(Third person's POV-omniscient)
Kairo was in charge of interrogation of the viper as he stood leaning against the table. Before him the viper was sitting all tied up in a chair. 
Only two torches were igniting lights for which both of them were able to see each other's faces. But of course, Kairo's face was grim and cruel while viper's face had a lazy grin.
Despite of being tortured by Kairo, he didn't even say a single word.
"What? Are you tired of torturing me?" He asked, mockingly, "Maybe a new method? Like cutting off my hands because those are my precious assets of making poisons...?"
Kairo knew he was trying to provoke him but that wasn't going to work on Kairo... 
By one glance, Kairo knew this man wasn't easy to be tamed. He practically had no fear of losing his hands nor losing his life. He felt like he knew many valuable information which might come handy but the question was, how?
No matter what kind of a torturous method he used, he would scream but he would laugh at the end. 
The man asked, "What? Are you thinking why am I not spilling about my customers? Even though the 'Oh-Great-Prince of Wansai' has managed to capture me?" 
He grinned wickedly and said, "Not because I was paid well... I can tell you that."
Was it because he wanted a revenge against Wansai? But that was highly unlikely since over the past few decades there was no interaction between Toushi clan and Wansai. They had both to do with the clan and the clan had no reason to do any harm to Wansai...
Money?
But he was already rich by how many men worked under him... The whole Oda was under him even the Lord of Oda had no clue who he was. Not that he cared because viper was sitting on a chair where he was conducting his illegal trades through the city and paying a good amount to the Lord of Oda. 
No matter how many times Kairo run his head, he wasn't getting a clue. Four days of torture didn't break him. 
Viper was all torn up with a bloody face and broken ribs. His nose was crooked and his nails were ripped off yet he only laughed. 
That was insane...Kairo thought.
He was a crazy man but not crazier than Kairo. 
Kairo gave a gentle smile. "No... I would be torturing you more but it would be unfair if I simply cut off your precious hands... Well, not that I need your skills anyway..." He let out a sigh as the knife in his hand glinted, "Because we have more skillful people with us..."
Viper gave an amusing smile, "Oh? More skillful? I don't doubt that since Kuro soldiers built different and I believe Rian has taught them well..."
Now Kairo was a bit taken aback... Well, it wasn't really shocking to know that he knew their Prince had taught them all the things about poison and all but the shocking thing was he was calling him without the honorifics... Did he know him too well?
There was a knock on the door as it snapped Kairo away from his thoughts. A voice came from behind the door, saying, "Kairo, come out. There is something going on here..."
It was brother Hiroshi's voice and it felt a little hesitant. Kairo left the room and went with Hiroshi. As they were crossing the dungeon passageways, he asked, "What is it?"
"You will know when you look at...her." He said as they went toward another chamber.
Her?
As they entered, Kairo saw it was Hana... What was she doing here!?
"Hana?"
She turned around, tears coming out of her eyes as she said, "Kairo... I remembered him... I remembered his name..."
Kairo's heart clenched as Hana came running toward him. She buried herself in his chest as Kairo caught her in his arms. 
Kairo had always thought what if Hana recalled everything about her past life... When it was a good thing for her but Kairo didn't want that. 
If he told himself the truth he was scared. Scared to lose her. He thought if she remembered everything she would want to go away to the people whom she had been with...and it scared him.
At first, he thought he wouldn't be so stupid to fall in love. It was a stupid thing to fall for yet unknowingly he fell for her.
He asked, his breathing fastened, "Did you remember everything?"
She shook her head. "I didn't... Just a few fragments of it. But I remembered who he is..."
Kairo had been noticing that Hana had been restless since the moment they caught viper. She had been getting nightmares everyday and would hold Kairo tightly. 
Kairo said, collecting himself, "It's okay... Don't worry about anything okay?"
Hana nodded and asked, "But I have a favour to ask you..."
"What?"
"Can I go ask him questions?"
Kairo looked at Hana with wide eyes and Hiroshi was standing like a rock behind them. Not because Hana said something weird but because an act of romanticism was happening before his eyes and he was too shy...
Just too shy...
Kairo asked, "Why would you want to face him when you are this scared?"
"I want to face him because I want to know why I was in the cave? Why I don't recall anything else and who am I?"
And Kairo's fear came back. That was exactly he didn't want her to confront him. If he said her, she might go away...
What was this? Was he getting possessive over her? It was a feeling he could never decipher because he himself didn't know why he was reluctant to this idea. 
He said with a cold voice, "But you don't need to... You are...you are too scared and you may break before him..."
She shook her head vigorously and said, "No! I can't keep protected by you, Kairo... I need to face my fears too. I want to know who am I?"
"Is my wife not enough as your identity?" He asked as his voice became harsh and immediately he regretted asking that. Now he was just being selfish and he knew that. 
He looked away in guilt and said, "Fine... If that's what you want."
Hana was awestruck by his outcome as she froze. She didn't thought of it before...
Knowing her past meant there could be many things that would happen. She could be other's possession or maybe a killer. Her hands shook. She didn't thought it over about what would Kairo feel about this...
She forgot that now she had another person beside her and he could be effected by her past too.
If Kairo found out that she was a mass killer, would he still love her? Would he still care for her? Or maybe he would hate her...
Both of them got silenced as various thoughts accumulated in their minds, both of them were in a turmoil and had no words to say.
Hiroshi let out a frustrated growl and said, "Will you guys go get yourselves a room already?!"
And it made both of them come out of their thoughts. They finally realised how close they stood to each other. Hana's hands were clenched against Kairo's vest while Kairo's hands were wrapped around her waist. And both of them got flustered as they immediately stepped back from each other.
Hiroshi scratched the back of his neck and said, "Honestly, you two are making me empty now since Miku doesn't let me get close to her. Oh! My romance didn't even started yet!"
And their face became more red. They didn't need to know that!
Kairo hissed, his face still resembled like a tomato, "B—brother Hiroshi!"
Hiroshi gave them an annoyed look and asked, "Does it matter if any one of yours past come to the surface? Even if she remembers everything it happened a long time ago. This is the life you both chose so stick with it!"
They both blinked as realisation dawned upon them. 
How could they don't see it? It was as simple as that. Even if Hana had been a killer, she had changed or even if Hana had any past connections, it had long gone already.
The connections they had now were the ones whom they should be fighting for... It didn't matter if she recalled everything, Hana would still be Hana... 
And if Hana came out to be a killer, she swore to atone for those. But there was no chance she would ever leave Kairo! 
Nor Kairo would let her leave...
