Chapter 22

After giving Axel his number, Melani and Axel often exchanged news. Even though it was just a normal chat, Axel was delighted.
Axel looked at several messages he had just sent. He knew that Melani already had a boyfriend because Melani said it herself.
"Already have a boyfriend, but it feels like she's very open to me," Axel muttered, rubbing his face roughly. He is confused about his current thoughts.
"Will his boyfriend be angry if she finds out that me and her are texting each other?" Now, for some reason, Axel feels a little guilty towards Melani's boyfriend because he keeps sending her messages even though she already has a boyfriend.
"Ah, never mind! If it's your soul mate, who knows, maybe you'll meet it." Axel added again the point is that now he is only sending casual messages without expecting that Melani will reply to his feelings.
Because Melani already had a boyfriend, it was enough for her not to have high hopes for this girl.
 **
Melani is currently with her lover at a cafe. Their goal in coming there is for quality time together.
With the food served in front of the two of them, Melani ate it bit by bit.
However, Melani had been busy with her cell phone, causing her boyfriend, initially talking at length, to stop her voice for a moment.
Melani even laughed a little, making her boyfriend even more suspicious. When they are together, Melani never plays with her cell phone alone. Because she said, if it's just the two of them, don't play on your cell phone.
“Melani, are you not listening to me?” asked Andrew—Melani's boyfriend, who looked at him very sharply. Suspicious that Melani will make something.
Melani turned her gaze to Andrew. “I heard it. Just continue your story. I always listen," answered Melani.
"I'll respond later, just for a moment. I still have work," added Melani, not even addressing Andrew. Her hand continued to move across the cell phone screen, a smile appearing on her lips. Making Andrew sure this is not an ordinary thing.
Andrew's gaze was fixed on Melani's cell phone, which he was holding. "Why have I seen you only looking at your cell phone since earlier? You're usually not like this when you're with me," Andrew said suspiciously. His tone sounded unusual, as if he was angry because of Melani's attitude.
"Didn't we make an agreement that if we are together, no one can be alone with our cell phone?" Andrew added, remembering the agreement they made at that time. But Melani herself is now breaking it?
Melani chuckled. "I'm just chatting in the group, anyways—"
"Try giving me the cell phone?" Andrew interrupted, wanting to take Melani's cell phone. But Melani could still dodge it, and she didn't give Andrew her cell phone.
"What is it? I never opened your cell phone, right? So it's none of your business what's on my phone!” Melani answered firmly.
Indeed, while they were dating, Melani never touched Andrew's cell phone. She also knows about privacy, even though she is sometimes suspicious of the cell phone's contents.
And now, if Andrew is marketing Melani's cell phone, it's clear that Melani doesn't accept it because Andrew is hiding many rights from Melani.
“This contains people's privacy. I'm not curious about your privacy, and neither should you!” Melani was still trying to hide her cell phone. Andrew even stood up from his sitting position so he could quickly take Melani's cell phone.
However, Andrew remained firm in his stance, and he continued to try to seize Melani's cell phone. Finally, Andrew was able to get it.
“Andrew, give it back!” said Melani, but Andrew continued to stare at the cell phone intently. Even his jaw seemed to tighten, reading what he had found.
"Who is Axel? Your new fling? How dare you chat with other guys?” Andrew said, depressed, and he looked at Melani intently.
“Where is he from? Why are you so familiar with him? You chat with me, and it doesn't end like this!" He added again in an unyielding voice, making Melani feel a little anxious.
"Oh, I know. You must be dating him, right?"
Melani widened her eyes in disbelief. Is it that easy to say that Melani is already dating Axel? It's a ridiculous thing to say. "Hey! Don't think stupidly yet!" said Melani in annoyance. "He's the owner of the garden where I did research yesterday, and I was just asking questions that depend on three—"
 Plaque!
Melani turned her head to the side. Her left cheek felt very sore. She closed her eyes momentarily when she felt a deep pain within him.
Yes, Andrew walloped her. Melani didn't know what was going through Andrew's mind that he dared to hit her like this.
"You slapped me?" said Melani. She touched her cheek gently, chuckling sarcastically. Meanwhile, Andrew, still angry, could only stare intently at Melani's face.
“You go first, Melani! If you hadn't acted up, maybe I wouldn't have hit you!” Andrew snapped, even though they were now the center of attention.
Luckily, if the cafe isn't too busy, there are only a few people. So, not many people saw their fight.
“Who is Axel? Honestly Melani! If it's just the farm owner where you're doing research, why do you have to be that close? It's like you two have known each other for a long time!" Andrew looked away momentarily when he saw Melani, who grimaced in pain because Andrew had slapped her cheek. "How dare you play with me, Melani. Were my words not enough to make you realize your mistake?"
Because it's not a joke, if Andrew plays his hand, it will be felt.
“But you hit me so often, huh! For no reason, you get emotional and use me as an outlet?" Melani shook her head in a trembling voice, wanting to hit Andrew again. But it's hard for her if he does.
“You promised me not to hit me again, no matter what? But what is this!” Melani snapped.
"But you go first, Melani!" Andrew replied, not wanting to be outdone. His breathing rose and fell to hold back the emotions within him.
"I was wrong. You were wrong!" Melani held back so many tears and shook her head at Andrew, who stared at her sharply.
"You're a bastard, Andrew!" Melani snapped, Andrew wanted to hold her, but Melani slapped Andrew's hand away. She walked backward slightly.
“Honey, okay, I'm sorry. Listen to me—"
"We broke up! Don't ever look for me again!" Melani snapped. She then left the cafe.
 “Melani! Melani!”
Even though Andrew kept calling her repeatedly, Melani never heard him. Until Melani's body completely disappeared from the cafe area, making Andrew clench his fists tightly.
"Ah! Damn it!” Andrew kicked the table, annoyance washing over him. He immediately followed Melani before going any further.
