Chapter 51

POV Taehyung
Taehyung's blood boiled. His entire body felt like it was on fire with overwhelming rage. He stood up abruptly, nearly knocking over the chair he had been sitting on.
"Black Fox…" Taehyung's voice trembled, his eyes burning with vengeance. "I will find him. I will kill him!"
He strode towards the door, his resolve unwavering. He wouldn’t let this go unpunished.
But suddenly, a hand grabbed his arm.
"Taehyung, don’t!" Emylia’s voice was filled with fear.
Taehyung turned around, his eyes still burning with fury, but the look on Emylia’s face made his chest tighten painfully.
Her face was soaked with tears, her lips quivering, and the hands gripping his arm were visibly trembling.
"Emylia, let go."
"No! I won’t let you go after him!" Emylia’s voice grew louder, more desperate.
Taehyung tried to pull away, but Emylia held on even tighter. "I won’t let you die because of me again! If you go now, you won’t come back alive!"
Emylia tried to crawl toward him, but in the chaos, she tripped over her own feet and—
BAM!
Her body fell backward, her shoulder hitting the dining table hard. The plates and glass cups on the table wobbled before crashing onto the floor, shattering into pieces.
"Emylia!"
Taehyung rushed forward, catching her before she could fall further, but she was already sitting on the floor, trembling, her hands fumbling for support.
She was blind… She couldn’t see anything around her…
Taehyung froze.
His hands, which had been pushing her away moments ago, now tightened around her shoulders.
"Emylia…" Taehyung’s voice softened.
Emylia clutched onto his shirt tightly, sobbing uncontrollably. "I have no one else, Taehyung… You’re the only one I have… Please, don’t leave me…"
Taehyung swallowed hard.
Emylia’s fingers blindly reached for his face, searching for his eyes, before falling onto his chest, gripping his shirt as if she was afraid he would disappear.
"I can’t see anything anymore, Taehyung… Do you think I can live like this without you?"
Taehyung closed his eyes.
Guilt pierced through his heart like a sharp dagger.
His hatred for Black Fox still burned fiercely, but seeing Emylia like this…
He couldn’t leave her.
Finally, Taehyung took a deep breath before pulling Emylia into his arms.
"I won’t leave you."
His embrace tightened, as if letting go would shatter her into pieces.
Emylia clung to his shirt even more, crying into his chest.
"Thank you…"
Taehyung closed his eyes, unaware that his own tears were falling.
Maybe he had lost Jihoon.
Maybe he had lost his family.
Maybe he had lost everything.
But tonight… He had Emylia.
---
Later That Night
Taehyung sighed deeply, watching Emylia sleep on the bed with exhaustion written all over her face. After what happened earlier, he had to carry her to her room and make sure she got some rest.
He sat at the edge of the bed, his fingers brushing away a stray strand of hair from her cheek.
"Fool… Do you really have no one else besides me?"
His voice was barely a whisper. He still hadn’t fully processed everything. How did Emylia end up like this? What exactly happened to her?
His hand instinctively tightened around Emylia’s cold fingers.
She was blind.
And she had lost something far greater than just her sight.
Taehyung noticed a faint movement from Emylia’s lips, as if she was trying to say something in her sleep.
"Taehyung…"
Taehyung stiffened.
Was she dreaming? Or talking in her sleep?
His fingers squeezed her hand tighter. Why am I still here?
He was supposed to be hunting down Black Fox, avenging Jihoon. But instead, he was here, taking care of Emylia like he used to—before everything fell apart.
A heavy sigh escaped his lips.
Slowly, Taehyung lay down beside Emylia, his arm unconsciously wrapping around her protectively.
"I won’t leave you…"
It was a promise he wasn’t sure he could keep.
---
The Next Day
Taehyung sat in the living room with Ray and Haesong. The tension was thick, each of them silent as they waited for Emylia to speak. She sat across from them, her fingers wrapped around a cup of tea that had long gone cold.
