Adrienne and Richard kissed passionately while Adrienne gently rode Richard on the bed. It was a slow and intimate dance as Richard’s hands caressed and worshipped her curves.
He had arrived at the hotel and their brief conversation turned into a passionate encounter. After their lovemaking, Adrienne laid her forehead on Richard's.
"That was beautiful," he said, softly caressing her left cheek with his thumb.
He then gripped her waist firmly and quickly flipped her over, hovering above her now. He looked at her deeply, still enjoying the afterglow of their passion.
"Why did you do that? I didn't want you to come out of me yet. I'm feeling hollow now. Empty!" Adrienne whined playfully, feigning annoyance.
Richard chuckled.
"Come on. We need to shower, and we have to be careful. I don't want to accidentally bump into Amelia. Look how quickly she's growing inside you," he said, rubbing Adrienne's belly.
"It's Ethan, and I wasn't even moving, so there's no way you could have hit him," Adrienne retorted, still pretending to be annoyed.
"Come here," he said, lying beside Adrienne. She moved closer to him and nestled her head on his chest, feeling his heartbeat under her.
"Whoever came up with this idea was a genius," Adrienne murmured as they gazed at the stars in the sky.
They were in the hotel's unique top-floor suite, which featured a special part of the ceiling designed to reveal the night sky.
"Definitely. And now, we're the only ones who will enjoy this view forever," Richard said, kissing her forehead.
Their sweet cuddles on the bed were interrupted by Adrienne's phone ringing.
"I don't want to get up," Adrienne sighed and lazily got up to answer her phone on the dresser.
"It's Annabelle. I wonder what she wants this late at night," Adrienne said.
"It must be something important. You should answer," Richard said.
Adrienne answered the call.
"Hey, what's up?" she asked.
"Glad you answered. I'm fine, I'm okay," Annabelle said.
"Really? Then why did you call?" Adrienne asked.
"Just to say thank you again. I'm so grateful for what you did for me," Annabelle said.
"Oh my God, are you going to kill yourself?" Adrienne blurted out.
"What the ...?" Annabelle snapped.
"What? You could have just texted me instead of calling me. That's so suspicious," Adrienne rolled her eyes.
"It's not like you were busy or anything, duh," Annabelle said.
"Of course I'm busy. I'm not single like you," Adrienne retorted.
"Oooh... you were busy with your fiance? What were you guys doing? Making another baby?" Annabelle teased.
"Girl, bye."
"Hold on, hold on," Annabelle said quickly, stopping Adrienne from hanging up.
"Did you see the gift I left for you?" Annabelle asked.
"Oh, I actually forgot. I'll get it tomorrow."
"No, you can't. You have to get it tonight," Annabelle said.
"Weird. Now I'm really curious about this gift," Adrienne furrowed her brows.
"The sooner the better. Goodnight!" Annabelle hung up, leaving Adrienne stunned.
"What the hell?!" Adrienne exclaimed, looking at her phone.
"What's wrong?" Richard asked.
"Annabelle left a gift for me in the suite she stayed in. She told me to get it now and hung up just like that," Adrienne explained.
"Sounds weird and sketchy, right?" Richard said.
"Yeah, it does. But I'm also curious, so I think I'm going to get it," Adrienne said.
"Let's shower first. I'm coming with you."
After they showered and got dressed, they went to the suite below theirs. The one Annabelle had stayed in and there was no gift there.
They searched all over the suite, but there was no sign of a gift box.
"Is this girl trying to prank me?" Adrienne blurted out, annoyed.
Just then, Richard opened a lower drawer and a necklace fell out with a note attached to it.
It seemed the necklace was stuck to the bottom of the upper drawer with a note, and that's why it fell out when Richard opened it.
"Adrienne, come see this," Richard called.
Adrienne took the necklace and the note. She read it out loud,
"I had to stick it up there so none of the cleaners would find it, and also because I thought it would be fun if you went on a little treasure hunt.
Congratulations! You just found the necklace that will change your life!"
"How will this change my life?" Adrienne wondered, looking at the necklace.
It was a golden necklace and it was no doubt beautiful, but she didn't understand Annabelle's statement.
"Did you guys bond or something? Like friends or sisters?" Richard asked.
"Yuck! Of course not. Why would I be friends with her?" Adrienne said.
"Then, let's see," Richard took the necklace from her and put it on the drawer, grabbed the nearby lamp and hit it with the base of the lamp.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Adrienne tried to stop him.
He stopped after the neck broke into two equal halves.
"Richard, why did you break it? Annabelle will be so upset," Adrienne said.
"Here you go," he smiled proudly as he gave her the separated pendant of the necklace. The two halves were still attached to the necklace, but they were split.
Adrienne looked at the pendant in disbelief. She saw a tiny slot on one of the halves, where a memory card was hidden. She pulled it out and looked at it.
"What is this?" she asked, feeling a surge of curiosity and fear.
"It's a memory card. I guess it has something very important on it, and that's why Annabelle said it would change your life," Richard said, his voice serious.
"How?" Adrienne wondered, feeling more confused than ever.
"You have to watch it yourself," Richard said, lowering his voice.
Adrienne felt a mix of emotions. She was scared, curious, and intrigued. She wanted to know what was on the memory card, but she also felt a sense of dread.
She wondered what kind of connection she had with Annabelle, a girl she barely knew and only helped once.
"Let's go watch it then," Adrienne said.
"We don't have a laptop here, or in our room," Richard pointed out.
"We own this hotel. We can get a laptop from the security department. Let's go," Adrienne said, pulling Richard's hand, but Richard stopped her at the door.
"You should know that whatever is on that card is for your eyes only. You can't risk opening it on someone else's system.
"Let's just wait until morning. We'll go back to your house in the morning and check its content on your laptop, okay?" Richard said.
Richard was right, so Adrienne agreed.
"Hold on!" Adrienne suddenly said.
"Phone. We can use my phone. Let's go," she dragged his hand again out of the suite and to the elevator.
They got to her suite and she gave her phone to Richard to insert the card. It took him a few minutes and Adrienne paced nervously around the room.
"Calm down, girl. Why are you impatient?" He said.
Meanwhile Adrienne's mind was filled with the possible contents of the card.
After what seemed like forever, Richard gave Adrienne her phone, the memory card already inserted.
"Let's go through it."
