutting through the air. Though he already suspected Lorenzo, he needed confirmation.
The man shook his head in denial.
Antonio cursed in frustration. Without hesitation, he pulled his gun from his waistband and pointed it at the man’s head.
“This is your last chance. Speak if you want to live,” Antonio warned, his bitter tone chilling even his guards, who stood rigid nearby.
“I... I don’t know...”
The answer only deepened Antonio’s anger. His finger hovered over the trigger as the man stammered, terrified of what might come next.
“Wait! I’ll talk! I’ll talk!” the man blurted, his voice trembling as he pleaded for his life.
“Good! Then start talking!” Antonio commanded, the gun unwavering in his hand.
“I... I was hired, but I don’t know who it was. They told me to come here with three others...” The man’s voice faltered as he looked up at Antonio, only to quickly avert his gaze.
“Keep going,” Antonio urged, raising an eyebrow as if daring him to stop.
“I... I swear I don’t know who hired me,” the man stammered, his voice shaking.
Antonio studied the man for a moment, his piercing gaze unmoving. Finally, he lowered his gun and turned to his guards.
“Tell the team to get this casino back in order immediately,” he ordered.
“Yes, sir,” the guards replied before leaving the room.
Antonio turned his attention back to the trembling man. A bitter smile played on his lips as he gestured for his remaining guards to step away.
“You have five seconds to tell me the truth. If you don’t, you’re dead,” Antonio said, raising his gun once more.
The man’s terror deepened, his body shaking uncontrollably.
Bang! Antonio fired a warning shot near the man’s feet.
“That was a warning. The next one...”
“Okay! I’ll talk! Don’t shoot!” The man cried out, his voice cracking under the pressure.
“Then speak!”
“I overheard them calling their boss ‘Riva.’ That’s all I know,” the man confessed, his voice trembling as he braced himself for what might come next.
Antonio clenched his jaw. He was right—this was Lorenzo’s doing. Letting this slide was not an option.
Slowly, Antonio lowered his gun as the man let out a shaky sigh of relief.
“Does this mean I can go?” the man asked hesitantly.
Antonio smirked, his expression cold and calculating. Letting someone who has caused so much damage walk free? That wasn’t his way. Before he could respond, a guard burst into the room, his face pale with urgency.
“Boss, there’s been an incident,” the guard announced.
Antonio turned to him, his eyes narrowing.
“What is it?”
Riva’s men ambushed “The driver escorting your model. It caused a crash on the side of the road,” the guard reported.
Antonio’s face darkened as he stepped closer to the guard.
“What did you say?!”
“A report just came in, sir. Rossi is currently at the hospital with her,” the guard added, his voice quivering under Antonio’s glare.
Without hesitation, Antonio pulled out his phone and dialed Rossi, but the call went unanswered. His frustration and worry deepened.
“Damn it!” Antonio cursed, his fists clenched tightly. Anxiety gnawed at him as he thought of Rose.
“Sir, the report states she is safe,” the guard added hastily, hoping to calm Antonio’s obvious rage. Hearing the word “safe” allowed Antonio to breathe a fraction easier, but the relief was fleeting—he wouldn’t believe it until he saw her himself.
“You two!” Antonio barked at his remaining guards. “Keep a close watch on him. If he escapes, I’ll make sure the bullets find your heads!” His tone left no room for negotiation.
With that, Antonio stormed out of the room, his urgency almost tangible. Meanwhile, the middle-aged man, now left alone in the room, showed no signs of relief. He knew that Antonio’s wrath was far from over, and his chances of walking away alive were slim.
The two guards exchanged wary glances before locking the door securely and taking their positions outside, ready to follow Antonio’s exact orders.
Antonio climbed into his car and sped toward the hospital. Rose consumed his thoughts—her safety was all that mattered now. The fact that Lorenzo’s men had specifically targeted her car, knowing he wasn’t inside, left him seething.
Damn it! This was no accident. It was deliberate, calculated.
