Two guardians, created together with the same appearance, were bestowed a universe. This universe is different from other universes as it is composed of two different worlds that contradict with time and fate. The two guardians were known as ‘The Deuvil’ and ‘The Hugheles’. They were created just how the new universe works. They might have the same appearance but they have completely opposite personalities just how the alternative world is advanced and the parallel world is not progressing.
As soon as the twin guardians were disseminated to the world they will serve, they are both clueless to how the lives of ‘humans’ work. They started their duty to protect these worlds as they have different methods of protecting it.
‘The Hugheles’ is a guardian that became known for his immaturity and foolishness. He would always be tricked by the humans. In addition, he is also clumsy and he only knows how to have fun. He saw the ability of the humans to be progressive in his world which is why he did not do anything in any means but only ‘to have fun’. Although he is foolish as other guardians say, he does not possess an emotion like a human which is why he had never gotten attracted nor attached to any human in his world.
Meanwhile, ‘The Deuvil’ is completely opposite with ‘The Hugheles’. He does not like to be touched by any human. He hates them and resents the world he is in because of the kind of system they are living in. The humans in his world worship their fellow humans. They are ruled by royal families and priests. His world had people that had abilities like a guardian and they controlled the weak ones and did whatever they would like. However, as ‘The Deuvil’ inspected his world and toured around his world, he had come across this unusual tribe that is different from the rest of the world, the Amana Tribe.
The most significant culture of this tribe is their strong loyalty to their hometown, their patriotic personalities. They fight other tribes to protect everyone in their tribe. And they have good principles and a judgment system that he can say is rational and well-made.
Unlike ‘The Hugheles’, ‘The Deuvil’ is mature and wise yet terrifying in another way. He is cunning and is good at observing the people however, one night, he tested the Amana tribe that he had been observing for a while. When another tribe attacked and burnt down their hometown, he transmigrated himself to an infant that was left at home alone because his mother was murdered by the enemy.
Just before the house burned, a woman broke into the house and took him, an infant, with her. He was not expecting that. That was the Epia, the Princess of the Amana tribe. How did she know that an infant was trapped in the house? He clearly saw Princess Epia fighting with the enemies while rescuing the other children of the tribe.
That moment, ‘The Deuvil’ was moved with the bravery of Princess Epia and from then on, he blessed them with extraordinary strength as warriors. He also blessed Princess Epia with a godly voice and an exceptional power of sense, for her to use in the future in case the Amana will have a battle again.
Just like that, ‘The Deuvil’ lived temporarily as a human being and as an adopted son of Princess Epia. He was loved just as equal to the other children in the tribe. He could eat well and he is free to enjoy the simplicity of their community. Until then, after seven years of living with them, he had received a quest from the alternative world coming from his twin guardian, ‘The Hugheles’.
The quest was about knowing each other’s worlds. It was an order from the Heavens. They came up with an idea of exploring each other’s world within a year and to judge each other’s worlds. He accepted the quest and there he explored the alternative world while he left the unconscious body of the young child he possessed to Princess Epia. He explored the ‘modern’ world, they say, and looked for the other souls of the people he cared about in the parallel world. As he explored the alternative world, not only he understood the system and the way of their lives but he also understood the contradicting fate of the souls from his world and his twin guardian’s world. He looked for these people and although they are scattered all around that world, he blessed them and their descendants with abilities as they become known as ‘magicians’ in the alternative world.
A year had passed, when ‘The Deuvil’ came back to his original world, the body of the young child he possessed had also recovered from his illness. The body of the young child was sick because that body was originally weak not until he possessed it. When he came back to the body, everything came back to normal but it was just his speculation.
The bloody war from different Empires started the year he came back. It was a war between abilities to abilities while they tried conquering the places that do not belong to anyone. One of them is their island where the Amana tribe resides.
It was an unexpected war that ‘The Deuvil’ had not contemplated. He cannot leave the body of the child he possessed as he knows that Princess Epia will be harmed if he grows weak. However, when he is in that human body, his abilities as a guardian are limited.
Because of the unfortunate situation he is in, he watched half of the Amana tribe get annihilated and when he saw the struggling of Princess Epia, he was left no choice but to take her with him in the alternative world.
It was a shock to Princess Epia that she got into a completely different world. However, just as ‘The Deuvil’ was about to heal her, she grabbed his hand tightly and looked into his eyes, desperately.
“You have no need to purify my wounds, Lias.”