"I’ve made my decision," Emylia finally broke the silence. "I don’t want to be involved in this dark world anymore. I’ll leave everything to you guys."
Ray and Haesong exchanged glances before looking at Taehyung.
"I know I’ve made a lot of mistakes," Emylia continued, her voice heavy with guilt. "I just want to get out of all this… I don’t want to be haunted anymore."
Haesong let out a slow sigh. "You realize what you’re asking for isn’t a small thing, Emylia?"
"I know…" Emylia bit her lip. "But I don’t have a choice anymore. I’ve lost too much."
Taehyung studied her quietly. He could see the exhaustion on her face, and he knew her decision wasn’t made on impulse.
"Are you sure you want to leave all this behind?" Ray asked, still doubtful.
Emylia nodded slowly. "I trust you guys to handle everything."
Another silence stretched between them before Haesong finally spoke. "If that’s your decision, we’ll discuss how to proceed."
After nearly an hour of discussion, the three of them reached an agreement—Emylia would hand over all her business dealings to Taehyung, Ray, and Haesong.
"From now on, you don’t have to worry about anything related to this world," Taehyung said firmly. "Just focus on your life."
Emylia gave a small, bittersweet smile. "Thank you…"
Taehyung didn’t respond. He only looked at her with unreadable emotions.
Whether this was the best decision or not, only time would tell.

After That Day
Everything changed.
Taehyung and Emylia started living together in the house that once belonged to Jihoon. Though awkward at first, they slowly learned to adjust to their new lives.
The early days weren’t easy. Emylia still struggled to accept that she was now completely blind. She often stumbled around the house, tripping over her own feet, bumping into furniture, or dropping things. But every single time, Taehyung was there to help her.
That morning, Emylia woke up earlier than usual. She fumbled around the bed, searching for her phone. But before she could get up, a gentle hand pulled her back.
"Emylia, where are you going?" Taehyung’s voice was husky from sleep.
Emylia sighed softly. "I want to go to the kitchen. I need coffee."
Taehyung pulled her back onto the bed. "Do you want to fall again?" He sighed. "Stay here. I’ll make it for you."
Emylia chuckled softly. She knew Taehyung wasn’t the type to express his care with words, but his actions spoke louder than anything.
A few moments later, Taehyung returned with a cup of coffee. He placed it in her hands, guiding her fingers to make sure she wouldn’t spill it.
"From now on, if you need anything, just call me." His voice was firm yet gentle.
Emylia laughed lightly. "Taehyung, I’m blind. Not completely helpless."
Taehyung didn’t respond. He just stared at her for a long time before gently brushing a hand over her hair. "I just don’t want you to struggle."
Taehyung didn’t respond. He simply gazed at Emylia’s face for a long time before gently brushing his fingers through her hair. "I don’t want you to struggle."
In the following days, Taehyung truly became Emylia’s caretaker. He cooked for both of them, ensured she didn’t get hurt, and even helped her move around the house. Sometimes, he would hold her hand as they walked from one room to another.
"I feel like a child," Emylia grumbled one day as Taehyung helped her find clothes in the wardrobe.
Taehyung chuckled softly. "Better to feel like a child than to end up wearing your clothes inside out."
Emylia pouted but, deep down, she was grateful. Ever since living with Taehyung, she had felt safer and more at ease.
One night, Emylia heard a sound coming from the kitchen. She tried to feel her way toward it, but before she could reach, Taehyung got to her first.
"Where do you think you’re going at this hour?" His voice was groggy but still sharp.
"I heard a noise in the kitchen."
Taehyung sighed before guiding Emylia to sit on the sofa. "That was me. I was just getting some water."
Emylia remained silent for a moment before letting out a small smile. "I’m still not used to living in the dark."
Taehyung sat beside her, looking at her intently before speaking. "You’ll get used to it. You’re strong, Emylia."
Emylia let out a small laugh, but there was sincerity in her tone. "I’m strong because you’re here."
