Chapter 13 The Book
ASHLY'S POINT OF VIEW(Universe 13)
"Seina, where are you? Why aren’t you answering?" I was at a loss for how to contact my friend. I’ve been trying to reach her since yesterday, but she hasn’t responded.
Before heading to school, I stopped by her house, but there was no one there. Where could she be? Tita Evelyn was also missing.
"Hey Thea, have you seen Seina?" I asked one of our classmates who is also a friend of Seina. She just shook her head.
It’s not like Seina to be absent without any reason; her lack of response was making me worried. She usually calls me, not the other way around.
I’ll wait for her in the parking lot; maybe Kion will drop her off. That seems reasonable.
We were planning to go to a coffee shop for breakfast. "Where could you be?" I muttered to myself, feeling restless.
I looked around the parking lot. I remembered that Kion’s car was gray, but I couldn’t find the car I was looking for.
I checked my wristwatch and saw that there were only ten minutes left before the first class started. I had no choice but to return to the classroom. I tried calling Kion too, but he was ignoring my calls.
Is he doing this on purpose? What on earth is going on?

"Okay, as you know, every year, one student is sent to different schools to conduct an observation test, right?"
"Yes, ma'am," we all replied in unison.
"This year, it was decided that our section would have a representative. It was supposed to be Miss Seina Miyazaki, but she’s not here," our teacher said.
How unlucky can Seina be? Isn’t it her dream to be a representative for things like this? What a shame. Where could she be?
"So, I decided that Miss Ashly will take her place. Is that alright with you?"
I was stunned by what I heard—me?
I looked at my classmates, all of whom were staring at me. "Ashly, is that okay with you?" Miss Buenas asked again.
"O-yes, it’s fine with me," I answered, though it was more of a forced response.
Oh my gosh, I never wanted this! I found out that being a representative here wasn’t a good experience; most of them complained about being bullied but couldn’t provide evidence.
"Okay, it’s settled then," Miss Buenas said as she gathered her things. "Oh, by the way, you’ll be observing at St. Lauren."
St. Lauren? That’s Kion’s school!
I’ll be observing at Seina’s boyfriend’s school? I heard there’s a lot of bullying there, mostly by girls. I’m in trouble.
Before Miss Buenas could leave the classroom, she handed me a paper. It was a checklist of what I needed to observe, and it also mentioned that my visit was scheduled for tomorrow.
If I can’t reach Kion, I’ll talk to him directly. It’s a good thing I’ll be observing at St. Lauren.
"Only a half-day there, that’s a relief." I felt a bit better reading that I only needed to be there in the morning. By noon, I could go home.
I need to prepare for tomorrow; I can’t show up in a nerdy style at St. Lauren because they’ll definitely give me the cold shoulder.
Honestly, I’m not a nerd; I just don’t feel comfortable wearing short skirts. Besides, my glasses are anti-radiation, and I just don’t take them off often and wear them every day.
"Oh wait..." My eyes went to the bottom of the paper. I need to pick up the uniform for tomorrow from the main office.
I recalled the girls’ uniform at St. Lauren: a white blouse, necktie, and mini skirt. I remembered they also wore black high socks and black heels.
I wonder what I’ll look like?

EVELYN'S POINT OF VIEW
"Not here either..." I gently removed the stack of books from the storage room. I recalled that the book should be in a large box, but where could it be? I had already rummaged through almost all the boxes...
But wait... it might be with Seina’s things. I remember I cleaned up and accidentally mixed up the books.
I didn’t waste any more time and quickly made my way upstairs to my daughter’s room. I was sure I placed the book there; I couldn’t be wrong.
Since Seina left for Universe 97, I’ve felt like something is wrong. I can’t shake the feeling that there’s something I didn’t tell Seina; at first, I thought it was nothing...
When I arrived in the room, I immediately spotted the box, and I was right. I found a green book inside.
"Celestial Goddess..." I said softly, opening the book to the first page. "I was right... this is what Seina told me when I visited their universe..."
Why am I only remembering this now? Why now that Seina isn’t here? I hope her mission in Universe 97 is progressing well.
"They need to know about the three seals," I told myself. But it’s impossible for me to contact Seina; I have no way of traveling to another universe.
During my time in Universe 97, Seina gave me a book. She instructed me to either keep it safe or destroy it, but I chose to keep it.
I didn’t really believe in powers; I didn’t know abilities existed in other universes until I read the book and understood everything. The book wasn’t just fictional; it contained the full truth about secrets that remain hidden to this day.
How did I know? Because the author of this book is another version of me, Evelyn from Universe 99, a universe that was destroyed years ago.
The book details the powers of the three seals... and what is destined to happen in the future. And honestly? I’m not ready to read the last part of the book because I’m not prepared to know what will happen to Seina and the others.
You’re right; everything is destined to happen—the arrival of Kion in Universe 13, my daughter’s help to Seina from another universe—everything was known by Evelyn from Universe 99 because she was once a prophecy teller.
