Chapter 22: The Wrath of Mambabarang
Chapter 22: The Wrath of Mambabarang
Margaret stood outside Vergel's lavish mansion, her heart heavy with determination as she prepared to confront him one last time. The night air was thick with tension as she approached the imposing gates, her eyes blazing with righteous fury as she prepared to unleash the full force of her dark magic upon the man who had caused her sister so much pain.
As she reached the gates, they swung open with a creak, revealing Vergel standing on the other side, his face twisted with arrogance as he regarded her with disdain.
"What do you want, Margaret?" he sneered, his voice dripping with contempt as he crossed his arms over his chest. "Come to beg for forgiveness? It's too late for that."
Margaret's jaw clenched with anger as she met Vergel's gaze, her eyes flashing with fury as she stepped forward to stand before him.
"I've come to give you one last chance to repent," she said, her voice cold and resolute. "To atone for the sins you've committed against my sister and all those who have suffered because of you."
Vergel laughed, a cruel, mocking sound that sent shivers down Margaret's spine as she fought to keep her composure.
"Repent?" he scoffed, his voice dripping with contempt. "Why should I repent for anything? I've done nothing wrong. It's your sister who brought this upon herself, not me."
Margaret's fists clenched at her sides, her nails digging into her palms as she struggled to contain the rage that burned within her.
"You're deluded, Vergel," she spat, her voice trembling with anger. "But know this - if you refuse to repent, there will be consequences. You will face the full force of my wrath, and you will rue the day you ever crossed me."
Vergel's eyes narrowed with defiance as he stared back at Margaret, his lips curling into a cruel smirk.
"Is that a threat, Margaret?" he taunted, his voice laced with arrogance. "Do your worst. I'm not afraid of you or your so-called powers."
Margaret's eyes blazed with fury as she listened to Vergel's arrogant words, her patience wearing thin as she prepared to unleash her dark magic upon him.
"You brought this upon yourself, Vergel," she said, her voice low and menacing as she raised her hands, summoning the power of the Mambabarang to her command.
Vergel's eyes widened with fear as he watched Margaret's transformation, his bravado faltering for the first time as he realized the true extent of her power.
"You can't do this," he stammered, his voice trembling with fear. "I won't let you."
But Margaret paid him no heed, her focus consumed by the dark energy swirling around her as she prepared to unleash it upon her enemy.
With a final surge of power, Margaret unleashed the full force of her dark magic upon Vergel and his remaining allies, the air crackling with energy as the curse took hold.
Vergel screamed in agony as he felt the insects swarm over his body, their sharp mandibles tearing at his flesh as he writhed in pain. His friends fared no better, their screams mingling with his as they too were consumed by the nightmarish plague.
As Margaret watched the carnage unfold before her, a sense of satisfaction washed over her, her heart soaring with triumph as she watched her enemies suffer for their sins.
But even as she reveled in her victory, she knew that her work was not yet done. There were still others out there who sought to do harm, and she would not rest until they too had faced the full force of her wrath.
With a final glance at Vergel and his friends, their bodies writhing in agony as the insects consumed them from within, Margaret turned and walked away, her steps firm and resolute as she prepared to continue her quest for justice, no matter the cost.
As Margaret stood amidst the wreckage of her vengeance, the echoes of screams still lingering in the air, she felt a heavy weight settle upon her shoulders. The victory she had sought had come at a great cost, and now, in the aftermath of the carnage, she found herself grappling with the consequences of her actions.
"I never wanted this," she whispered to herself, her voice barely above a whisper as she surveyed the destruction wrought by her dark magic. "I never wanted to become a monster."
But even as the guilt threatened to consume her, Margaret knew that she could not turn back the hands of time. What was done was done, and now she must face the consequences of her choices, no matter how dire they may be.
As she wandered through the charred remains of Vergel's mansion, Margaret's thoughts turned to Betina - her sweet, innocent sister whose life had been cut short by the cruelty of others. Tears welled in her eyes as she remembered Betina's laughter, her smile, her dreams of a better life in the city.
"I'm so sorry, Betina," Margaret whispered, her voice choked with emotion as she knelt beside the ruins of the once-grand estate. "I should have protected you. I should have been there for you."
But even as she mourned her sister's loss, Margaret knew that she could not dwell on the past. She must find a way to atone for her sins, to make amends for the lives she had taken in her quest for vengeance.
With a heavy heart, Margaret made her way back to her modest apartment, her thoughts consumed by the weight of her guilt. But as she stepped inside, she was greeted by a surprising sight - Detective Ramirez and Officer Gomez standing in her living room, their faces grave with concern.
"We need to talk," Ramirez said, his voice serious as he gestured for Margaret to take a seat.
Margaret's heart sank as she realized that the authorities had finally caught up with her, that she would be forced to pay for her crimes. But as Ramirez began to speak, his words filled her with a glimmer of hope.
"We know what you did, Margaret," Ramirez said, his voice tinged with sympathy. "And while we can't condone your actions, we understand why you did what you did. You were seeking justice for your sister, and in doing so, you lost yourself."
Margaret's eyes filled with tears as she listened to Ramirez's words, a sense of relief washing over her as she realized that she was not alone in her struggle.
"I don't know how to make things right," she admitted, her voice trembling with emotion. "I don't know if I'll ever be able to forgive myself for what I've done."
Ramirez placed a hand on Margaret's shoulder, his touch comforting as he looked into her eyes with compassion.
"We're not here to judge you, Margaret," he said, his voice gentle. "We're here to help you find a way to make amends, to find redemption for your sins."
And with those words, Margaret felt a glimmer of hope stir within her heart, a sense that perhaps, despite the darkness that had consumed her, there was still a chance for her to find her way back to the light.
Together with Ramirez and Gomez, Margaret embarked on a journey of redemption, seeking out ways to right the wrongs she had committed and to atone for the lives she had taken. It was a long and difficult road, filled with obstacles and challenges, but Margaret faced each trial with courage and determination, knowing that she could never truly rest until she had made things right.
And as she walked the path to redemption, Margaret felt a sense of peace settle upon her soul, a knowing that no matter how dark the night may seem, there is always a glimmer of light waiting to guide the way.Download Novelah App
