We are walking towards a secluded place, a remote area with tall trees. Ervine will open the portal again, and we will return to their magical home. The sun is setting, but a faint ray of sunlight still lingers. Ervine is enveloped in a dazzling light, warm and penetrating, reaching the depths of my heart. Pure love, forgiveness that springs forth from the heart, has set him free from the curse that bound him. "You're free now, Ervine!" I exclaimed happily. I feel an overwhelming joy as we traverse the dense surroundings. "Thank you so much, Charlotte. I'm content now... I'm just glad to see them in good spirits. But I still choose to be with Mama; she's still the one I consider my parent." Ervine smiled while gazing at the orange-colored sky. Suddenly, he loses his balance, and my eyes widen in shock as he collapses to the ground. Before he could utter the magic spell to summon the magic portal, he loses consciousness. How will we get back home now? I quickly support him and lean him against the trunk of a drooping tree. "You naughty children!!" a voice echoed in the surroundings, the voice of- "Switch!!" I exclaimed upon seeing him descend on a magic broom. He approached us and immediately lifted Ervine. Since we wouldn't fit on Switch's magic broom, he would be the one to open the magic portal so we could go home to Parañaque. "Orea, ilaih, majika, nepetrum, openum!!" After Switch uttered the magic spell, we promptly entered inside. Switch didn't ask any questions but spoke once we arrived back in Parañaque, precisely at their home. "I can feel that the curse on Ervine is gone. Thank you for your help, Charlotte." "I didn't do much, I just accompanied him," I said calmly to Switch. "That's not true, look at your necklace." He pointed to the Crystal of Truth I was wearing, which Ervine had given to both my sister and me. "It's glowing red?" "An act of true love, forgiveness, and assistance. Aren't these reasons rooted in love? And besides, I'm sure Ervine is immensely grateful to you." The curse on my sister and me still hasn't been lifted, is that correct? You said that both of us need to be genuinely and wholeheartedly loved, and we should accept them with our whole hearts. "Are you giving up? Love is complicated, isn't it?" I fell silent and watched over Ervine as he peacefully rested on the bed. I once again remembered the curse on my sister and me. Ervine was free from the curse, but we were not. And just because Ervine is capable of loving now doesn't mean he will love me, that he will like me the way I like him. Switch was right, love is truly complicated. I am once again in Ate Carmen's body, attending an event at the company. There's a welcome party for Miss Argenta, who recently joined the company. Within the HR department, it's evident that Sir Henry is irritable now that he knows he'll be working with Miss Argenta. "Ugh! No reason to be happy, my days are going to get worse!" Sir Henry grumbled while eating cake. Other employees agreed with him, it's clear they don't like Miss Argenta either, but they can't do anything about it since she has been given a position in the company. "So she's going to be the vice president, huh? That's sad. What do you think, Carmen?" a female colleague asked me. "Huh? I think it's not right to say bad things about someone," I replied softly, feeling shy. Sir Henry just shook his head and sighed with one eyebrow raised. "Is that really you, Carmen?" Sir Henry looked me up and down, turned around, and scrutinized my face. "You know, every time you're like this, you seem like a teenager trying to act all sweet and innocent!" he doubted, grinning. I just smirked and didn't respond. In the middle of the conversation, the fire alarm suddenly rang loudly throughout the building. We all went out of the office to find out what was happening when Kuya Erning rushed in, panting and shouting. "The basement is on fire! The fire is spreading quickly!" Kuya Erning yelled. Panic swept through the people in the HR department, and we quickly rushed out when we saw the chaos in the hallway. The people were crowding the stairs to get down, but the smoke was already rising to the 3rd floor. We could feel the heat and the smoke spreading rapidly. There was nowhere else to go but up. We all climbed up to the 4th floor. "Kuya Erning, what's the situation with the people on the 1st and 2nd floors? Did they manage to get out?" I asked, worried. Kuya Erning quickly responded with fear in his voice. "Yes, they were able to get out. It seems the people here on the 3rd floor weren't immediately informed. They were so scared and panicked that everyone ran in different directions to get out. That's why I gathered the courage to come and find you and inform you. The smoke is spreading quickly upwards," Kuya Erning explained as people started panicking. When we reached the 4th floor, people from different departments also came out. We had no choice but to go up to the 5th floor and wait for rescue. People were crowded together, desperate to save their lives. I saw Sir Henry stumble, and