Annie’s POV:
Robert and I have talked about my escape plan from the hospital. He can pull some strings, he said. That one is rich and a well-known businessman. His family is one of the shareholders of the company that made the bubble vehicles. He was the next heir because their family had the largest share.
It was only 30 minutes before the appointed time for the two of us to escape. He will personally come here to help me, that's the only way he can show that he has a little love for our son and cares as a father, not just a child's act. Robert and I have a formal relationship, more like friends. I know he doesn't want anything from me, I've fallen for that animal before. Because handsome, I'm a stupid sender. I didn't think that man was a playboy.
Jesse, my beautiful princess, is asleep. I started packing and wearing underwear under my hospital gown. When I looked in the mirror, I smiled bitterly. Life is so bad. But I can't do anything. This is not an obstacle to prevent me from continuing in life for my daughter.
I am no longer the beautiful and pleasant Annie Villanueva I used to be. My cheeks were on down to my neck, some parts of my shoulders and arms, even the sides of my legs. I also put too much pressure on my body. I just hope we can get out of here and I can get some rest. I might die tired. I can't be gone yet, no one will take care of Jesse.
But even though I'm ashamed to go out and show everyone, I really won't show. After our escape and the time they found out I was missing, Jesse would really look for me anywhere in the world. I have to be careful.
My cell phone rang so I immediately looked at it, it was Robert calling. He seems ready, I'm ready too. That alone made me nervous. We really cannot fail with this plan because there is no next one. Maybe if I get caught they will kill me. I will not let Jesse fall into their hands. Maybe what they will do to my daughter.
I answered the call. Robert said that everything was ready, and even Jesse and I were excited, he was waiting in the parking lot to pick us up. He also has many guards and bodyguards with him. I know that he won't allow our daughter to be hurt either.
He said when a nurse came in with the name R. Reyes, I went with him. He said he would take me out and run away. I immediately agreed with Robert.
I have arranged our things which are only in a small bag. I was wearing a hospital gown but Robert told me to get dressed so I followed immediately. My clothes are fine.
After a while, the door to my room opened. A female nurse came rushing in, she wasn't going to run away from me.
"Miss, hide! You can't be captured and sympathized! The terrorists are taking over us again!" the nurse shouted and ran out.
My eyes widened and when I was stunned I heard gunshots outside. I immediately took Jesse and pushed the couch. I opened the window and tied the edge of the blanket to make it look like I ran away. I hid while carrying Jesse behind the couch. I wrapped him in his little blanket and covered his ears so he wouldn't wake up. Good thing Jesse is asleep, I hope she doesn't cry and wake up.
I heard the door open so I was nervous. It wasn't like Bonnie and I ran away before, this was different. It's more dangerous because we're locked up and I have nowhere to run. I'm also carrying Jesse and I'm still weak. I won't be against anything. I can't do them either.
I can see the shadow of the man, he is wearing a black suit. It was also holding a big gun so I calmed my breathing and stopped sobbing. The moment he hears me, it's the end of me.
He walked over to the window and peered in. My eyes widened because I saw my reflection on the side. The moment he sees me, it's really the end of everything.
I nodded but my eyes widened when the couch rang. Your man quickly turned to me earlier. He pulled out a gun and pointed it at me.
"Please h-don't, have mercy. I have a baby! Don't m-hurt us!" I'm crying, please.
"Shut up!" it shouted.
I closed my eyes when I heard a gunshot. I cry and feel for myself and Jesse. We are not right, my son and I are alive.
"Why are you still closing your eyes? Come on! Let's leave! There are a lot of terrorists and I can't stop them all! Let's act quickly!"
I immediately woke up when I heard that voice. Robert and I met our eyes, he was a little surprised when our eyes met. He immediately helped me stand up.
"It seems that what you have been through is very difficult. I will help you out, don't you ever go away from me. When I tell you to crouch, run, walk, hide, you will come immediately. It is a matter of second," instructed Robert. I immediately asked him.
He had a gun in his hand and was ahead while Jesse and I were behind him. He was wearing a mask and shades, he also gave me a mask. Before we went out we turned left and right.
Some people approached us who looked like Robert's bodyguards. They surrounded us to protect us. Robert grabbed my waist so I gasped in shock. He still has a different effect on me but I don't have to understand my feelings for him anymore. It doesn't matter, we don't have a relationship.
We got down to the first floor and that's where we had people shot. We were in their midst and they were consuming everyone we met so that not a single one of our comrades could be shot.
