Chapter 45

Suzy cried uncontrollably after finding out that her blind date was already married. "Damn it! Next time, I’m not going on another blind date if this is how it’s going to end!" She furiously kicked the rooftop railings, almost knocking them down. She was one step away from lying on the floor and throwing a tantrum like a child.
The three of them couldn’t stop laughing at what happened.
"We already warned you, but you didn’t listen. Out of all the men out there, you ended up with a married one! My goodness! Did it hurts when you slapped him?" one of them asked.
"Of course, it hurts! But I had no idea that jerk was already married!" Suzy exclaimed in frustration.
"Let that be a lesson for you. Next time, don’t go on blind dates. The right person will come into your life eventually," Pamela advised.
"Yeah, yeah, I won’t do it again. I hope that damn guy gets what he deserves! How could he go on a blind date when he’s already married?" she spat out angrily.
"That’s how it is. You’ll always encounter liars, especially on dating apps. There are so many dishonest people now, so be careful next time," Kendra added.
"You know what? Why don’t you help us set up the new room for the peer counseling club? It’ll distract you and stop you from crying so much," she suggested.
"Yeah, and if troublemaker Claire starts acting up, you can pull her hair and vent your anger on her," Pamela teased with a grin.
"You’re crazy! Maybe if she starts the fight, but if not, just let it go," Suzy replied.
"I’m just kidding!" Pamela quickly added.
"But seriously, if that girl causes trouble, I’ll really rip her hair out," Suzy muttered, still fuming.
"Come on, let’s go," one of them said.
When they arrived, Amaury, Claire, Claude, and some other members were already busy fixing up the room—except for Claire, who was just sitting around.
They walked in, and the other members greeted them. "The vice president of this club really looks beautiful in the morning," Claude’s friend commented. Suzy responded with a sweet smile, feeling a bit embarrassed by the compliment.
"Our friend’s not just beautiful. She’s smart, kind, sexy, and absolutely stunning!" Pamela chimed in.
"And not even high-maintenance," Kendra added.
Suzy gestured for them to stop, noticing how irritated Claire was getting.
They started fixing the curtains, sliding the curtain rods through the ends to hang them. Suzy handed them to Claude. "Okay, Claude, I’ll help you from the other side," she offered.
"No, don’t. You might fall. I’ll do it and just get my friend to help," he refused.
"It’s fine. I won’t fall," she insisted, climbing onto the chair. But she didn’t notice that the chair wasn’t balanced properly. It wobbled and tipped over, causing her to fall. "Ouch!" She landed hard on the floor.
"Deanna! I told you not to climb up there!" Claude exclaimed, rushing over to her.
Amaury reached her first, helping her up and guiding her to sit on a chair. "Where does it hurt?" he asked. Wow, he actually helped me. Maybe he’s just making up for not helping when I almost drowned.
She pointed to her foot. "Here, this part." He took off her shoe and gently massaged her foot. He’s even giving me a little massage. I wish he was always like this, but I’m still mad at him. He’s probably just trying to make up for what happened the other day.
"Amaury, that’s enough. I’m fine now. Thanks," she said, and he let go of her foot.
Claude came over. "Can you walk? Do you want me to take you home?" he offered.
Claire, burning with jealousy, glared at them while watching the two brothers help Deanna.
"No, Claude. I think I can still walk," Deanna replied.
"Alright, try walking so I can see if you’re really okay," he insisted.
She stood up and walked slowly. She limped, but it wasn’t too bad. She didn’t need to go back to the mansion just yet.
"Are you sure you don’t want to go home? You can’t even walk properly," Claude said, clearly worried.
"Don’t worry, Claude. We’ll take care of her," Suzy interrupted.
"Yeah, we’ve got this," Pamela agreed.
"Really, Claude. I’ll be fine," Deanna reassured him.
"Okay, just sit here and rest. Don’t help us anymore—we’ll finish setting up the room. You three, keep an eye on her," Claude instructed his friends.
"Of course, that’s what friends are for," Kendra said.
I’m so lucky to have such good friends. My foot really hurts, but I’d be too embarrassed to go home to the mansion now. They might say I’m being too dramatic.
Claire’s intense glare never left Deanna. It was obvious she was furious. She walked over and sat beside Deanna. "Did you enjoy the little show you just put on?" she snapped. What show? Does she seriously think I staged that fall just to get attention? She’s not just lazy, she’s got a horrible attitude.
"A show? You really think that was a show? Why, do you think I wanted to fall and have your childhood friends help me?" Deanna retorted, raising an eyebrow.
"I didn’t say that, but I bet you did. You love having all the attention on you, don’t you?"
Deanna winced at her words. "You really have a filthy mouth. If that’s what you think, then go ahead. But I never wanted to be the center of attention. I guess I’m just lucky people notice me even when I don’t try."
Claire glared at her furiously.
"Don’t cause a scene here. Control yourself. It won’t look good if people start watching you because of your bad attitude," Deanna added, seeing how Claire was about to explode.
Claire scoffed, stood up, and stormed out of the room. Everyone inside exchanged looks.
"Well, thank goodness she left. Her bad vibes were ruining the atmosphere in here. Maybe she’s the reason the VP fell—her jealousy is intense," one student remarked.
"Totally! And she wasn’t even helping, just sitting there watching," another one agreed.
"You said it. Deanna, are you okay?" someone asked her. She nodded in response.
"I wish that fall had happened to Claire instead," someone muttered.
"That would never happen to her—she’s too busy just ogling the guys," another student chimed in, making everyone burst out laughing.