no one wanted to help him. "Sir Henry! I'll help you!" I supported him and continued walking. Kuya Erning saw us and helped me support Sir Henry. "Don't bother helping me, save yourself-" "No! We'll all make it out of here alive together. Let's trust in God!" "You truly are a good child. Whoever you are, inhabiting Carmen's body, I hope she becomes as pure-hearted as you." Sir Henry weakened, it seemed like he inhaled too much smoke, struggling to breathe. "Kuya Erning, wait!" We passed by the restroom, and I noticed some employees crowding inside. They wanted to hide there, hoping that the fire wouldn't reach them in the restroom. We made it to the 5th floor, and people were shouting, their emotions mixed. I caught sight of Mr. Valdez and Miss Argenta, accompanied by escorts. They seemed to be heading to the rooftop. Right! The company had a helicopter. They wouldn't abandon their employees, would they? "Mr. Valdez!" the people shouted to get his attention. He turned around, but Miss Argenta and her escorts tried to stop him. "Alejandro!" I shouted, unable to do anything but seek his attention. "C-Carmen?!" he exclaimed when he saw me, being supported by Kuya Erning and helping Sir Henry. He struggled against his escorts and approached us. The people approached him, pleading for help. "Let's go! We'll all escape this building together!" He took my place and supported Sir Henry on the other arm. Everyone followed us as we made our way up to the rooftop where a helicopter was waiting. When we all reached the rooftop, it wasn't just one helicopter that was waiting; there were also three rescue helicopters ready to pick us up. Fire trucks and ambulances also arrived. They were trying to extinguish the fire below while evacuating others using the rescue helicopters. The glass windows of the building had already shattered due to the intensity of the fire, and more fire trucks from other places were responding to the scene. We prioritized boarding the people who were weak, women, pregnant, and older than us, those who had less strength remaining. I asked Kuya Erning to go ahead, supporting Sir Henry, while I couldn't ignore the people who took refuge inside the restroom on the 4th floor. "Mr. Valdez, there are still people on the 4th floor who need help!" I worriedly told Mr. Valdez. "But it's dangerous. The fire has already spread to the 3rd floor, and the smoke on the 4th floor must be thick by now! I won't let you be in harm's way, Carmen!" Mr. Valdez said. Perhaps due to panic, he didn't ask if I was Charlotte or Carmen. "This is Charlotte. I'm sorry, I can't bear to leave them behind!" I shouted, then ran back. I heard Mr. Valdez calling after me. "C-Charlotte, wait!" I heard Mr. Valdez following me until he caught up and I felt the tight grip of his hand on my arm. "What do you think you're doing, acting like a child?!" Mr. Valdez shouted angrily. We made it back to the 5th floor, and the smoke was already reaching us. "There's nothing we can do for them. They chose to lock themselves in rather than take action and save themselves!" "You're mistaken. They need help. If no one tries to reach them, who will?" I firmly stated. I knew it was somewhat impossible to save them, but I couldn't bear to leave people in need of help. "Ah! You're so different from your sister. Alright, I'll help you! Just promise me that if it becomes too dangerous, we'll immediately return. I don't want you and Carmen's body to be harmed. I still cherish your sister! Here, put on this smoke mask for protection!" Mr. Valdez handed me a smoke mask, probably obtained from the rescuers earlier. He's right, we need to bring the people trapped in the bathroom back to safety. The smoke has become incredibly thick, and we can barely see despite wearing masks. Suddenly, we heard a loud scream coming from the bathroom. "Help! Save us! Please help!" the people inside shouted. The scream was accompanied by a loud bang on the door, and we immediately rushed towards the bathroom. "Help is here! Come out!" I shouted while Mr. Valdez pounded on the bathroom door. "We're scared. Our companion here has a phobia and refuses to come out!" the frightened woman inside said. "Open this door quickly! I have a smoke mask that I can give to them. We need to hurry and go up to the rooftop where the rescue helicopter is!" I explained, and Mr. Valdez looked at me. Upon hearing that there was a rescue helicopter on the rooftop, they quickly opened the door. Mr. Valdez and I entered. I took off my mask and put it on the person with a phobia of smoke. Mr. Valdez also removed his mask and gave it to someone who was struggling to breathe. We drenched ourselves with water, used wet clothes to cover our noses and mouths. Following Mr. Valdez's count of three, we all ran up the stairs to the 5th floor, with the smoke engulfing the 4th floor. We closed our eyes and prayed, hoping to make it out safely. Suddenly, I slipped on the stairs. "Augh!" I screamed in pain as I fell several steps, feeling like I had dislocated my foot from the impact. "Charlotte!"