He was taken aback and he just realized how badly Princess Epia is injured. He trembled with the sight of blood coming out from every part of her body as if she was decaying.
“I am truly sorry to have not told you about this, Lias,” Princess Epia was crying when she started speaking again. “I have knowledge that you are not an ordinary human, Lias.”
His eyes went wide as he had never realized that the ‘mother’ he recognized, could have actually told the world that he is a guardian but she did not tell anyone.
“I knew that you are something more powerful than the Empires… Please…” The Princess begged him. She lowered her head to the ground. “Please save my family. Save the Amana tribe.”
And those were her last words. And because of the extreme grieving he felt at that time, the terrifying guardian became even more terrifying as he lost control of his power. He went berserk and it caused the alternative world to experience strong natural phenomena such as dangerous earthquakes, heavy rains, and super tsunamis across the whole world.
If ‘The Deuvil’ had not thought about saving the Amana tribe of the dead Princess, he might have ended the alternative world in his hands. After causing big casualties to his twin’s world, he came back to his world to save the Princess Epia’s tribe. He moved them to an extremely isolated island that no Empires can locate. He made the island invisible to the eyes of the outsiders. He made a strong barrier to protect the island and its coast.
Just after that, ‘The Deuvil’ was called to the Heavens. ‘The Angeles’ made a judgement of his actions and he was sentenced to a century of isolation to the depths of a treacherous forest that no one had ever tried traveling to.
During the time of his sentence, he would only think about his moments with Princess Epia. He would recall how she took care of him as if she was her own. She treasured him so much that he was haunted by the fact that Princess Epia was carrying a child during her death. He could hear her voice saying so many good things…
“Lias, I want you to like someone from my descendants.”
“If a descendant of mine would like to marry you, would you treat her like a sibling or a person?”
“Thy only see thou as thy mother and nothing else.”
“So you mean you do not see my sons as your siblings?”
“Thy do not have a sibling.”
That moment, Princess Epia had confirmed that her adopted son, Lias, is not an ordinary human. But despite that, she did not care about it and just acted how she usually is as she had also accepted it.
“Twinny.”
The only being who can visit him to the depths of the forest was his twin guardian, ‘The Hugheles’. It had been twenty years of being isolated in that forest. He still has sixty years more.
“I am so sorry I could not save you from the Angeles.”
He did not speak and remained being tangled to the tentacles of the roots of a holy tree. He had no godly power and his body was so weak that it was tiring to speak.
“Are you alright, twinny?”
‘The Hugheles’ wanted to help him so badly but he cannot defy the punishment of ‘The Angeles’. However, he does have a way to help him.
“The Angeles recently had chosen human subjects to have given a pure soul. These humans possess divinity that could lift up any curse. According to the Law of Guardians, these pure souls can lift punishments too and they can be acquired when a pure soul willingly gives you a piece of a pure soul. If a pure soul would be indebted to you, you will have their soul that was given by the Angeles.”
‘The Deuvil’ knows the purpose of his twin guardian. He wanted him to know that his punishment can be lifted if he gets pure souls and that a human with pure soul should be indebted to him. He trusted his twin’s information so he waited for a long time for a human to come to him.
Another twenty years has passed and he almost lost the hope of being lifted from his punishment until then, he felt a presence of immense divinity coming towards him. It was a strong divinity that he thought that an Angeles was coming towards him but he was completely wrong.
“Are you “The Deuvil”?”
For the first time during his punishment, he opened his eyes out of curiosity to why this man that had arrived had immense divinity in him. There he saw a massive amount of pure souls within the man. He was surprised to see a pure soul for the first time. Just with this man going near him, he can feel its calming effect towards his body. He felt alive and he is not feeling cold anymore.
The man bent his knee down to the ground and lowered his head. It was so elegant and he could feel the sincerity of his soul.
“I am Aerelius Eluned Agmundr. I have travelled within two months before I get to find the holy tree above this ground, your holiness.”
He can feel it. He can sense the power of Princess Epia within this man! Who is this man to have a scent of the Princess with him?
“Heed your purpose, human.”
“I have learned that ‘The Deuvil’ is the only being who can cure the broken soul of my sole daughter. My daughter, Amishtia Epiphany, had her soul broken and I have looked for many methods to find the cure however I failed as a father.”
Upon hearing ‘Epiphany’ from the man, ‘The Deuvil’ forfeited with the remembrance of the Princess’ name from it. Did something happen to the island he protected? Is this man related to the descendants of Princess Epia? He needs to lift his punishment quickly. What if something happens to the Amana tribe?