"Now Annie, we're going to run really fast. Don't look back until we get out. We're also going to ride in an armored truck, okay?" Robert instructed. I nodded but immediately remembered-
"Wait, Carolina! Bonnie's daughter, I have to save her! Robert let's get her back!" I said in surprise. What the hell is this brain of mine and I forgot about Carolina?
"We don't have time and one more thing, almost all the babies in the infirmary have been taken out by the nurses! We can't waste our lives! Run, Annie! We have to run!" Robert shouted and pulled me.
I cried and ran with him and our four fellow bodyguards. I was about to go because someone was shooting at us. We immediately boarded the armored truck when we arrived opposite it.
When I sat down I couldn't stop crying. I got out of the hospital, we finished one step. Now we will travel to the submarine. I still don't know where Robert will take us, but I have confidence in him.
"Let me hold her, fasten your seatbelt. I bought her and also some stuff that you can use on the island that will take you. I will also teach you the things you should know throughout our trip there. I will not be able to visit you throughout your stay there until Jesse reaches legal age because it's dangerous. The government might turn a blind eye to me if they find out I'm Jesse’s father," said Robert.
I gave him Jesse. When he touched Jesse, his eyes seemed to flash. He was also very careful with our two children, I was happy somehow. Robert is still a loving father to Jesse. I also understand his condition, we can't make a single mistake.
"Yes, I understand everything. Thank you very much for your help. Carolina is a case, we couldn't save her. How is she?" I asked sadly.
"I'll try to talk to Chan, there's really nothing I can do to save Carolina. We can't even save her earlier because the terrorist really intends to capture The Perfect Children. It will be in the news later," he said. Raphael.
"I'm sorry and thank you," I said, so Robert just stared at me. He stared at Jesse.
I put on my seatbelt and one of Robert's bodyguards handed me water. They also gave me take-out food at the fast food. They even managed to do take-out earlier. I offered them all but they said they were full. Robert, on the other hand, is busy getting attached to Jesse, she is easy to get attached to. He's still not hungry because he just ate before we left.
I remembered the terrorists, I'm sure there were many dead, injured, hurt, and even traumatized. It's just too easy for them to kill and conquer. They are just like ants stinging the citizens of Equinoxia. I hope someone can stop them, I hope the countries surrounding this country will work together again to stop the terrorists.
I also hope they can find the true origin and nature of Melos Syndrome. I have a feeling that Project Melos will succeed but I hope they can educate babies in a good way. I feel sad for those who were left behind and couldn't escape including Carolina. I hope nothing bad happens to them, even if they can save many lives in exchange for the science that should be discovered, don't tax the lives of those innocent babies. Don't let them scientists become monsters.
Soon we arrived at the port. Robert changed his clothes even though I changed my hoodie. We also put Jesse in a bubble carrier that gets tinted so she can't see inside. The bodyguards have also changed their clothes, it looks like they have everything planned. Even though our car is blue, I forgot that this is one of the specialties of Robert's business.
"Everybody hurry up to walk, we shouldn't waste any time. Every second that passes is dangerous," said Robert, and he carried the carrier where Jesse was.
We all quickly walked to the submarine, Robert supporting me. I still had a hard time getting down because my whole body was so sore. I was very grateful when I got down. It's the size of a submarine and Robert mentioned that it has rooms.
A doctor immediately attended to me. He made me drink medicine and he injected me. I was too tired to be curious and ask more questions. I have confidence in Robert that he will not kill me.
After treating me, Jesse and I were taken to a room. Robert came along and took care of Jesse. I was lying down and resting.
"Robert, can I know where we are going? Then the island, if possible, give me a map," I asked weakly.
"At the end of the Vortexia, we will go, to the tropical part. I have an island known there that is uninhabited and not for sale. It is forbidden to go there because of the mineral wealth, you know it is forbidden for everyone to grab the remaining resources from the past which is several thousand years old. I also own the neighboring island, a private property. You will not be traced there, I assure you.
I will also give you the supplies you need. Food rations, Jesse needs such as diapers, milk, things, clothes for both of you, soaps, and whatnot. I also have books to give you for other things you should know," Robert explained at length.
I had a hard time making him smile. Thanks for his help, if he didn't help me I don't know what I would have done. Maybe I've completely lost my mind.
What I need to think about now is how I can raise Jesse for many years. I also need to be healthy and alive to guide him. Jesse and my journey isn't over yet, we have a lot more to go. Our hiding doesn't end there either.
