CHAPTER 17 ♡

Hera's First Month of Pregnancy
Hera sat on the edge of the bed, taking a deep breath as she looked out the window. That morning, her nausea returned, making her feel uncomfortable. The aroma of coffee brewed by Max in the kitchen filled her nose, and she knew today would be a challenge.
Since receiving the news of her pregnancy, many things had changed. She felt exhausted every time she tried to carry out daily activities. Although Max always made an effort to keep her comfortable, Hera often felt powerless.
“Sweetie, are you okay?” Max asked, entering the room with a cup of coffee in hand.
“Not really. Maybe I just need a little time to rest,” Hera replied, trying to smile despite her churning stomach.
Days passed, and the nausea came and went. Whenever they gathered with family or friends, Hera tried to hold herself together to avoid looking weak. However, her mood swings often left her feeling anxious.
On one hand, she was very excited about welcoming their baby, but on the other, the physical discomfort and hormonal changes made her feel like she was on an emotional roller coaster.
As the first month came to a close, Hera noticed physical changes starting to appear. Her belly was slightly rounder, and she felt discomfort in her breasts. All of this made her feel more connected to the pregnancy that was just beginning.
The second month.....
Entering the second month, Hera felt a slight shift. The nausea that haunted her began to ease, and she felt a bit of energy return. “Maybe this is a sign that I’ll start feeling better,” she thought optimistically.
Hera started to return to her routine. She enjoyed evening walks in the park with Max, sharing stories and laughter. One afternoon, sitting on a park bench, she felt the warmth of the sun on her skin.
“Baby, we need to prepare a lot for our baby,” Max said, gently holding Hera's hand.
“Yes, I’ve started thinking about names for them,” Hera replied, a smile on her face.
Amid the happiness, there were moments when anxiety crept in. Hera often wondered what would happen when the baby arrived. She shared her worries with Max, who was always ready to listen.
“We’ll face this together. There’s nothing to worry about,” Max said reassuringly, calming Hera's heart.
Together, they began planning small things to welcome their baby. Hera started researching pregnancy and parenting, hoping to be a good mother.
One evening, while gathered with family, Hera's now-healthy mother offered her support. “You’re going to be an amazing mother, dear. I’m here to help you,” she said, hugging Hera warmly.
Every day, the love and hope between them grew stronger. Despite the challenges of this pregnancy journey, Hera knew that with Max and her family's support, they would be ready to face whatever came their way.
Hera's Cravings.....
During her pregnancy, Hera began to experience unexpected cravings. This started in the second month when she felt a strong desire for certain foods she hadn’t liked much before.
One afternoon, while watching television, Hera suddenly craved strawberry ice cream. She felt she couldn't resist and asked Max to get some. “I need strawberry ice cream right now!” she exclaimed excitedly.
Max smiled, happy to go to the store. “Okay, wait here. I’ll be right back,” he replied, hurrying out.
When Max returned with the ice cream, Hera’s face lit up with joy. “Thank you, sweetheart!” She immediately grabbed a spoon and savored each bite gratefully.
A few days later, Hera started craving spicy food. She found herself wanting fried rice with shrimp paste chili. “I want spicy fried rice!” she said enthusiastically.
Max looked at her, slightly confused, but quickly agreed. “Alright, we can make it ourselves at home. I’ll help!”
They prepared the meal together, and when the fried rice was ready, Hera felt satisfied. “This is perfect!” she said as she devoured the dish.
However, there were times when Hera craved very unusual things. One night, while relaxing, she found herself wanting a strange combination: potato chips dipped in melted chocolate.
“Max, I want potato chips dipped in chocolate,” she said excitedly.
Max couldn’t help but laugh. “Okay, it looks like we have to try it!”
He melted the chocolate and prepared the chips. After trying it, Hera was surprised. “This is really good!” she said, her eyes sparkling.
These cravings weren't just about food; every time Max fulfilled Hera's requests, it became a precious moment for them. Seeing the happiness on Hera’s face made Max feel more connected to this pregnancy journey.
Whenever Hera craved something, Max was always ready to help, taking her around to find the food she wanted, never complaining. All of this deepened their bond as a couple, making every moment together more valuable and filled with love.
As they entered the seventh month of pregnancy, Max and Hera felt an increasing excitement. The nursery for their child became the main focus, and both were determined to make it a special place.
Hera sat at the dining table with a notebook in hand, her pencil moving quickly as she jotted down ideas. “I imagine the walls in pastel colors, maybe light blue or soft yellow. And we have to add a cute mural!” she said, her face shining with enthusiasm.
Max, who had just returned from work, nodded in agreement. “How about we add pictures of animals? Maybe a lion, elephant, and deer?” He tried to visualize the atmosphere they would create.
“Yes! That’s a great idea!” Hera replied, her eyes sparkling. “We could spend hours decorating it.”
After planning the colors and theme, they decided to go shopping for baby supplies. On the way to the store, the atmosphere in the car felt cheerful. They talked about their hopes for the baby.
Upon arriving at the store, they stepped inside with excitement. “Look, that crib is so cute!” Hera exclaimed, pointing at a simple white crib that captured her heart.
Max smiled, “We have to buy it. This will be a cozy bed for the little one.”
After choosing the crib, they explored aisles filled with adorable items. Hera couldn’t resist picking up a few cheerful-patterned pillows and blankets, along with some colorful toys.
“Imagine when we read stories to them here,” Hera said, picturing the beautiful moments to come.
Max beamed, “I can’t wait to spend time with our little one. We’re going to be great parents!”
Once all the supplies arrived home, they began preparing the nursery. Max took a paintbrush and started painting the walls in the chosen pastel colors, while Hera arranged the items in the room.
Every touch on the walls, every item placed, became a testament to their love and hopes. They helped each other, laughing, and sharing stories about their future as parents.
After several hours of hard work, the nursery was finally ready. They stood at the door, looking at their hard work with pride.
“It’s perfect,” Hera said, taking a happy sigh. “I feel like the little one will be very comfortable here.”
Max embraced her from behind, feeling the warmth flowing between them. “This is the first step in welcoming our child. We’re ready to be parents.”
The nursery was not just a room; it was a symbol of their love and hopes for the future. This moment strengthened the bond between Max and Hera, bringing deep happiness as they anticipated the arrival of their baby.
