"Axel, today is the start of my work at the Division," Fiona said, full of determination to have a revenge "Are you sure about what you're going to do?" Axel's voice held a note of concern, his eyes searching hers for any sign of hesitation. Fiona rolled her eyes, "Are you starting again, Axel? We've talked about this." Axel forced a smile, but it didn't reach his eyes. "Just... take care, okay?" She nodded, her expression softening slightly. "If Mr. Jaxon calls or comes here, tell him I have a transaction to do." As Fiona turned and walked away, Axel's gaze remained fixed on her retreating figure. Each step she took seemed to deepen the ache in his heart, a sharp reminder of the distance growing between them. The door closed behind her, leaving Axel standing alone, his mind a whirlwind of unspoken words and unfulfilled wishes. Once Fiona had left, Axel wasted no time and immediately picked up his phone to call Commander Monbilt. The urgency in his movements was palpable, and the moment the call connected, Axel spoke with a tone that conveyed the seriousness of the situation. "Commander Monbilt," Axel said, his voice steady yet intense. "Axel, what's going on? Is there a problem? Why did you call?" Commander Monbilt's voice crackled through the phone, filled with concern and curiosity. Axel cleared his throat, preparing himself for the revelation he was about to make. "It's about Fiona." "Fiona? The new recruit we brought in recently? What about her?" Commander Monbilt's tone shifted to one of interest mixed with suspicion. "She's not just any recruit. She's an ally of Mr. Jaxon," Axel stated, letting the weight of his words hang in the air. There was a brief silence on the other end before Commander Monbilt responded, his voice tinged with frustration. "What? And you didn't think to tell me this crucial piece of information sooner?" Axel could hear the irritation in the commander's voice and quickly tried to explain. "I was going to tell you, Commander. It was just a matter of timing." "I thought you were inside Mr. Jaxon's mansion to help Blaze. Why did you change the plan without informing me?" He took a deep breath, searching for the right words to explain his actions. The silence stretched, filled with unspoken tension. "If we can take Mr. Jaxon's allies one by one, we'll be more likely to succeed," Axel said, his voice steady despite the uncertainty gnawing at him. Silence stretched out, long and oppressive, as he waited for a response. The seconds ticked by, each one amplifying his anxiety. "Commander Monbilt?" Axel prompted, his heart pounding. When the commander's voice finally came, it was cold and unyielding. "Just make sure, Axel. You know our rules. This plan cannot fail. You must not fall in love with her." Axel swallowed hard, the commander's words cutting deep, love. He hadn't considered the possibility, but now the thought refused to leave his mind. He fought to keep his emotions in check, to push aside the pain and sadness that threatened to overwhelm him. "Understood," he replied, his voice barely a whisper. "Tell me, why did she enter here? What is she planning?" "I-I don't know." Annoyed, Commander Monbilt hung up the phone and paced around his office. Commander Monbilt's frustration surged, and she clenched her fists, trying to regain control. "This isn't good. One wrong move and everything will fall apart," she muttered to herself, pacing the room. "What are her intentions? Could she possibly become an ally?" As she pondered these questions, Commander Monbilt couldn't shake the feeling that the mission was spiraling out of control. The lines between friend and foe, love and duty, were blurring, and she feared Axel might not be able to keep them separate. The stakes were higher than ever, and one misstep could mean disaster. Commander Monbilt was startled when the door creaked open unexpectedly. Her eyes widened with a mix of surprise and apprehension as Eric stepped inside. "Eric!" she exclaimed Eric furrowed his brow, concern etched across his face. "Why are you so surprised? Are you okay?" Regaining her composure, she straightened up and gestured toward the door. "Close the door," she commanded. As she sit into the chair behind her, she pointed to the seat beside her. "Sit here." Without hesitation, Eric complied, the urgency in her tone compelling him to follow her instructions without question. "Alex changed the plan," she began, her voice low but filled with tension. "Changed?" Eric echoed, his mind racing to catch up. "How?" "He's with Fiona now, not Mr. Jaxon. And he informed us far too late," she explained, frustration lacing her words. Eric's eyes narrowed. "The newcomer?" She nodded solemnly. "Yes. What we need to do now is find out her plans and, if possible, make her an ally. Her influence could be pivotal. We could either fail miserably or succeed beyond our expectations." Eric leaned forward, the gravity of the situation sinking in. "Where is Axel now?" Commander Monbilt shook her head, her expression troubled. "I don't know. But one thing is certain, he knows something he's not sharing with us. This is dangerous. We must keep them apart if possible." A silent agreement passed between them, both understanding the stakes without needing further words. "Can you call and bring Christoff here?" she asked, her tone brooking no argument. Eric nodded and swiftly exited the room, the weight of their mission pressing heavily.