That night, Taehyung didn’t say anything more. He simply sat beside her, letting the silence of the night envelop them.
Even though their future was uncertain, one thing was clear—they had each other.
•••
That night, the wind blew gently outside the house. Inside, the atmosphere was quiet, illuminated only by the dim light of a table lamp. Emylia sat on the sofa, her fingers slowly tracing the intricate carvings on the wooden armrest. She couldn’t see, but she tried to feel the world around her in other ways.
Taehyung sat across from her, silent for a long time, simply watching her. His emotions were conflicted—a mix of affection, responsibility, and something deeper that he himself struggled to define.
"Taehyung?" Emylia spoke softly. "Why are you so quiet?"
Taehyung let out a slow breath before getting up and walking towards her. He sat beside her, gently holding her hand.
"I have something to say," his voice was calm but carried a hidden weight.
Emylia was slightly taken aback by his actions. Her heart pounded. "What is it?"
Taehyung tightened his grip on her hand. "Marry me."
For a moment, the world seemed to stop.
Emylia froze. She wasn’t sure if she had misheard or if she had truly heard what Taehyung had just said.
"Taehyung… what do you mean?" Her voice trembled slightly.
Taehyung took a deep breath before lifting her hand, letting her fingers touch his face. "I know you can’t see me right now… but I want you to feel what I mean."
Emylia’s fingers slowly traced his face—from his forehead, down to his cheeks, his nose, and finally, his lips. She could feel his warm breath, as if he himself was nervous.
"I want to take care of you," Taehyung continued. "I want to be with you every day, every night. I can’t imagine my life without you, Emylia."
Tears began to stream down Emylia’s cheeks. "Why… why would you do all this for me?"
"Because I love you," Taehyung answered honestly. "Not out of sympathy, not because I feel responsible, but because I truly want you to be a part of my life."
Emylia covered her mouth. She had never expected that after everything they had been through, Taehyung would still choose her.
"I… I have nothing left, Taehyung. I’m blind. I’m not the same Emylia anymore," her voice was filled with sorrow.
Taehyung gave a small smile before gently lifting her chin. "And I still want you. With or without your sight, you’re still the Emylia I know."
Emylia’s tears fell even harder. She clutched his hand tightly, as if afraid he would disappear from her grasp. "Thank you… for always being here for me."
Taehyung pulled Emylia into his embrace, letting her cry against his chest. He gently stroked her hair, allowing her to release all the emotions she had been holding in.
Finally, through her lingering sobs, Emylia slowly nodded.
"I agree…" her voice was barely a whisper. "I’ll marry you, Kim Taehyung."
Taehyung smiled silently. He had never felt happiness like this before.
That night, they simply sat in silence, savoring the warmth of each other’s presence.
There was no promise sweeter than the promise to stay together—until the very end.
•••
A month later, Taehyung received a report from Ray that Mirae had been taken to Korea by Jimin. Ray also informed him that Jimin planned to sell Mirae to a nightclub.
Taehyung, who had just finished discussing with Haesong and Ray, immediately stood up, his expression tense. "Where was their last known location?" he asked urgently.
Ray handed him a file. "They were last seen in the Gangnam area. I’ve already sent people to investigate, but we need to act fast before Mirae is sold."
Without hesitation, Taehyung grabbed his jacket and prepared to leave. His heart pounded, his fists clenched. He couldn’t lose Mirae—not after everything that had happened.
"Ray, call our trusted men. I’m personally getting Mirae out of there," he said firmly.
Emylia, who overheard the conversation, grabbed Taehyung’s arm anxiously. "Taehyung, be careful. Don’t do anything reckless."
Taehyung turned to Emylia. His gaze softened for a moment, but only for a second before he became serious again. "I promise, I’ll bring Mirae back."
With determination burning in his chest, Taehyung, along with Ray and a group of his men, headed to Jimin’s location. He knew this time—he couldn’t afford to fail.