“I plea a thousanth of two and a hundreth of five pure souls.”
“What are pure souls?”
“I will provide you an ability to perceive through pure souls. Whose snowy is pure. Whose dim is substance to demise. However, remember that, a human whose soul has copious snowy in one body, it means that thei are protected by ‘angeles’. It is because their hearts are roots of purity and thei have a thousanth of one to a thousanth of two of pure souls.”
After his conversation with that man, three months later, he felt the immense amount of pure souls penetrating throughout his body. The roots of the holy tree finally released him and he felt the strengthening of his body, rapidly. That only means that the man who came to him fulfilled his promise and succeeded in collecting pure souls for him but why…
Why does it feel like it is exceeding the number of pure souls he wanted? Why is he overflowing with pure souls more than he needed? Unless…
“Finally.” The Deuvil thought that he was finally free but he was wrong.
He came looking for the source of the pure souls. And there he found two lying bodies while holding each other’s hands. They were covered with snow and they were wearing expensive clothes as if they were aristocrats. Just when he checked the bodies, he found out that it was the man who came for his help and then when he looked into the woman he was holding, ‘The Deuvil’ fell on his knees when he realized that the scent coming from that man before was coming from the woman he was holding.
There was no doubt that the woman was a descendant of Princess Epia. And he was too late to save her from her death.
While on the verge of grieving, he remembered that the man mentioned two children. So he went looking for the children of the couple. There he found the two of them dead. And what made him petrified is the strong will he can feel from the pure souls he possessed which is to save… the daughter, only.
‘The Deuvil’ sensed the scent of Princess Epia from the dead children. He got angry. He got so angry towards himself that he was not able to save the last descendant of Princess Epia. Just when he was about to revive the last descendant of Princess of Epia, the heavens split into two and a blinding light penetrated the whole world as the time stopped. Then ‘The Angeles’ went down to face ‘The Deuvil’.
“I believe thy Deuvil have not defied thy rules of Guardians. Thy pure souls thei have collected shall be credited and thy punishment shall be halted. However, the fate of thei souls and the other souls, it is one and it shall not, as this universe shall end. Thy fate shall be contradicting. Thus, what shall be done by thou, thy Deuvil?”
It was an unexpected occurrence to the history of the guardians to have this situational problem. Some souls from the parallel world were having the same fate in the alternative world which means that it should not happen as the alternative and parallel world should be opposite. This only means that the other souls of this family are suffering the same grief from the alternative world.
“Thy time shall be returned backwards.” The Deuvil concluded.
“Thou cannot turn back the time, thy Deuvil.”
“Thei thousanth of two and a hundreth of five pure souls, I have hundredth more. Thy shall put it into use.”
‘The Angeles’ had a calculating look towards ‘The Deuvil’ while he made a statement about turning back the time. So then, ‘The Angeles’ smiled before speaking again.
“Good choice, thy Deuvil. Thou shall turn the time back with my pure souls.”
The heavens finally closed when ‘The Angeles’ came back to the outer universe. So then, he looked at the dead body of the last descendant of Princess Epia. Before the time continued, he took the daughter’s hanging body from the execution ground along with the body of her older brother who had pierced his heart with a sword. He laid down the bodies beside the bodies of their father and mother. He covered their cold bodies with a thick cloth and watched them.
‘The Deuvil’ bent his knees down to the ground as he closed his eyes.
“I apologize, my dear Princess Epia. I shall not make your descendants suffer anymore. I shall make them the rulers of this world.”
And just after that. He turned back the time as he found out that only one soul can change the fate of this family. And it is the other soul of the last descendant of Princess Epia from the alternative world. That is why ‘The Deuvil’ went to the alternative world to stop the other soul from dying. That is how the pop-singer Scyttiarl was summoned to the parallel world just after the time was turned back.

Tia was crying when her parents had finally arrived at the Imperial palace. She had planned on welcoming them with a smile but she could not suppress the heavy feeling she had just as she saw the images of her parents’ other souls within their body.
She burst out crying in her parents’ arms as she did not let go of them. She cried out loud while everyone was thinking that she might have missed her parents so bad. But it was not. It is because she saw her parents in the alternative world within their bodies and it means that... they are really her parents.
‘The Deuvil’ watched the descendants of Princess Epia and then he sighed in relief.
