CHAPTER 66: Four People At The Midnight Restaurant Part 1/2
The three heard him and then took a glance at the place Travis was talking about. Even Emily had become clear-headed again yet dumbfounded upon seeing clearly their destination, so she vomited once more as she knew this had to be the restaurant where most famous and rich people go off to. "What the fuck?! A restaurant?!" Samantha as well was left too stunned. While still not in her clear state, she slipped into the pole beside the restaurant, holding it tightly while trying not to drop herself onto the ground. Kenneth, upon hearing Travis' word, had grown more suspicious about him. A restaurant that's so expensive, the money he gave him worth twenty million, the classroom, and that car. All of these threw a hint at Kenneth's mind that this teacher of theirs couldn't be a "teacher" only based on how he had spent his money, there could be other than that but Kenneth had no idea what was it. Inhaling and exhaling, he stood up and forced himself to stop fluttering. He then had planned in his mind that upon going home, or some other time, he would find out who Travis really was. Back to Samantha, she shook her head to lessen the lightheadedness she had felt and went to Travis. And to Emily too, she stopped throwing up and followed her friend, Samantha. "Hey! What are we doing here?" asked Samantha like some thug, "You want us to apply here for work or something?" "No, my dear Samantha. We will just be eating... like some normal family!" Travis glistened in their eyes as if he were an angel unexpectedly showing up from the sky, or a knight in shining armor, or some luminous diamond or something. They had simply felt overwhelmed with how his smile soothes them that easily. Travis had always smiled, they hadn't realized it sooner though there was a little space in their heart that they were thankful for it at least. They felt at ease. Walking toward them, Kenneth noticed his classmates' impulsive admiration of Travis. Although they tried hard not to show it, Kenneth could apparently see how they truly had felt since he was good at reading people's emotions. He could no longer bear the sight so he shook his head and sighed and went in first to the restaurant. Even though they were still outside the place, Emily's stomach had growled from hunger after smelling those freshly grilled crunchy meats that had just been served, "I-I guess we have no choice." She appeared like she was drooling. They stepped ahead and went into the fine dining restaurant. Travis tried to locate Kenneth since he was the first to go in, he was just easily spotted so they followed him and then sat at the table accordingly; Kenneth was at the very corner, near the wall, Travis sat beside him which his place was alongside the strip between the tables, Samantha and Emily sat next to each other; Samantha placed in front of Travis, and Emily at the facade of Kenneth. Upon observing the place, the ambiance and décor of the restaurant were indeed excellent. Even the place had a relaxed, casual vibe that may be an ideal location for nice dining to enjoy good food alongside a dazzling sunset. Not to mention, the atmosphere of the restaurant was unbeatable, it had given them the classical vibes along with the jazz classical music in the background. Since it was pretty early in the morning, it was still midnight yet, and the only customers in the restaurant had been only the four of them. The three became behave, pretty unusual for somebody who unwanted their teacher at first. They appeared like they had stones stuck in their throat that even one of them could barely speak a word. The vibe of the restaurant must be the reason why. Since it could be counted as their first time in this place, they had to show decent manners and be ample to the one who sent them in here. Not so long after sitting, one of the staff came after them with four card menus in his hand. He gave each one to them and politely asked for their orders. Preparing the pen and the paper in hand, the server then waited for their answers. "So what do you want?" Travis asked his students, "Don't worry, I have the whole restaurant reserved. And it's my treat.." It took them too long to decide but since Emily's stomach kept on growling as if calling out for food, Emily was then the first one to choose what would she order, "I'll have this... this... this... and this..." There were a lot of choices on the menu that she would love to order as well, especially the barbeque with the red sauce and the meaty beef steak, but since she wanted to keep her diet up just to avoid being called "fat ugly" like what her old schoolmates had been calling her before she brought assigned in Class 11-5, she had to limit the food she had to request. She ordered merely light meals such as omelet, ham and cheese pizza, onion rings, and buffalo chicken. She had also added one mango shake for her drinks. The staff was fast enough to locate the menu Emily had ordered, so he was able to take note of all the food she had requested. "Oh, me too," Samantha added, "This one... this... this... this... and this." As for Samantha, she ordered teriyaki chicken, ham with egg, beef broccoli, grilled chicken, and moist chocolate cake for the dessert. She also wanted to try the beef steak, which was her favorite as well, but she had no intention of seeing Emily's reaction. She knew she would be devastated knowing what she had been through in the past. So Samantha sacrificed herself and just thought that there would still be a second chance she could eat that beef steak. Before Emily was sent to the Class 11-5, she had expanded so many nicknames given by her schoolmates. Those names that had been made were to shame her appearance as if the cruel nicknames were meant to embarrass, make fun of, and abuse her. One of those nicknames of hers was "beef steak". It's her favorite food, in fact, she had a lot of favorites before and her schoolmates used the names of the food and meals she ate as her nicknames. "Right. How about you, Kenneth?" Travis questioned him since he noticed Kenneth was taking a long time staring at the menu, "What would you like to eat?" "Nothing," he answered with a resting face, "I just want to go—" After standing up, preparing to leave, Travis stopped him by saying, "Before you go home, make sure you stuff yourself first, hon."
