Theo maid Mrs Claire came faster than the day Layla thought she was going to arrive. ever since she came back to the house, Layla motivation to go back to school have become way stronger than before. she felt like Mrs Claire eyes were always on her, watching her like a hawk. she felt a prey while Mrs Claire was her predator.
Mrs Claire was a nice lady in her 60s. she had a soothing voice and a nice way of talking. but Layla couldn't help but notice that Mrs Claire eyes was always on her. mostly when she was with Theo. Mrs Claire always did one thing or the other to either get herself involved or invade their conversation.
ever since Mrs Claire came Layla couldn't sneak into Theo room at night anymore. she tried one night, it was 2:15pm, Mrs Claire was awake, she had question Layla why she still awake and where she was going to at such a late hour. Layla pretended like she was tasty and wanted to get some water from the kitchen.
Mrs Claire eyes had watch her all through. Layla didn't know if it was because it was night time or because she was starting to think the maid was evil. but she could swear she had saw a small smirk on Mrs Claire lip. like she knew exactly where Layla was going to.
Layla had concluded that it was either Mrs Claire was overly protective of Theo or she was just a crazy nosy old hag that didn't trust her.

Layla never thought that she would be walking this hallway again. Theo had drove her to school he was with her moment ago until class started. he went to class while she went to see her homeroom teacher, Theo was her only consolation, among this crowded student who kept giving her strange looks as if she was the killer herself and not her Dad.
just few more hours to go, then this whole day will be over. Layla kept on encouraging herself to just hold on for just few more hours, then she can leave this hellhole with Theo.
her next year which was her last year in highschool wouldn't be at this same place where everyone knew about her terrible past. Theo had manage to convince his parents to help move her to another school, now all Layla needed to do was to hold on. it already almost time for their exams to start, she had a lot to study because was way behind.
Layla just came out from her english class. Rose attended that same class with her but all through the lecture, Rose ignore her. no one approach Layla but she could still hear all the whisper they were whispering about her.
"her Dad is a murderer, don't get fool by her innocent look she can kill you too."
"I'm sure that she was the one responsible for Liam Death."
"it's a good thing Rose don't hang out with her anymore, I heard she now hate her."
"I saw her this morning with Theodore, why is he still with her?"
"I can't believe he's with someone who is responsible for the death of his best friend."
Layla felt like putting her head into her locker in hopes that it could make all their whisper go away.
"hey," Theo said softly. "baby, it's all right."
Layla was unconsciously pressing her head hard against her locker in fustration. the moment Theo wrap his arm around her she realizes that she was hurting herself.
the crowd, the people, the pity look she got from her teachers, the judging gaze of some students, including those that were once close to her. Layla hated it all.
"let's get out of here." Theo said, he rush over to her immediately after his classes were over. he could hardly concentrate today because he felt worried about her.
"so how was your first day in school after a long time." he asked even though he already knew the answer, she was probably going to tell him it was bad because it really was. he heard all the horrible things people was saying about her. she was the only topic for the day, some of his mate ask him why he was still with her. Theo felt bad for convincing her to come back to this place, if she was going to tell him that she wanted to skip a year and start over at another school he wasn't going to complain.
"my day was." Layla stop, her gaze went over to a girl she had once knew for a long time. someone she thought that would be friends forever but their friendship ended faster than anyone thought it would.
"what's wrong?" Theo ask. his eyes move to the girl Layla was staring at. Rose, she was with Jackson Theo had forgot to tell Layla that Rose was now dating Jackson he didn't thought it was important, since Rose wasn't a part of Layla life anymore.
Rose caught their gaze from across the pack but ignore them and pretended like their eyes didn't meet.
"nothing is wrong." Layla open the door to the car and got in.
Theo follow her, he wanted to ask her if she was okay but he didn't know if that was the right thing to say.
"my day," Layla started with a sad smile on her face. "honestly it was bad but that was to be expected." her eyes went over to Theo who was already looking at her. she could see that he was blaming himself and he felt guilty. the palm of her hands trace the lines of his sharp cheek bones. these days he wasn't wearing glasses anymore. he was using contact lens now. Layla could feel some of his rough stubble beards. he spent so much time taking care of her that he hardly took care of himself. as her hands trace Theo handsome features she realizes how fast the boy she had always know was maturing into a man. this was his last year in highschool and he was risking so much for her. "don't worry I'm not going to give up, no matter how bad my day goes, I always have you here with me to make it better." she smiles sweetly at him and kiss him. each day she was falling more and more for Theo, it was dangerously fast but she wasn't afraid because she trusts him.
