Chapter 34
Axel, who heard Antonio's words, clearly became angry. Instantly, his emotions ran high. Was it that easy for Antonio to say to hand Melani over to him? Axel really couldn't stop thinking about Antonio.
"Base! You are too much, Antonio! Melani, come with me for a moment!" Axel said. He then grabbed Melani's hand to take her out of the house.
Antonio just smiled sarcastically, and he didn't care because no matter what, Melani would still be his. And he's not afraid to lose it.
Arriving in front of Melani's house, Melani threw out her hand, which Axel grabbed. Axel was suddenly shocked when he saw these rights.
"Melani, you have to leave this house immediately," said Axel, but Melani just shook her head. It made Axel surprised, especially as Melani's gaze looked different at that time.
“I can't leave this house, Axel. It's not that easy for me to leave!" Melani answered with a slightly trembling voice, and she looked at Axel with a deep and passive gaze. “It's not as easy as you think. Everything can't run smoothly."
Axel, who heard Melani's words, was suddenly shocked. "Why can not? Even now, I can take you away from here. Come on, don't think about anything!” Axel grabbed Melani's hand, but Melani still didn't accept it.
"I'll still be here. I won't leave," answered Melani, as if the answer had already been decided for her to go through with.
"Are you crazy, Melani?" Axel looked at Melani with one eyebrow raised. Melani was not making any sense. He was ready to help her leave and get out of Antonio's trap, but now Melani flatly rejected him.
"Do you want to be domesticated by Antonio every day?" Axel replied.
Melanie shook her head. "I have to stay quiet here because my parents have a debt to Antonio. I can't go anywhere before the debt runs out," answered Melani. Finally, an honest answer came from Melani. He don't know what made Melani speak honestly.
Axel was silent for a moment, hearing Melani's answer. Now he knows. "So your parents had a debt to Antonio, so they married you?" Axel asked. Melani just nodded her head briefly.
“Why didn't you say so from the first time you got married? Why do you have to say that you love him?” Axel really can't stop thinking because Melani always lies to him.
"I don't want you to know the truth, Axel."
Axel shook his head with a glare, and he immediately left in front of Melani. Melani could only watch Axel go, who seemed disappointed and angry with her.
"I'm sorry, Axel, I'm just being honest now," said Melani, looking at Axel leaving, so Axel completely disappeared from Melani's sight.
Meanwhile, Axel, who was already outside Melani's yard, immediately rubbed his face roughly. It turned out that Melani's parents were in debt to her older sister, so they were finally forced to get married.
“Why won't they tell me? About this!” Axel was annoyed. He became a little hesitant. Because Melani really can't leave before her debts are finished.
"What's the nominal amount?" Axel forgot to ask this, and his thoughts immediately turned to Mr. Albert and Mrs. Anne. He immediately went home, hoping he would find answers at home.

It didn't take long for Axel, with his cold gaze, to arrive at his parents' house. Luckily, his parents were at home relaxing.
Seeing Axel's expression looked different, Mr. Albert, who was initially reading the newspaper, immediately put the newspaper down. He turned his attention to Axel, who was presently sitting in front of him.
Likewise, Mrs. Anne, who was playing on her cell phone, immediately stopped because he knew that Axel's situation was not good at the moment.
“How is Axel? Have you met Melani?" Mr. Albert asked. Axel quickly nodded, even though his gaze was still cold. "Then what did you get?"
“Why were you there for a moment?” Mrs. Anne asked, too, because she felt Axel was too early to go home.
"I want to ask Dad, how much does Melani owe Antonio? Is it too big?” asked Axel, with a severe expression. He was looking sharply into the eyes of Axel's parents.
Excited!
Mr. Albert and Mrs. Anne looked at each other when Axel's question surprised them.
"How do you know, Axel?" Mrs. Anne asked to make sure, and Axel looked at Mrs. Anne with a surprised expression.
"Yeah, who told you?" It was Mr. Albert's turn to look surprised when he heard Axel's question, which for them was unusual at this time.
"Melani, she was finally the one who wanted to be honest with me," answered Axel. “I don't understand what happened, Dad, ma'am. Why does Melani have to be honest with me now? And why do his parents have debts with Antonio?" Axel asked again, asking for a full explanation.
Honestly, Axel didn't understand what was happening. Because he hadn't been in the city for a long time, he finally missed all the news that had occurred in his town.
Mr. Albert sighed in resignation. "Melani's parents borrowed a lot of money. In fact, they could not pay the debt. So Melani was forced to marry Antonio instead."
Axel frowned when he heard Mr. Albert's words. "Does that mean Dad knew about this first?" Axel asked in a curt tone, and he felt that Mr Albert was hiding it on purpose
"Why didn't you tell me?" he asked again.
"Honey, we deliberately kept it a secret because this was Melani's request. If you didn't say that Melani told us, maybe we wouldn't have opened the cards now," answered Mrs. Anne, giving the reason that Axel asked.
Axel was completely confused with everything that happened in the blink of an eye. He don't know why everything happened today and when it will end.
"So, how much is the amount borrowed?"
Mr. Albert looked at Axel, exhaling in complete resignation. “Two hundred thousand dollars.”
Axel widened his eyes in shock. Two hundred thousand dollars? The amount is considerable for them to pay off. No wonder Melani's parents told her to marry Antonio.
The amount of debt is so large it will definitely be difficult for them to pay. It can also be seen from their economy that it seems inadequate.
"What's all that money for, Dad?" Axel asked Melani without thinking.
"I also don't know why Melani's family borrowed that much money from Antonio. And at first, we didn't believe it when we heard the story from Antonio at this time," replied Mr. Albert.
Axel became silent, not knowing what else to do now. What could make Axel help Melani get out of Antonio's life?
“What are you going to do now, Axel? Are you still waiting for Melani?" asked Mr Albert.
