Chapter 40 Owen Aries and Grace Cancer

Owen's POV
From our childhood, we were always together. Our mothers were friends, so since we were young, we were close. We always played house, and she would always tell me that I was the father and she was the mother. When we turned four years old, we started training. Grace wasn't as strong back then, so I trained first while she studied. Yes, since we were kids, I was always teasing her, always the first one to notice her.
One day, while I was training, she suddenly came and wanted to train with me.
Grace: Are you training again, Owen?
Owen: Yes. How's your studying?
Grace: It's okay. And you, how's your training?
Owen: It's going well. Looks like I'm getting stronger.
Grace: If that's the case, I won't let you win.
Owen: Alright, if you can.
Grace: If you want, let's race to see who can sit on the Zodiacs first?
Owen: Alright, it's a promise?
Grace: Yes, the one who loses will treat the winner.
Owen: Okay.
Grace: If that's the case, can I join you in training?
Owen: That's fine with me.
And from then on, we trained together until she was eight years old. After that, her uncle, who was in the Zodiacs, took her and trained her there. Because I didn't want to lose to her, I also went to the current Zodiac Aries to train there. When the day came for us to meet again at school, I was surprised because the young Grace I knew had become a beautiful lady.
When I saw her, she hadn't seen me yet, and I felt embarrassed to show myself to her because we hadn't seen each other for years. But when I saw her again, she was so beautiful.
One day, I was on the rooftop, and suddenly someone opened the door and entered. I was surprised, and so was she. It was Grace. I was so shocked that my face turned red and my heart raced.
Grace: Wait, I know you.
Owen: R-really? Did you think the most popular girl in school knows me?
That's what I said to her because I wanted to make an excuse. But she suddenly approached me, and my whole face turned red.
Grace: It seems like we know each other somewhere.
Owen: What, maybe in your dreams.
Grace: Yes, you're that kid. The one I used to play with. What's your name again...???
Every time she tried to remember my name, I looked at her face and I found her even more beautiful.
Grace: Yes, you're Owen. Right?
Owen: Yes, that's me.
Grace: Wow, how are you? You probably have a girlfriend by now, right?
Owen: I don't have a girlfriend yet.
Grace: You're not good with girls. You're handsome but you don't have a girlfriend.
And I didn't expect her to suddenly make a joke.
Grace: If you want, we can be together.
I couldn't speak, and my heart beat even faster, and I didn't know what to say to her.
Owen: I-I mean...
Grace: What, it's just a joke. Aren't we rivals? Did you forget?
Owen: N-no.
Grace: Really? I don't believe you. Looks like I'm stronger than you now.
Owen: You wish, I won't lose to you.
Grace: But you're just Class-B.
Owen: My fighting skills aren't determined by the section you belong to.
Grace: If that's the case, let's start our competition to see who will be the first to become a Zodiacs.
Owen: Looks like you're very confident in yourself now.
After that, we were always together during our break times, and other students would tell us how lucky I was to always be with Grace, who was the most beautiful girl in the school. But she wasn't the only beautiful one there. There was another beautiful classmate, Ava Scorpio. She was also beautiful, and I could say she was Grace's rival in beauty back then. My first impression of her was that she was a grumpy and snobbish girl, but when I got to know her during training, she turned out to be a gentle girl. I could say she had the qualities I was looking for in a girl, but during those times, I wanted Grace.
One day, we got into a fight with an unknown group, and all the students were knocked down. Only the three of us were left because the guy we were fighting against was very strong. And when our fight continued, Ava got attacked. Those who studied healing abilities were also critical of their condition, so only I could heal Ava.
Grace: I'll take care of him, you heal Ava.
Owen: But...
Grace: You're the only one who can use healing abilities. Remember that.
Owen: Can you handle him?
Grace: Aren't you my rival?
And she faced the enemy alone, and my feelings for her intensified even more. When Grace's aura was depleted, I faced the enemy to protect both of them. And when I defeated the enemy, Grace was watching there.
When we graduated from the academy, there was no first place because the three of us got the highest score.
Several years passed, and I decided to confess my feelings to Grace.
"Owen, let's have a snack. Owen, let's eat. Owen, how's your fight? Are you hurt? Don't fight if you know the situation is dangerous. Take care always. I'm your rival. Do your best. I won't let you win. How are you? Good morning, Owen. Good evening, Owen." Those are the things I always hear from her, and when I confessed my feelings.
Grace: Why, Owen? Do you have something important to say? Don't tell me you're giving up on our fight.
Owen: Grace, I've been hiding my feelings for you for a long time.
Grace: What do you mean?
Owen: I like you... I like you, Grace.
When I told her my feelings, I could hardly look into her eyes.
Grace: Owen, I'm sorry, but this can't happen. We're rivals, aren't we?
Owen: Yes, but I like you.
When I looked into her eyes, it seemed like she was disgusted with me, and she suddenly left.
Several years passed, and we became Zodiacs together at the age of 26. But I always teased her to go on a date and court me. But she didn't want to. I never lost hope because I knew she was happy when I was happy. But last week, when she did that to me, I realized I had no chance with her, so I decided to give up on her and just look for another girl. I no longer considered her a rival because our bet was over.
That's our whole story.
Lilith left and the first day of class was about to begin.
Meanwhile, at TLAFLBCOZC, the chairman and Oliver were talking.
Oliver: No, no, this can't be true, chairman, right?
Chairman: I'm sorry, I know this is painful for you, but that's the truth. That's the only memory of her left, her body couldn't be found.
Oliver: No, right? That can't be true. No. No. He's strong, he wouldn't die just like that. Maybe this is all a joke. Where's the body? I don't believe it. Show me the body to make me believe.
Chairman: She was burned. By the hottest ability. She almost turned to ashes. Here's the video.
Oliver: Them!!! I'll kill them. I'll kill theeeeem!!!!!
