[CHAPTER 6.2: THE HUMAN AND THE PANTHER]
The poison from a Moro's blade had caused his right arm to starting to numb.
"What an arrogant beast you are, Gaharu. How dare you come here alone and challenge the Moro?! Do you have a death wish?"
Tayen, the cold-skinned beastmen, raised his spear wanting to give Gaharu the final blow. But Gaharu suddenly leaped above him and shot a huge fireball at him. Tayen failed to react in time and he was burnt by the raging flames. Even the armor he was wearing could not protect him entirely from Gaharu's flame. His left arm, his left shoulder, and his torso was burnt. Half of his face was burnt as well. But he will be fine, his skin will surely recover from that. After all, he's a snake.
"Curse..."
"Did you think I was that idiot, Tayen? To come here alone without any backup?" Gaharu snarled. In fact, the idiot one was Tayen. He was out here alone without his general by his side.
A rain of flame arrows flew in from all directions, burning the army camps made of snake skins together with the dead armies on the ground.
The ground started to shake and countless of Ra army troops came galloping towards the scene.
"I will annihilate your whole snake clan!" Gaharu raised his left hand, signaling his men to attack. Tayen was stupid enough to leave his territory. If Tayen were to be killed today, it would be an easier task to kill all the other snakes. The Moro tribe were strong only because of their venomous chief leader and their powerful general.
"If you think you can kill me that easily, then you are the idiot one." Tayen's mouth parted open and he spat out venom from his fangs. Several beastmen who were at the front and second rows immediately wailed in agony. The venom he spewed was like a deadly acid rain attack, instantly melted their skin and flesh.
"Rawr...!!" Sora leaped over the crowd and dashed towards Tayen. The sword on his grip flashed as he swung his weapon.
Tayen eluded Sora's attack and successfully landed a hard kick on Sora's chest before spitting his venom at Sora.
"Sora, watch out!" Gaharu jumped in front of Sora, blocking the venom using his crooked sword. A few drops of venom splashed onto Gaharu's chest and shoulders and small parts of his armor melted. Blood could be seen staining the rest of his tiger skin clothes. Gaharu flicked his long tail and knocked Sora out of the way before swinging his sword at Tayen but Tayen was quick enough to parry the first attack but Gaharu's movement was faster. Gaharu waved his sword for the second time and managed to wound Tayen but Tayen was fast enough to back away so the attack didn't hit Tayen deep enough to kill him. Tayen then threw his spear towards Gaharu and had successfully stabbed him in his abdomen. The spear pierced through Gaharu's body and he vomited blood.
"Lord Gaharu!!"
Sora and all the other beastmen panicking after seeing Gaharu fell hard on the ground with the spear still stuck in his abdomen. Tayen immediately took the initiative to flee.
"Chase after him! Do not let him escape!"
Sora ordered and his troops chased after Tayen.
"The rest of you, carry the wounded back to the camp!"
"Yes, general!"
Sora took off Gaharu's armor and tore his upper clothes to avoid Tayen's venom spreading deeper into the flesh. Gaharu was unconscious, he was already wounded and poisoned, and he was losing blood. The troops immediately rushed Gaharu back to their nearest camp.
The leopard pursed his lips tight as he grunted anxiously. His lord was one of the strongest warrior ever. He was known to have the strength of ten beasts. Lord Gaharu would not get wounded this easily if he didn't insist on going alone to attack the Moro. He was a powerful warrior, but can be quite reckless sometime. Although that recklessness of his was what made Ra today. Yes, Lord Gaharu possessed the strength of ten beasts, he also had the ability to produce fire out of thin air. However, there is a limit to one's stamina. Lord Gaharu was not an exception to that matter.
That day, the Ra had successfully conquered a territory that was Moro's, the rhino's grassland. A small amount of injuries and fatalities from their side so the battle this time was considered another big success for the Ra. They had succeeded again because of Gaharu, who had fought without stopping for days and very much alone against almost a thousand of snakes and lizards.
The news of Gaharu's and Tayen's injuries would spread out quick, and soon, other tribes would surely take their chances.
