CHAPTER 16

ALEXANDER POV
When I got home, my reliable male secretary was already there, showing how good he is at his job.
"Oh, Stephen, what brings you here?" I asked, slightly surprised, though I shouldn't have been. He always knew what I needed before I did.
"Evening, sir," he said quickly as he hurried down the dim hallway. "Your mom asked me to tell you that you can't miss tonight's party at the Montgomery House."
"Tonight?" I said, feeling both surprised and hesitant. "A party? What kind of party?... I mean, there must be some mistake."
He shook his head, sympathy in his eyes. "This is your engagement party, sir. They've asked for you, and if you're not there, they'll notice."
His words hit me like a sudden shock. "Engagement party? Tonight?" I repeated in anger and disbelief, struggling to process the unexpected news.
Hurrying to my room, my mind was a mess of confusion and doubt. It seemed ridiculous that she'd go this far for the wedding. Was her love real or just a show? It was both funny and puzzling to think about.
Collapsing onto my bed, I tousled my hair, grappling with confusion. "Does she really love me, or am I just part of her show?" I pondered, my words lingering softly in the quiet of my room.
I couldn't shake off the doubt about this woman. Was it real, or just a show? It amused me but also bothered me. It felt strange that she'd be so serious about this wedding. When in the first place, it was just a merger for both companies. Maybe she was attracted to my looks alone. But I was more than just a pretty face and a fit body. I had layers, a character, ambitions, and dreams.
Looking at myself in the mirror, I felt disconnected. Sure, I was attractive, but there was more to me. Maybe this woman is ambitious. She may have thought I was an easy prey for her eyes, or maybe it was a plan all along by her family so they could take control of high society.
I shook my head, trying to clear my mind. I had to get ready for the party. With a sigh, I started putting on the tuxedo that was neatly prepared for me. The fabric felt smooth and cool against my skin, a sharp difference from the chaos in my head. I styled my hair, ensuring every strand was in place. As I adjusted my tie and fastened the strap of my Rolex, I couldn't help but reflect on the absurdity of the situation. It was a peculiar day, indeed. I had encountered two women, one was crazy and the other one was deceptive.
As I made my way to the Montgomery House, my mind was a whirlwind of thoughts about the impending party and the woman who claimed to be in love with me. The night was young, and only time would reveal how this unexpected chapter in my life would unfold.
I reached the Montgomery mansion, amazed by the grand and beautiful buildings around me. Even at the gate, I felt the richness and luxury in the air. The gate was made of one of the rarest metals, showing how rich the family was.
As I got out of the car, Stephen, my secretary, smiled politely. "Follow me, Sir," he said, leading me towards the entrance. I walked behind him, admiring the beautiful details of the mansion's exterior. It was obvious that they hadn't held back on spending for its construction.
Inside, the mansion was lively. Laughter and music filled the air as people chatted and had fun. I headed to the seating area where I was supposed to meet Amelia, the host's daughter, for the evening.
Amelia, in a beautiful gown that highlighted her figure, sat at our table. She looked surprised as she saw me. "I thought you weren't coming! The party's almost done, and you're just getting here now. Are you avoiding me?" she whispered, her irritation clear despite her fake smile.
I chuckled softly, finding her accusation amusing as I shook my head in mock disbelief. "Avoiding you? Oh, Amelia, you think too highly of yourself," I joked, my tone playful with a touch of sarcasm. "And as for being late, well, let's just say I like to make a grand entrance."
Amelia smirked, her eyes showing both curiosity and irritation. "You do love to make drama," she said, sarcasm evident in her voice. "But even you have to admit, this is pushing it. It's okay for you to leave everything about the wedding, but going with a smug face and especially late. Do you even call yourself boss when you couldn't even come on time?"
I leaned back, smiling knowingly as I looked at her. "Amelia, your words hurt," I said, pretending to be wounded with a hand on my chest. "But I see through your tricks. Even if you tried to seduce me, I wouldn't touch you."
Amelia's frustration boiled over, and she couldn't hold back her anger any longer. "You're so full of yourself!" she exclaimed, her words bitter with resentment. "I don't understand why women are drawn to you. You're just so arrogant and proud."
I leaned back, smirking. "Ah, Amelia," I said confidently. "Confidence is attractive. It's what makes me stand out. Someone who knows their value and isn't afraid to show it."
Amelia shook her head, clearly irritated. "You know, confidence is great, but you sometimes cross the line into arrogance. And trust me, that's not attractive."
I chuckled softly, playfully shaking my head as I teased, "Oh, Amelia, you misunderstand." My tone remained light as I continued, "Confidence and arrogance? They're similar but not the same. I'm simply self-assured and know my worth. If others can't see that, it's their loss."
Amelia crossed her arms, her eyes burning with anger. "Listen up," she began firmly, "Sure, arrogance might draw in a few ladies, but it's not built to last. Sooner or later, they'll see past the act and realize you're nothing but a big-headed show-off."
Raising an eyebrow, slightly irritated, I leaned in, intrigued but bothered by her confidence. "Oh, really?" I asked, with a hint of annoyance. "And what makes you so certain, Amelia?" My curiosity hid a bit of frustration, keen to grasp her reasoning.
Leaning forward with steely firmness, she narrowed her eyes, her voice filled with determination."Let me make something clear," she said, her voice unwavering. "I absolutely refuse to be one of those women. I see beyond your charms and your schemes. I will not allow myself to become another conquest on your list, discarded and forgotten."
You know, even if you strip in front of me, I wouldn't lay a finger on you," I said without even looking at her. But I could feel her piercing eyes behind me.
"What makes you think that I would strip for you? Who do you think you are? You're such a proud and arrogant person. I don't even know what women see in you or why they get infatuated with you," she angrily said, now looking at me without the smiling facade.
A mischievous grin played on my lips as I leaned closer to her, my voice dripping with confidence. "Do you want to know why?" I asked, my eyes locked with hers. "It's because your groom has a big, fat dick that women want to taste. And once they get a taste, you'd beg for it too," I said, my smirk growing wider.

Amelia's face turned crimson with anger, her cheeks as red as a tomato. "Disgusting!" she spat, her voice filled with disdain.
I leaned back in my chair, still wearing a smug expression. "Ah, but my dear Amelia, the truth can be quite surprising, can't it?" I replied, relishing her reaction. "Maybe you should think about your own actions before judging others."
