Chapter 4: Into the Glowing Marshes Ecco stepped forward, his voice filled with urgency. "We need to find the other sorcerers and learn how to neutralize the artifact before Biron can use it." The woman nodded slowly. "The artifact is indeed powerful, but its magic can be countered. However, finding the sorcerers and uniting their knowledge will be no easy task." Dolla glanced at Ecco and Nyra, then back to the woman. "We're ready for whatever challenges lie ahead. We just need to know where to start." The woman gestured for them to follow her into a smaller chamber adjacent to the main hall. In the center of the room was a large stone table, upon which lay an intricately carved map. She traced a finger over the map, pointing to various locations. "The sorcerers are scattered across Eldoria. Each one guards a piece of the knowledge you seek. The first sorcerer you must find is located in the Glowing Marshes. He goes by the name of Tharos." Nyra frowned. "The Glowing Marshes are treacherous. Many have ventured there and never returned." The woman nodded. "Yes, but Tharos is essential to your quest. His knowledge of the ancient runes will help you understand the artifact's true nature." Dolla straightened, determination evident in her eyes. "Then that's where we'll go. Thank you for your guidance." The woman smiled faintly. "May the spirits of the Whispering Woods protect you on your journey." With the information they needed, Dolla, Ecco, and Nyra left the temple and made their way back through the enchanted forest. Drakon greeted them with a low rumble, his eyes reflecting the same determination that burned within Dolla. As they took to the skies once more, Dolla couldn't help but feel a mix of anxiety and excitement. Their journey was only just beginning, and they had a long road ahead. But with each step, they grew closer to their goal of stopping Lord Biron and freeing Eldoria. The journey to the Glowing Marshes was grueling. The landscape gradually transformed from dense forests to mist-covered swamps, the air thick with humidity and the smell of decaying vegetation. The marshes glowed with an eerie light, the source of which remained a mystery to all but a few. Dolla guided Drakon to a safe landing spot on the edge of the marshes. The dragon lowered himself to the ground, allowing Dolla, Ecco, and Nyra to dismount. "These marshes are dangerous," Ecco said, surveying their surroundings. "We'll need to stay on high alert." Nyra nodded, her eyes scanning the area. "I've heard stories of creatures that dwell here. We'll have to be careful." Dolla took a deep breath, feeling the weight of their mission. "Let's find Tharos and get the information we need." They ventured into the marshes, the glowing light casting an otherworldly glow on the water and vegetation. The ground beneath their feet was soft and treacherous, threatening to swallow them with every step. As they navigated the marshes, they encountered numerous obstacles. Strange, luminescent creatures watched them from the shadows, their eyes glowing eerily in the dim light. The air was filled with the sounds of unseen creatures, their calls echoing through the mist. After hours of trudging through the marshes, they finally reached a small, dilapidated hut half-submerged in the swamp. A faint light flickered inside, casting long shadows on the water. "This must be it," Dolla said, stepping forward cautiously. They approached the hut and knocked on the door. After a moment, it creaked open to reveal an old man with a long, tangled beard and piercing eyes that seemed to see right through them. "Who are you?" the man demanded, his voice rough and gravelly. Dolla stepped forward, her expression resolute. "We are seeking Tharos. We need his help to stop Lord Biron." The old man studied them for a long moment before stepping aside. "Come in." They entered the hut, which was filled with strange artifacts and glowing runes etched into the walls. The old man gestured for them to sit at a small, rickety table. "I am Tharos," he said, taking a seat across from them. "Why do you seek me?" Dolla unrolled the scroll with the prophecy and handed it to him. "We need to stop Lord Biron from using a powerful artifact. We were told you could help us understand its magic." Tharos read the scroll, his expression growing more serious with each passing moment. "The artifact... yes, I know of it. Its magic is ancient and dangerous. If Biron harnesses its power, it could bring ruin to all of Eldoria." Ecco leaned forward, his eyes filled with urgency. "How do we stop him?" Tharos sighed, rubbing his temples. "The artifact is bound by ancient runes, runes that only the sorcerers can decipher. Each sorcerer holds a piece of the puzzle. You must gather all the pieces to unlock the artifact's secrets and neutralize its power." Nyra nodded. "We were told that you have knowledge of these runes." Tharos stood and moved to a shelf, retrieving an old, weathered book. He placed it on the table and opened it to a page filled with intricate symbols. "These are the runes. They must be understood and combined in a specific way to counter the artifact's magic." Dolla studied the runes, her mind racing. "We need to find the other sorcerers and gather their knowledge." Tharos nodded. "Yes. But be warned, the journey will be perilous. The other sorcerers are hidden in places as treacherous as these marshes. You will need all your strength and courage to find them." Ecco placed a hand on Dolla's shoulder. "We'll do whatever it takes." Tharos smiled faintly. "I believe you will. Take this book. It will help you understand the runes and guide you on your quest." Dolla accepted the book with gratitude. "Thank you, Tharos. We'll make sure Biron never uses the artifact." As they left the hut and made their way back through the marshes, Dolla felt a renewed sense of determination. They had a long road ahead, but with each step, they grew closer to uncovering the secrets of the artifact and stopping Lord Biron. The journey out of the marshes was no easier than the journey in. They had to navigate through treacherous terrain and avoid the many dangers that lurked in the shadows. But with Tharos's book in hand, they felt a renewed sense of purpose. As they finally reached the edge of the marshes and mounted Drakon once more, Dolla took a moment to look back at the glowing swamps. It had been a difficult journey, but they had gained valuable knowledge. "Where to next?" Ecco asked, studying the map. Dolla traced a finger over the map, stopping at a distant mountain range. "The next sorcerer is said to live in the Ice Caves of the Frost Peaks. It's a long journey, but we don't have a choice." Nyra nodded. "We'll face whatever comes our way. We have to." With Drakon's powerful wings carrying them through the sky, they set off towards the Frost Peaks, ready to face the next challenge in their quest to stop Lord Biron and save Eldoria.
