Nelica's father nodded and cleared its throat. Then her mother was the one who answered. "Uhm.. Y-Yes. But don't get us wrong though, we just want to ask how the both of you or the both of you are already okay.. When you stowed away back then.. And their son went to that particular place to find you but unfortunately he didn't because we found out that he really didn't went there to find you but to study, those days.. We're still updating the process of the two of you."
Her eyes widened. "W-What? You mean.. You knew where I was back then all along? H-How?"
"Yes but not the exact place. And we knew because we hired a private investigator that's so lousy unfortunately so we didnt get the chance to know where exactly were you hiding back then until you came home yourself."
She was so shocked knowing that. Then she looked away. Maybe that private investigator really couldn't find her back then that easy because she's.. Staying in that man's condo before for some reason. But so much for that anyway. She really don't want to remember her past and remember that man. It's pissing her off.
Her mother continued. "So.. That's it. We keep updated about the both of you always. That's how we badly want the two of you to end up together just like what we dreamed. But some things are really don't meant to happen I guess. Because of us, you two changed negatively. Can't move on until now with your lives even. And we want to end that hardships you both are facing up to now. So when we saw you earlier crying so hard again, we couldn't take that anymore.. So we called up our old friends to tell them that and when they told us that their son became even changing now, that's when we decided to go to London earlier after they told us that they're in that country, specifically in their son's house taking a days vacation to reach out to their son too. Did you see the work of fate, daughter? We're already worried about you and they're already worried about their son's changes too. Which lead us.. To this decision. So please.. Help us make that decision of ours.. Work."
She smiled bitterly again. "Oh, mom.. Do you think I'd be able to get to know him very well?"
Her parents smiled so widely at her. "Yes. Because you have a lot of days, weeks or even months to do that. Same goes to him."
She's still reluctant. And probably.. Forever be reluctant. "Days, weeks and months still can't measure that he's the man for me, mom."
"Oh you're wrong, daughter. Because love.. Is predestined. First time you make eye contact with a person who is destined for you until eternity, you can feel it in your heart eventually."
'And that's what I felt when I first laid my eyes on that jerk but look what happened in the end.' She said in her thoughts while stopping herself from sneering. Then she sighed. 'But maybe then you're meant to be together till eternity with that. While I was just meant to be with that jerk for months.' She sarcastically said in her thoughts again.
"Trust me, daughter.. Because I felt that.. With your father since time immemorial, daughter. And now look, we have you. And we will do everything.. To put you in the right man, daughter. And hopefully, that's our old friends' first born son."
She closed her eyes tightly and opened her eyes. Then she shook her head and said, "Doesn't he have business? Wouldn't he get disturbed because of those days, weeks or even months getting to know set up?"
"He's a businessman, a very famous businessman. A multi billionaire even. But he agreed. So maybe he knows how to navigate things out. He's a genius, daughter. So I know he can navigate things instantly. Same goes to you and to your business as well." Her father said proudly with a wide smile that made her want to roll her eyes upward.
'But you two are both smarter or genius than us. Jesus.' She thought in disbelief and rubbed her temple gently.
"So? What's your verdict, daughter?"
She eyed her parents seriously. To be honest, she's really hesitant about that set up. It's too risky. And so disturbing. She's still in vain. And trusting her heart to someone once again is too hard for her to do. Giving someone a chance is too risky for her. And she doesn't trust anybody again. Especially that time. That guilt was slowly engulfing her once more. She lost him because of her. And probably, she will forever grave that.And honestly, she doesn't want to do what her parents wanted for her but she doesn't want her parents to worry about her anymore also. And to add the record, truth is.. Even if she really want to move on from her past, even if she really want to give that man a chance.. But still.. The memories of that man who had hurt her back then, and the reason she lost the very important person in her life, was still unfortunately and firmly stuck within her. And so that guilt was creeping her entire self again. And it's killing her. So maybe.. Maybe she'll just give that a try for her parents' sake? And God knows what will happen to that upcoming meet up then. The important thing is.. She obliged on what her parents wanted her to do. So she heaved a deep breath, fake a smile to her parents and said, "Alright. I'll give it a try then."
Her parents' eyes widened and the two hugged her happily. "Oh, daughter, thank God you realised things already."
Somehow.. Conscience ate her whole.
'Sorry, mom.. But this setup will be over soon. Because I.. Will end it as soon as possible.' she firmly said in mind, yet she gave her parents a warm smile after the two pulled away from her.
"So.. When will I be able to meet this man?" She asked, which made her father smile at her excitedly.
"It's gonna be up to you, daughter. So when do you want to meet him?"
So she firmly answered..
"Effective tomorrow."
